Nose Method
Nose contouring is a makeup technique that can add dimension to your nose and give it a
sculpted look. The trick to contouring is very different from your everyday foundation and
concealer. With faking a sharp nose, you will need a concealer or foundation that is a shade
dark and a shade or two light for your skin. This helps create a contoured nose by playing
around with light and shadow effects.
Begin the process by getting your base makeup done, post your skincare routine of course.
Start with primer, foundation, and concealer and blend it all well before going ahead with
contouring. This will accentuate the contour lines which would otherwise not be as visible
underneath your foundation.
The art of contouring is mastered by knowing the right colours you need to work with.
Choose a contour shade that is thrice the shade darker than your natural skin tone.
Choosing a light shade will not create the shadow effect and an extremely dark shade will
end up looking unnatural.
With contouring, using the right makeup tools is as important as getting your contouring
shades right. Use a small angled brush to create your contouring lines. A fluffy brush with
smaller bristles will help you blend the lines well. And a fan brush to apply the highlighter to
the focal points of your face.
Contour products, just like your foundation, are available in both cream and powder form.
Cream formulations are great for smaller sections such as the nose, cheekbones, and the
forehead while the powder formulation helps in blending. If you have oily skin, the creamy
foundation may smudge on your skin. In that case, a powder contour is your best bet.
The paramount rule of starting off with makeup is to always get your base right. Prep and
prime your skin with a good skincare routine and primer for a flawless makeup finish. This
will make sure your makeup doesn’t turn cakey.
To contour your nose, pick a colour that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone. If
you do not have a contouring kit at hand, you can opt for a concealer and bronzer instead.
We love our Magic Wand Waterproof Concealer or a bronzer like our Contour De Force Mini
Bronzer as the perfect alternative.
On both sides of your nose, draw two thin lines with a small angled makeup brush. Your
nose will appear more defined if you place the lines closer together. As soon as you are
done with the contouring lines, blend out any harsh lines with your favourite makeup tool.
To contour your nose or face without abrupt and harsh lines, you can opt for Face FWD >>
Contour Stick available in two gorgeous shades 01 Fawn First and 02 Espresso Edge for
flawless results. The shade 01 Fawn First is a gorgeous walnut brown shade that suits the
medium to fair skin tones. The shade 02 Espresso Edge is packed comes in beautiful coffee
brown shades that look ethereal on brown skin tones.
Adding dimension to your nose begins with a luminous highlight. To highlight your nose, dab
some highlighter on your tip and draw a line down its centre, then blend with your finger. Our
Own The Light Liquid Highlighter in the shade 03 Lass Lustre can be your perfect go to.
To create a natural contour look, blend any remaining foundation and concealer on your
nose with a makeup sponge. Apply a translucent setting powder over cream contour for a
longer-lasting result. Use a small amount of the lightest shade of contour powder to soften
those visible lines and create a natural look.
Use a concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone to create the illusion of a thinner
nose. Apply your concealer on both sides of the nose and set it with powder. With this
masking technique, you will eliminate the shadows and give yourself a slender nose.
With the darkest shade of concealer, draw two straight lines down each side of your nose,
and then add a line of the medium contouring shade on the outer edge of those lines.
To create the illusion of a more aligned bridge, never follow the natural curve of these lines,
as you want them to be vertical, parallel, and straight.
Using the highlighter, apply a highlight to the area of the bridge at the centre that has a
concave curve, bringing it forwards, and erasing all minor curves.
Using the lightest shade, dab a few drops of it on your nostrils, and then dab gently with your
ring finger to blend the entire nose.
Apply a contour powder that suits your skin tone to the tip of your nose using a concealer
brush in a circular motion around your nostrils.
Darkening your nose’s tip can make your nose look smaller.
Darkening the tip of your nose will make it appear shorter. However, adding highlights will
make the nose appear longer.
With the blending brush, apply a shimmery powder to the tip of your nose for an edgy look.
NOSE EXERCISES
Smile and push
Do the "smile and push” to slim your nostrils and bridge. It’s a very simple exercise—smile,
then push the tip of your nose up with your index finger. Repeat 20 to 30 times per day for
the best results.
This exercise is said to slim and strengthen the muscles around the nose and reduce fine
lines.
Wide O
Try the "O” pinch to make your nose seem slimmer or smaller. Make a wide "O” shape with
your mouth, then use your index fingers to push your nostrils halfway closed. Then, look up
toward the ceiling without wrinkling your forehead. Exhale through your nostrils while flaring
and widening them against your fingers at the same time.
Do this for about 10 seconds, a few times a day.
Nose massages
Perform nose massages to narrow your nose. Use your index and middle finger on both
hands to rub circles against your nose, starting at the top of the bridge of your nose. Make
counterclockwise circles in one hand and clockwise circles in the other. Move down the
bridge slowly toward the tip of your nose, making sure to massage the sides, too.
In addition to slimming your nose, this massage can also provide migraine relief.
Do the "Bull Dog Push” to tone your nose and correct flaring nostrils. Put both index fingers
on the sides of your nose with the base of your fingers close to your nostrils. Breathe in while
flaring your nostrils out and add a little pressure from your fingers to keep the flare small.
Exhale through your nose and release.
Repeat this exercise 5-10 times per day.
This exercise works out the nasalis muscles, which tend to get weaker and stretched out as
we age.
Anulom Vilom
Do the Anulom Vilom breathing technique to strengthen your nose. In your right hand, bend
your index and middle finger toward your palm. Close your right nostril with your thumb and
inhale slowly through your left until your lungs are full. Then, release your right nostril and
close the left with your ring finger. Exhale through your right nostril.
Repeat the exercise in reverse, inhaling through your right nostril and exhaling through the
left.
This breathing exercise is also great for oxygenating your brain and clearing your mind.
Breathing practice
Inhale through one nostril at a time for 10 seconds. Use your index finger to block or push
one nostril closed. Then, exhale all your air through your mouth and inhale through the free
nostril for 10 seconds. Repeat with the other nostril.
This exercise strengthens and tones the muscles on the sides of your nose
Try nose shaping exercises, but keep your expectations realistic. Currently, there’s no
scientific evidence that nose exercises or face yoga can reshape your nose. Its shape is
largely determined by your bone and cartilage structure, which can’t be altered without
surgery.
There aren’t bad side effects to nose exercises—some can get rid of smile lines, and
breathing exercises are helpful for relaxation and energizing your brain.
NON-SURGICAL NOSE JOBS
Non-surgical nose jobs, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or liquid rhinoplasty,
involve using injectable fillers to reshape and enhance the appearance of the nose without
surgery. Here's how it typically works:
1. Consultation: Initially, the patient consults with a qualified medical professional, usually a
dermatologist or plastic surgeon, to discuss their goals and expectations. The practitioner
evaluates the patient's nose and determines if they are a suitable candidate for the
procedure.
2. Treatment Planning: Based on the patient's goals and the practitioner's assessment, a
treatment plan is formulated. This includes the type and amount of filler needed, as well as
the specific areas of the nose to be targeted for enhancement.
3. Procedure: During the procedure, the patient's nose is typically cleansed and numbed
with a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort. The filler, commonly hyaluronic acid-based,
is then injected strategically into targeted areas of the nose to achieve the desired shape,
symmetry, or balance.
4. Sculpting: The practitioner skillfully sculpts and shapes the nose using the filler to
address concerns such as bumps, asymmetry, or drooping tip. They may also use
techniques to improve overall harmony and proportions of the nose with the rest of the face.
5. Results: Non-surgical nose jobs typically provide immediate results, with the nose
appearing more refined and balanced right after the procedure. Some minor swelling or
bruising may occur initially, but this usually subsides within a few days to reveal the final
outcome.
6. Duration: The longevity of results varies depending on factors such as the type of filler
used and individual metabolism. Generally, results can last from several months to over a
year before touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired appearance.
7. Risks and Considerations: While non-surgical nose jobs are generally considered safe
when performed by trained professionals, there are still risks involved, such as infection,
bruising, or allergic reactions to the filler. It's important for patients to carefully follow
postprocedure instructions provided by their practitioner to minimize these risks and optimize
results.
1. Cleanse Your Nose: Start by washing your face and nose area to remove any dirt, oil, or
makeup. This ensures that the clips adhere properly to your skin.
2. Apply Moisturizer. Optionally, apply a light moisturizer to your nose area to keep your
skin hydrated during the process.
3. Insert the Clips: Gently insert the nose shaping clips onto your nose. Ensure they are
positioned correctly and comfortably. Most clips are adjustable to fit different nose shapes
and sizes.
4. Wear Consistently: Wear the clips for the recommended amount of time each day, as
specified by the manufacturer. Typically, this ranges from a few minutes to several hours.
6. Monitor Progress: Periodically check your progress by comparing before and after
photos or simply observing any changes in your nose shape over time.
7. Follow Instructions: Always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for safe
and effective usage of the nose shaping clips.
here's a step-by-step guide on how to use adhesive nose pads to alter the appearance of
your nose:
1. Choose the Right Nose Pads: Select adhesive nose pads made of silicone or another
soft material. Ensure they are hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin.
2. Cleanse Your Skin: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt, oil, or
makeup from the nose area. Pat dry with a clean towel.
3. Prepare the Nose Pads: Carefully peel the adhesive backing off the nose pads to expose
the sticky side.
4. Position the Nose Pads: Hold the nose pads between your thumb and forefinger.
Place them on the desired areas of your nose, such as the bridge or the tip, where you
want to create the illusion of lift or narrowing.
5. Press Firmly: Gently press the nose pads onto your skin, ensuring they adhere well.
Use your fingertips to smooth out any air bubbles or wrinkles.
6. Check Symmetry: Step back and assess the symmetry of the nose pads. Adjust them as
needed to achieve a balanced appearance.
7. Blend with Makeup (Optional): If desired, you can apply foundation or concealer over
the nose pads to blend them seamlessly with your skin tone.
8. Remove Carefully. When you're ready to remove the nose pads, gently peel them off
from the skin. Cleanse the area again to remove any adhesive residue.
9. Reuse or Dispose: Depending on the type of nose pads, you may be able to reuse them
multiple times. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and storage.
10. Practice Makes Perfect: Experiment with different placement and sizes of nose pads to
achieve your desired look. Practice applying them until you feel confident in achieving the
desired effect.
NOSE RESHAPING DEVICES
Nose reshaping devices offer a non-surgical approach to altering the shape of the nose.
They function based on the principle of applying controlled pressure to specific areas of the
nose over an extended period, usually weeks or months, to gradually reshape its structure.
One common type of nose reshaping device is a silicone pad or clip. These are typically
worn over the nose, with the pad exerting gentle pressure on the bridge or tip, depending on
the desired outcome. The pressure encourages the cartilage and tissue in the nose to
gradually shift into the desired shape.
Another type of device is a nasal splint. These are often used to address issues such as a
deviated septum or to refine the shape of the nose after surgery. Nasal splints are inserted
into the nostrils and exert pressure on the inner walls of the nose, helping to straighten the
septum or reshape the nasal passages.
The key to the effectiveness of these devices is consistency and patience. Results are not
immediate and require consistent wear over a prolonged period. Additionally, the degree of
change achievable with non-surgical devices may be limited compared to surgical options.
It's essential for individuals considering these devices to consult with a qualified healthcare
professional to determine if they are suitable for their specific needs and expectations.
NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
Non Surgical rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure where dermal fillers are used to
temporarily change the shape of your nose. It’s an alternative for people who don’t want to
undergo plastic surgery. Your healthcare provider can complete the treatment in one office
visit. Results typically last up to six months.
Compared to traditional rhinoplasty, a nonsurgical nose job has limitations. For example,
with nonsurgical rhinoplasty, your nose can’t be made smaller and results only last up to six
months. But dermal fillers can temporarily smooth bumps and modify certain characteristics.
Non Surgical rhinoplasty may be right for you if you want to:
A nonsurgical nose job can add volume to your nose, but it can’t make it smaller. Many
people worry that dermal fillers will make their nose look abnormally large. But when it’s
done correctly, nonsurgical rhinoplasty can make your nose look more balanced and
proportionate with the rest of your facial features.
No. As mentioned, nonsurgical rhinoplasty can’t make your nose smaller or narrower. But in
many cases, it can smooth out bumps and make your nose appear more symmetrical.
Procedure Details
Some people aren’t candidates for nonsurgical rhinoplasty. But your doctor can talk with you
to find a treatment option that’s right for you.
During nonsurgical rhinoplasty, your healthcare provider may apply a topical anaesthetic to
numb your skin. Next, they’ll inject the dermal filler into specific areas on your nose to
achieve the desired results. In some cases, your healthcare provider might use botulinum
toxin injections instead. You might feel slight pressure or pinching during this process.

Bruising.
Nausea.
Migration (when the filler material migrates to other areas).
Fever.
Blurred vision.
Increasing redness or swelling.
