Sample technology skills needed/applied to create the solution

Digital Design Criterion C Strand 2 refers to the technical skills required to create and edit digital
media. Some examples of excellent technical skills that can be demonstrated in this criterion
include:

1. Proficiency in using design software: Students should demonstrate their proficiency in


using design software such as Canva, Draw.io, Lucidchart, thePlot.io,
Visme,Storyboardthat.com, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. They should be
able to use these tools to create high-quality designs that meet specific requirements.
2. Image Manipulation: Students should be able to manipulate digital images to achieve
specific design goals. This includes techniques such as cropping, resizing, and adjusting
color, saturation, rotation, flip and brightness levels amongst others.
3. Video Editing skills such as use of different transitions and effects, editing texts in the
videos, combining different video snippets, adding sound, voiceover, exporting video in
different formats such as mp4/mkv etc.
4. Web Design skills: Students will need to have knowledge of web design principles,
including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to create a visually appealing and functional
website
5. Audio Editing skills: Students should be able to fade in, fade out, trim, merge and export
audio files in different file formats such as mp3, wma etc.
6. Logo Creation skills: such as creation of logo through the use of different software such
as Canva, Tinkercad etc
7. Typography Skills: Students should have a good understanding of typography and be
able to use different fonts and styles effectively in their designs. They should also be able
to create and modify their own custom fonts.
8. Layout Design: Students should be able to create effective layouts for digital media such
as web pages, social media posts, and print materials. This includes understanding
concepts such as hierarchy, balance, and alignment.
9. Animation Skills: Students should be able to create basic animations using tools such as
the Powtoon, Animaker, Scratch, Adobe Flash or After Effects. This includes

understanding keyframe animation and using timing and motion to create engaging and
dynamic designs.
10. Game Creation: Students should display mastery of different game creation skills as they
create functional and interactive games using different software such as Scratch by
changing backdrops, sprites, giving functionality to sprites, creating scores etc
11. Interactive Design : Students should have a basic understanding of user experience (UX)
and user interface (UI) design. They should be able to create interactive designs that are
intuitive and user-friendly.
12. Graphic Design Software: Students will need to be proficient in using graphic design
software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign to create and manipulate
images and graphics.
13. 3D Modeling Software: If the product requires 3D modeling, students should be familiar
with software like Autodesk Maya or Blender.
14. Prototyping: Students should be able to create prototypes of their designs using tools
like Sketch or Figma to test and refine their ideas.
15. Coding: If the product requires programming, students should have experience with
coding languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
16. Project Management: Students should have knowledge of project management tools
and techniques to ensure that their design project is completed on time and within
budget.
17. User Experience (UX) Design: Students will need to be familiar with principles of user
experience design to ensure that their product is easy to use and navigat
