    Statement of Reason for Unable to Submit GRE Score

    Dear Admission Committee of IME Graduate Program,

    I am writing to explain my inability to submit my GRE score by the extended deadline for
    my application to the IME Graduate Program. I am currently a final year undergraduate
    student at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), in the fourth
    (final) year of my graduation program. As of the time of writing this statement, my current
    Semester Final Exam of Level-4, Term-1, which represents the seventh term out of a total
    of eight terms in my undergraduate program, is ongoing and is scheduled to conclude
    on October 31, 2023. After the completion of this Semester Final Exam, I am required to
    undertake an Industrial Training program, a mandatory course for my undergraduate
    studies in Mechanical Engineering at BUET. This training is scheduled to start on
    November 1, 2023, and will continue until November 21, 2023.

    The nature of this Industrial Training demands my presence and active participation within
    the industry site. During the whole training period, I will be spending the larger portion
    of my day working closely with my fellow students and industry professionals, which will
    be essential for my proper knowledge and practical exposure in the field of mechanical
    engineering. This experience is essential for my academic and professional development.

    Due to these reasons, it is regrettably impossible for me to allocate the necessary time to
    take the GRE test and submit my scores by the deadline of November 15, 2023. This
    situation is beyond my control, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may
    cause.

    For your reference, I have attached the official notice from BUET on the following
    pages, which details the commencement of the Industrial Training program immediately
    after the completion of my current Semester Final Exam.

    I understand the importance of the GRE requirement and its role in the admission process.
    I can assure that I am fully committed to pursuing my studies at the University of Tokyo
    and believe that my academic background and dedication align with the objectives of the
    IME Graduate Program. I extend my sincerest apologies for this inconvenience and
    express my gratitude for your understanding and kind consideration in this matter.
