Alien Swimmer

Measurements
With the yarns used in this project, the doll measures
16 cm tall and 10 cm wide.

Materials

- 2.5 mm crochet hook


- tapestry needle
- stuffing, polyester fiberfill
- stitch marker
- scissors
- some black felt for the eyes

Border Shoulder Straps 2x


Add a border to the top of the striped swimsuit.
In color C2 (ocean) yarn:
Surface crochet between rnd 21 and rnd 22:
 sl st 34

In color C2 (ocean) yarn:


Start ch 18 (18)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Alternate colors
To make the alien swimmer with the other color
scheme for the swimsuit, just switch the color C2
(ocean) with the color C3 (raspberry).

NOTE:
Surface slip stitches are made through the fabric:
start by making a loop on the right side of your work,
with the ball of yarn on the other side. Insert the hook
between the two rounds and next to the current
stitch, yarn over and pull the loop through the fabric
and then through the loop on the hook. Continue
until you are finished.

Swimming Ring

Ring Duck / Frog


In color C5 (light yellow) yarn for the duck ring and in
color C7 (bright green) yarn for the frog ring.
The ring is made out of a tube. Both ends of the tube
are sewn together.
Rnd 1 start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2 [ inc ] x 6 (12)
Start stuffing the ring and continue stuffing as you
progress.
Rnd 3-56 sc 12 (12)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the end of the tube to the beginning of the tube
to create a ring.

NOTE:
If the ring is too long or short you can remove or add
some rounds to make it fit perfectly around the alien
body.

Head Frog / Duck


In color C5 (light yellow) yarn for the duck head and
in color C7 (bright green) yarn for the frog head.

Swimming Ring Continued

Frog Eyes 2x Duck Beak

In color C7 (bright green) yarn: The muzzle starts from an oval shape.
In color C6 (curry) yarn:
Rnd 1 start 4 sc in a magic ring (4)
Rnd 2 [ inc ] x 4 (8) Start chain 4,
Rnd 3-4 sc 8 (8) work around both sides of the
foundation chain (4)
Fasten off, do not stuff and leave a long tail for

Glue a tiny disc of white felt on each eye and sew a sc 1, [ inc ] x 3,

Arms 2x

In color C5 (vintage mint) yarn:


Rnd 1 start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2 [ sc 2, inc ] x 2 (8)
Rnd 3-14 sc 8 (8)
Do not stuff the arm. Push the opening of the arm
closed and crochet both sides together using sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly
1. Sew the head to the body. 3. Sew both ends of the shoulder straps to the
(see images on the next page) front and back of the swimsuit, but make
sure to make them cross in the back.
2. Sew the arms to both sides of the body just
(see images below)
