Thank you for purchasing the VATECH PaX-150-C, Film X-ray System.

In order to have an adequate reference for using the PaX-150C Series properly and safely, please read
this installation manual carefully and keep it for future reference.

This installation manual may not reflect changes in the operating modes of safety of this product.

Warning
PaX-150C is a precise electro-mechanical system. Therefore, please read it carefully
before operation. VATECH (VATECH Co., Ltd.) is not responsible for damages caused by
improper installation, insufficient maintenance procedures and improper operation.

1.2. Obligation

PaX-150C series is a Film Dental X-ray System, based on the latest technology with less radiation dose
and simple user interface for producing high quality images.

1.2.1. Obligation of the Installer


PaX-150C series should be installed by the installer from Vatech and/or trained by Vatech. And the
installer has the following obligations:

① Make sure that only the line voltage specified by the manufacturer is used only (110 /230V±10%,
50/60Hz).
② Confirm 3 ground connectors.
③ For safety reasons, make sure to turn off the main power switch of the system during installation.
④ Install and test the system as per the installation instructions.
⑤ Provide the user manual with the end-user.

1.2.2. Safety Issues


● Electrical issues
① Trained and qualified technicians only are authorized to remove covers and have access to
power circuits.
② Power supply lines must comply with safety regulations and be maintained with ground terminals
to protect the parts from electrical shock.
③ Turn off the system and possibly disconnect plug from the outlet before cleaning or disinfecting
the unit.

● Mechanical issues
① Make sure that fingers, or other parts of the patient, or the operator are not pinched during the
movement of the unit.

● Explosion
① The system should not be used in presence of flammable gases or vapors.

● Radiation
① A trained and qualified personnel only are authorized to operate the system complying with
existing law for radiation protection.
② Make sure that the system is operated with careful observation.

● Environmental issue
① The system must be disposed of according to the existing laws in your country.

2. Preparation

2.1. Check ShockWatch and TiltWatch

The Shockwatch and Tiltwatch become red if damaged.

● Check whether the “ShockWatch” and “TiltWatch” of each cartoon box have been damaged or not
If “Yes”, contact your delivery company, agent or Vatech

3. Installation

This chapter descries How to install PaX-150C series properly and safely in detail.

3. Installation

3.1. Main installation

3.1.1. Checking ground balance


① Take out the Base stand from the box.

② Check the balances of the place where the system will be installed.

Check the balance of the floor where the system will be installed. The floor does
not need to be perfectly balanced, but it should not be too slanted as balance is
very important for the system.

3.1.2. Base and Column

① Take out the Column from the box and place it with the front side upwards on the Styrofoam
plates.

At lease 3 persons are needed to install the Neo-TOP-F Series.


Some assistance may be needed when lifting the column from the box.

The styrofoam is to prevent scratches on the column or damage to the limit


switch on the back of the Column.

② Check whether the stopper is locked tight or not.

③ Install the Base stand to the Column and tighten the bolts: Insert 6 bolts [M6*35] through the Base
stand to the Column.

A minimum of two persons should hold the Column while screwing the wrench
bolt.

④ Remove the Styrofoam plate near the Base stand.

⑤ Stand the Column on the ground.

A minimum of two persons is needed for this


work.

⑥ Insert 3 bolts [M8*15] into the rear of the Base stand.

⑦ Install chain ass’y on the Column


-Attach chain ass’y (See accessory box) to the Column_Insert with 4 bolts [M4*6] at A and B

3.1.3. Rotating Unit

① Take out the Rotating unit from the box

② Check two projections on the Vertical carriage of column.

③ Lift up the Rotating Unit and then, match (hang) the holes to projections on the Vertical
carriage

A minimum of three persons should hold the Rotating Unit, and then match
holes of the Rotating Unit into projections of the Column.

④ Check whether the Rotating Unit is assembled firmly or not. If not, do match properly.

⑤ Fix The Rotating Unit to the Column with 6(upper 4, lower 2) bolts [8*15].

⑥ Remove Bolt fixing Rotating Unit at Vertical Carriage Unit.

To remove 2 bolts you should uncover Top Cover of Vertical

⑦ Fix Wire Plate with 2 bolts [M3*12] at sliding panel of the Rotating Unit into the Top of
Vertical Carriage.

① Assemble Cephalometric unit

● Remove A [Bolts] and then take out B [Plate] as below.


● Put in cassette holder [CEPH] and insert B [Plate]
● Tighten A [Bolts] with spanner.

To prevent from Vertical Carriage going up after taking out locker, you should
hold vertical carriage manually during removing and inserting locker as below
picture.

② Remove fix plate


● Remove 2bolts and take out 1 locker in order to remove fix plate from back of Column.
● Insert 1 locker again to fix the weight balance

② Assemble Cephalometric Arm to Column.

Assembling Cephalometric Arm needs at least 3 people

● Insert 4 bolts [M8*25] with wrench firmly.

③ Assemble the Wall-bracket as in the picture below. Insert 2 bolts, 2 spring washers and 2 nuts.

④ Attach the Wall-bracket on the Column. Insert 2 spring-washers and 2 nuts.

⑤ Screw the Wall bracket into the wall.

3.1.4. Other installation


① Cable connection
● Connect up-down limit switch cable and Up / Down motor cable

● Put horizon measure on the Vertical carriage and make a balance by loosing and screwing bolt no.

③ Adjust horizon of Cephalometric Arm


● Put horizon measure on Cephalometric Arm.
● Adjust B [bolt], and then checking A

● Tighten Cephalometric Unit at the Column firmly.

④ Connect cable at Lamp board

⑤ Insert a projection at vertical upper cover to Lamp Bard Cover

⑥ Tighten the bolts at vertical upper cover

⑦ Install Headrest at rotating unit

⑧ Case the EC-MCU with the Power case.

⑨ Connect up/down switch and X-ray exposure switch


● Connect Up/down switch to A
● Connect X-ray Exposure switch to B

⑩ Remove locker at the back of column.

Before using Up-down S/W, take out locker at the back of column

⑪ Checking power

Check the main power with a multi-meter/multi-tester.


Check whether your voltage range meets Neo-TOP-F voltage AC
110/230V ± 10% or not.

⑫ Exchange of Voltage & Fuse

How to exchange Fuse: Turn knob to left and then remove fuse. Exchange fuse and set up knob.

4.1. Panorama

① Turn on the product

Power[OFF] Power[ON]

② Press “RETURN” button for moving Rotating Unit to initial position.

③ Mount cassette on Panoramic cassette holder. For proper mounting of cassette, fully insert

cassette to the end of Panoramic cassette holder.

④ Install Chin rest and bite with disposable hygienic cover

When you capture TMJ and SINUS.


Please install Chinrest of TMJ, SINUS and Chin support of TMJ, SINUS.

⑤ Select patient among the Man, Woman, Children on the operation-panel.

⑥ Select patient figure type and press on the operation-panel.

HARD NORMAL SOFT

⑦ Select capture mode you want to capture by pressing below button

When you press each button the green light shall move as you pressed.

⑧ Set kVp & mA value

Each mode has default kVp & mA value.


If needed, can adjust kVp & mA value.

⑨ Press X-ray exposure switch.

Keep pressing the button until the voice message informs finishing image
capturing process.

⑩ Conditions for development


● Film Kodak T-MAT G Dental Film, 400-speed system
● Screen Kodak Lanex Regular
● Developing Solution Kodak Readymatic Dental chem pack Cat 661 0109 for
dental.

● Processing Condition [PANO & CEPH]


-Temperature 30℃
-Time 4 MIN
-Humidity 50 ~ 70%
● Storing Condition for Film 4 ~ 26℃

4.2. Cephalo

① Turn on the product

Power [OFF] Power [ON]

② Mount cassette to cephalometric cassette holder.

Cassette location for Lateral mode and Frontal mode is different.

[Latero-Lateral Mode] [Anterior-Posterior Mode]

③ Convert to Cephalometric mode.


● Slightly turn right the tube part as shown on the below picture.

● Turn on the adjusting knob to the direction the arrow mark indicates on below picture.

● Press CEPH button.

Check message after pressing CEPH button on the LCD screen.

“CEPH Status … (OK)”


“MOTOR Moving … (OK)”

There will be alarm in case that the adjusting knob is not fully turned left.

⑤ Select patient among the Man, Woman, Children on the operation-panel.

⑥ Select patient figure type and press on the operation-panel.

HARD NORMAL SOFT

⑦ Select the depth of soft tissue and capture mode you want to capture by pressing below button
(AP Ù LL+1 Ù LL+2 Ù LL+3 Ù LL+4 Ù LL+5 Ù LL+6 Ù LL+7)

When you press each button the green light shall move as you pressed.
The depth of soft tissue on LL+2 is deeper than that of LL+1.

⑧ Set kVp & mA value

Each mode has default kVp & mA value.

⑨ Press X-ray exposure switch.

Keep pressing the button until the voice message informs finishing image capturing
process.

⑪ Conditions for development


● Film Kodak T-MAT G Dental Film, 400-speed system
● Screen Kodak Lanex Regular
● Developing Solution Kodak Readymatic Dental chem pack Cat 661 0109 for
dental.

Warranty

Vatech hereby warrants free defects in this product and reliable quality within the warranty.
If any abnormality is found within the period of warranty, Vatech provides free charged repair service or
exchanges with a new one according to the kinds of cases.

Customer should pay for the cost of packing and transporting a defective part to VATECH’s service
center of the local agency, and the expenses should be paid in advance by customers.

This guarantee does not cover any malfunction or breakage which occurs due to misuse by the
customers. Vatech is not responsible for services in the cases listed below.
z Any breakage occurred during installation, repair, or manipulation by any one who is not
VATECH’s authorized personnel.
z Any breakage by negligence of the customer or by use with incompatible system.
z Any breakage or malfunctions caused by using other brand assemblies.

VATECH’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repair and replacement of products. With the
exception of factors stated in this warranty, this warranty shall not cover any direct, indirect, particular,
or accidental damages regardless of announcing possibility of critical results to customers in advance.
