Kylian Mbappe is firmly established as one of the best players in the world, and he has
already won more trophies than most players do in his entire career. During 2015/2016 he
became Monaco’s youngest-ever player and soon after their youngest-ever goal scorer, and
he then led his team to the Ligue 1 title in 2016/2017. A €180m transfer to Paris Saint-
Germain in August 2017 followed when he won three more league titles in his first three
years there, as well as a World Cup with France. Few players ever reach those heights.
Mbappe isn’t a superstar in the making – he is already right at the very top of the game.

The most obvious and striking and striking aspect of Mbappe’s game is blistering pace and
lethal finishing – a combination that will remain, no matter how football evolves, of huge
value. Those raw aspects were the reason he broke through at Monaco aged just 16, braking
Thierry Henry’s record as the youngest player in their history in the process.

Mbappe is also such an adept dribbler that it is almost as risky to drop off and allow him
space to receive to feet and turn. There are few players more frightening in one-on-one
situation. If he spaces to run into, a simple push-and-run will likely beat his opponent, and
when he has less space, he can change direction quickly and escape.

Our school had a sports event last week. The sports event was held to celebrate the school
anniversary. Me and my classmates participated in various sports events. Excellent prizes
would also be awarded to the winning teams. Everyone was excited about that.

Our classes participated in three events. The first was futsal competition, which I joined,
followed by badminton and the last was female basketball. The rest was in charge of medical
supplies and cheering the team.

The preliminary matches to select the finalist had started a few weeks before the
anniversary. Only two teams for each sports category will have a showdown in the main
event. The winner then would receive the main prizes.

Our classes were not fortunate enough in the preliminaries. The futsal team only reached
the quarter-finals. The last match was pretty even for both sides. Eventually, our team was
defeated by one of the finalists’ teams by a tight score of 6 – 5 for the winning team. That
wasn’t so bad.

Our badminton team also didn’t reach the finals. We have lost by undisputed results of 11 –
