SUBJECT CLOSED CAR PARKING GARAGE VENTILATION
First we need to calculate the speed of the Air at the Ramp From Relation
Q supply = V supply * A ramp
Where:
Q : Air Flow supply (CFM)
V : Air Velocity at the inlet of the ramp (fpm)
A : Area of the Ramp (ft2)
Q supply = Air Flow Fresh (CFM) = 0.80 : 0.95 of Air Flow (CFM) Exhaust in normal Case
• In case of Ramp Air Speed < 2.5 m/s
We are not in need of Fresh Air System

EXAMPLE
We have a garage of an Area = 1068 m2 & Height = 3.73 m & Ramp area = 8.86 m2
SOLUTION
Area = 1068 m2 & Height = 3.73 m we will get the Volume = A * H = 1068 m2 x 3.73 m = 3983.6 m3
Air Flow (CFM) Fresh = 0.80 : 0.95 of Air Flow (CFM) Exhaust in normal Case = 0.95 * 14100 = 13395 CFM
Q Fresh (CFM) = V fresh (fpm) * A ramp (ft2) V = Q / A = 13395 / 95.3 = 140.55 fpm = 0.71 m/s
