Introduction
Reading allows us to open our minds,
let ourselves be carried away by our
imagination. Through reading we can
learn about different ways of
expressing our knowledge, feelings,
emotions. Through a book we can
learn about other places, other stories,
other people.
What is a good reading habit?
Reading allows us to open our minds, let
ourselves be carried away by our
imagination. Through reading we can

our knowledge, feelings, emotions.
Through a book we can learn about other
places, other stories, other people.
Benefits of reading
1.- Increases our emocional intelligence
Through the books we meet characters with very different
personalities. Some may be more like us; others, less. But by
reading the facts from their point of view, we learn to put
ourselves in their shoes, to see things with different eyes, and
this increases our empathy and our emotional intelligence.
Benefits of reading
2.- Increases our vocabulary
Based on daily reading, all these new expressions that we
find on a book end up becoming part of our usual vocabulary
and we have many more resources to express ourselves.
Benefits of reading
3.- Strengthen our general culture
This is a wonderful side effect of, for example, historical novels.
Or biopics about stars or cultural movements. Opening the
cover of the book we enter a universe that is completely
unknown to us.
Benefits of reading
4.- It de-stresses us
Reading is the perfect companion for these moments, because
it allows us to continue enjoying stillness and silence and at the
same time transports us wherever we want, far from
obligations
Benefits of reading
5.- Makes us use our imagination
Reading allows them to imagine the characters in their own
way, visualize them as they want, paint the scenarios in their
minds and develop the story in their own heads as the
chapters progress. In a word: imagination.
Benefits of reading
5.- Strengthens our commitment and willpower
And here we go straight to the matter of habit. Because there
are many things that we like to do but in the end the hours of a
day are limited and the obligations are demanding. That is why
it is very positive that we are able to make room in our day to
day for those habits that make us enjoy and feel good.
