PREFACE Dear Parents and Students, Summer vacation is around the corner, bringing with itself a much-needed respite from hectic school days. We hope that you will thoroughly enjoy the vacations and make the most of this summer. While it is indeed important that you relax and refresh yourselves, it is also important that you exercise your minds. Keeping this in mind, we have designed various assignments to keep the students engaged and active during the summer vacation. These Assignments would enhance learning skills, help understand concepts better, and make for a great crash course aimed at improving academic output. These will not only help you to revise what was taught, but will also enrich your knowledge. This holiday homework will be assessed as Subject Enrichment Activity. We encourage parents to motivate and support the students to ensure the given work is completed in time, to the best of their ability. Your support and encouragement both have a huge impact on your child’s learning ability. The Holiday Home Work is to be done neatly with relevance to the questions asked and to be submitted to the subject teachers within a week of reopening of the school. Homework submitted late will invite negative marking. It is important that deadlines are met. Wishing you a fun filled, safe summer vacation. General Activities Beneficial for Students:
Reading: Read widely during the holidays, including fiction,
non-fiction, and articles on topics of interest. Reading enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills.
Physical Activity: Promote physical well-being by engaging
yourself in regular exercise and outdoor activities. Physical activity improves overall health, reduces stress, and enhances concentration and mood.
Creative Hobbies: Pursue creative hobbies such as painting,
drawing, playing musical instruments, cooking, or gardening. Engaging in creative activities fosters self-expression, boosts confidence, and provides a sense of accomplishment.
Volunteering: Volunteer your time and skills to help others in
their community. Volunteering promotes empathy, social responsibility, and civic engagement, while providing opportunities for personal growth and learning.
Digital Learning: Utilize online resources and educational
platforms constructively with opportunities for self-directed learning and skill development.
Reflection and Goal Setting: Reflect on your academic
progress and personal growth during the past months, and to set goals for the upcoming year. Develop strategies to achieve your goals towards self-improvement. By providing a balance of academic tasks and enriching activities, you can make the most of your holiday break while continuing to learn and grow outside the classroom. Some Points To Remember:-
Drink plenty of juice and water to avoid dehydration.
Make hand washing and hygiene a part of your routine. Holiday Homework is a part of subject enrichment and will be assessed on the basis of creativity and efforts of the students. It's the perfect time to enhance your speaking skills and vocabulary by conversing in English with your family and siblings. Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary. Spend your quality time reading purposeful books. A beautiful handwriting makes a good impression. Practice one page of English and Hindi handwriting daily. Schedule your time for activities so that there is no piling up for the last moment. Holiday homework should be your authentic creative work.
