First opening in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1963, by
brothers Stanley and Sidney Goldstein
Selling products that meet high-quality standards
and have a Cosmetic Safety Policy.
Composing of four business functions:

In 2009, CVS was accused of improperly disposing of patients' health information: company employees threw
prescription bottle labels and old prescriptions into the trash without destroying sensitive patient information

CVS was accused of encouraging patients to switch name-brand prescriptions - with the notion that it would
save them money without caring about the financial burden on patients. In 2009, FTC investigation concluded
consumers had been misled when had to bill up to 10 times the amount they expected

CVS acknowledged that between 2008 and 2012 its stores had dispensed controlled substances including
oxycodone (narcotic), fentanyl, hydrocodone, and pain pills- not comply with regulations
