Best Practice: Partner Statement

of Work (SOW) Checklist


Purpose: The purpose of this checklist is to provide Customers, Partners and salesforce Account Executives a best
practices framework to assess Statements of Work for salesforce projects. Following these best practice
guidelines for SOW completeness, clarity and expected deliverables will contribute to customer project
success.

Project Scope:
• Proposed Solution / Architecture High level illustration of architecture (salesforce,
integration points etc), identify custom coding,
custom objects and description as to why needed

• Data Migration Details on importing data from 3rd party systems,


including de-duping

• Reports/Dashboards Key Dashboards/Reports for all management

• Salesforce1 Mobile Rollout plan for Salesforce1 Mobile

• Integration approach Illustrate how integration will work(real-


time, batch, CTI, need 3rd party software:
Jitterbit,Informatica etc)

• Methodology Explain how it will be rolled out (Iterative, Agile-


SCRUM)

• Resource Identification / Team Matrix laying out:


Structure • Partner resources – title, responsibility in
project and expected deliverables, timelines for
deliverables, cost of deliverables
• Client resources – title, responsibility in
project and expected deliverables, expected
participation (FT,PT)
• Project Timelines/Milestones (High Level Gantt Chart)

• Phases / Description/ Roles / Hours The best approach is in phases or small chunks
showing value along the way. Show a matrix of
each phase, description, the associated roles
required and hours to complete. This should align
with the Gantt chart.

• Enable All Licenses Detailed Plan to roll out all active licenses over
defined timeline

• Project Assumptions / Dependencies Clear expectations for this project

• Out of Scope / Project Exclusions What is not included in the implementation

• Training / Documentation Specific training based on configuration work

Fee Schedule:
• Cost for each deliverable As it’s iterative, show the cost for each deliverable

• Third party software Any additional 3’rd party software costs needed
to complete project
• Travel Expenses Any need for on-site resources and costs
associated.
• Total Fees Total cost of the solution including applicable
taxes
