1.1 BREIF HISTORY BACKGROUND

The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) was created through

Executive Order (EO) 245 issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino

on July 24, 1987. Prior to this decree, she issued Executive Order No.

116 which provided for the integration and consolidation of eight

distinct government agencies that dealt with the industry, namely, the

Philippine Tobacco Administration (PTA), Philippine Virginia Tobacco

Administration (PVTA) Philippine Tobacco Board (PTB), Philippine

Virginia Tobacco Board (PVTB) Philippine Tobacco Research and

Training Center (PTRTC). Virginis Flue-Curing Board (VFB), Virginia

Tobacco Fuelwood Corporation (VTFC), and the National Tobacco

Classification Council (NTCC). This consolidation was aimed at

streamlining agencies with duplicatory functions, consolidating

manpower and financial resources in the process and pursuing

oversees and regulates the growth and development of the industry,

By generating the appropriate technology, the NTA aims to

basis for industrialization.

With the enactment of Republic Act 9211, otherwise known as

the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003, NTA's mandates were further

expanded to Include:
 Tobacco Growers Assistance Program, to support financially the

NTA-registered tobacco farmers who may be displaced due to the

implementation of the Act, or have voluntary ceased planting

tobacco:

 Promote the Tobacco Growers Cooperative Programs, to assist

tobacco farmers in developing alternative farming systems, plant

alternative crops and other livelihood projects;

 National Tobacco Free-Public Education Program, to provide

scholarships for dependents of tobacco growers, in collaboration

with state colleges and universities and technical and vocational

schools; and

 Research and Development Program, to undertake studies in

cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology

(DOST) concerning technologies and methods to reduce the risk of

dependence on and injury from tobacco product usage and

exposure, (or quality assurance for tobacco and tobacco

products).development of alternative uses of tobacco and similar

research programs.

1.3 POWERS AND FUNCTIONS

To effectively and efficiently carry out its mandate, the Agency

was vested with the specific powers to

production, standardization, classification, grading, and trading of

tobacco and tobacco products as may be necessary to attain its

purposes and objectives and pursue the policy of government on

tobacco.

2. Conduct agricultural and industrial research and establish,

operate, and maintain experimental stations.

VISION

In the medium term, the NTA shall have attained an improved

MONTHLY WORK IMMERSION ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

MARCH 2024
This month, which also happened to be the month we were deployed to the
National Tobacco Administration, marked the start of our immersion experience.
During the first month of our work immersion program, I gained a lot of knowledge
regarding the path I've chosen to take in order to study agricultural engineering.
During our deployment, one of my coworkers volunteered to arrange and encrypt
the documents. I didn't know this would be the most crucial aspect of the task, but it
turns out to be the most crucial because any inaccurate information would become
the company's property. Since there was a seminar on the second day and we
wanted to see how they assessed the different tobacco products, we were assigned
the duty of taking attendance. I've been more interested in my dream course so far,
and I've had fun with the first month of it. This encounter is shaping my talents and
understanding of radical and sophisticated approaches and ideas. Nevertheless, I am
eagerly anticipating the next few weeks of my job immersion program. Hopefully, I'll
gain more knowledge and become more proficient. To conclude my report, I would
like to convey my hope that the information and abilities I have gained from my work
immersion experience will be useful to me in the future.

MONTHLY WORK IMMERSION ACCOMPLISMENT REPORT
APRIL 2024
April was a wonderful month for me to complete my training.
I've had a range of educational experiences that have been quite
beneficial to my own growth and progress as a prospective agricultural
engineer. I assisted with file organization, tobacco classification, and
tobacco grading. I gained self-assurance and practical skills from
these experiences.
I also maintained a cheerful attitude, followed protocol and
conventions related to my job, and honored the privacy and dignity of
every employee. My commitment to professionalism allowed me to
overcome obstacles, win people over, and achieve noteworthy results.
My experience as an agriculture trainee has been incredibly fulfilling
and enriching. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had to grow,
learn, and contribute to the office (NTA & TMI). I am confident that the
skills and knowledge I have acquired from my education will serve as
the cornerstone of my future profession as a dedicated and
compassionate agricultural engineer.

MONTHLY WORK IMMERSION ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

MARCH 2024
We began our immersion experience this month, which also
happened to be the month we were deployed to the National Tobacco
Administration. I learned a great deal about the route I'm choosing to
pursue Agricultural Engineering during the first month of our Work
Immersion program. One of my coworkers offered to organize and
encode the documents during our deployment; I never realized this
would be the most important part of the job, but it ends up being
most important as any false data would become property of the
company. We were given the task of taking attendance on the second
day since there was a seminar going on, and we could learn how they
graded the various tobacco products there. My interest in my ideal
course has grown thus far, and I have enjoyed the first monthly
experience. My talents and knowledge of radical and complex ways
and insights are being shaped by this experience. Even so, I am
looking forward to the remaining weeks of my work immersion
program with excitement. With any luck, I'll learn more and improve
my abilities. To sum up my report, I would want to express my hope
that I will be able to use the knowledge and skills I have obtained from
my work immersion experience in the future.

MONTHLY WORK IMMERSION ACCOMPLISMENT REPORT

APRIL 2024
I was able to successfully finish my training in April. I've had a
variety of educational experiences that have really aided in my own
development and advancement as a potential agricultural engineer. I
helped with tasks included organizing files, classifying tobacco, and
grading tobacco. I acquired confidence and useful abilities from these
encounters.
I also kept a positive outlook, adhered to professional norms
and procedures, and respected each employee's dignity and privacy.
Because of my dedication to professionalism, I was able to gain
people's confidence, overcome challenges, and produce significant
outcomes. I have found my time as an agriculture trainee to be
immensely rewarding and enriching. I am appreciative of the chances
I've had to develop, learn, and add value to the office (NTA & TMI). I
have no doubt that the abilities and information I have gained from
my training will be the basis of my future career as a committed and
caring agricultural engineer.
