As an early senior, I had an optimistic attitude towards 11th grade, full of boundless joys and
adventures, memories that lasted a lifetime being ready to spend it to avoid future regrets.
But my mindset faded away like a dying ember when my father, the sole breadwinner, quit his job
because his employment organization closed down, which I took as a nasty shock. Even though
my father actively looked for work and sent documents in anticipation of a response, he was not
hired, perhaps due to his age.
As months passed, the financial situation worsened: reserves ran out, and we needed to pay for
housing and communal services. Overhearing a conversation between my parents, I learned that
my mother suggested taking out a loan, but we already had enough loans that needed to be repaid
and also offered the notion of financial assistance from relatives. But the father responded
furiously: “No!” fearing the spread of unpleasant rumors that could ruin the reputation of our
family. This revelation spurred me into action – I no longer wanted to idly watch my family endure
such circumstances.
I began scouring online platforms, despite my lack of qualifications and experience, for
employment opportunities. I came across a vacancy for a teacher of online English courses at the
Learning Center, sent the documents, and waited with trepidation for a response. Finally, I received
an invitation by mail for an interview.
On the appointed day, I nervously entered the office of the head of the HR department. I felt
confused because this was my first interview. Every word the manager said seemed ambiguous to
me, leaving me uncertain of its implications. However, I tried to remain calm and remain confident.
After the interview, the manager walked me to the door and finally, with an ambiguous smile,
said: “We’ll contact you!” Grateful for the opportunity, I left the office, hoping for a positive
outcome.
Time ticked away, the family's financial situation did not change, and there was no response from
the Center. Having accepted the notion that I wasn't hired, I started looking for other opportunities.
Imagine my astonishment, when I received the long-awaited call from the HR department and was
informed that I had been offered the desired position. I wanted to tell my family about this as soon
as possible. Having informed them, my house was again filled with indescribable delight, which
had not been there for a long time after my father’s dismissal.
Consequently, I had to give up those adventures and unforgettable emotions of 11th grade.
Starting a new job was challenging. I had to balance between studying and teaching, which helped
me manage my time correctly. I taught individual and group lessons, developed educational
materials, and tried my best every day to improve my skills.
Who do I want to be? You think I want to become a teacher and become one of the best in this
field.
Looking at the future, I have embraced a desire to pursue further studies in Computer Science,
because I believe as being interned in this area it is not only an unparalleled avenue for personal
growth but also a unique opportunity to assist others. My father once became unemployed, I don't
want the same to happen to me in the future, considering that nowadays many people are losing
their jobs due to AI, so I have made it my goal to create a conducive environment where AI and
humans work in harmony and cooperation. I believe that combining our strengths and unique
capabilities can lead to new levels of innovation and achievement.

Education progression
In high school at ALUWED, I had ambitious plans for further education. I really wanted to go to my
dream university and my desire was passionate. But my parents did not let me study abroad. I
understood their feelings about me.
So I decided to stay in my home country. In order not to waste time, I began to study myself: using
Internet resources and books. In addition, my computer science teacher offered me an internship
in back-end development after I graduated, which greatly helped me learn a new direction.
Speaking of a new direction for myself, I also tried the gym to maintain my health and strengthen
my muscles and bones, which developed my discipline and resilience.
Taking a gap year was the right decision, in my opinion, since I have now matured, become more
disciplined and responsible, and am now determined to study abroad. My parents, realizing that I
was no longer a little dependent child, nevertheless gave the go-ahead to study far from my home.
My decision to continue my studies at the Academic Lyceum of the University of World Economy
and Diplomacy was due to two reasons.
First, this educational institution offered education in the field of "Exact Sciences" in a more in-
depth format compared to schools, along with a flexible schedule allowing each student to
demonstrate their abilities, effectively using such a valuable resource as time.
The second reason was that you can enroll in this lyceum, as in others similar to our republic, only
after the 9th grade and having successfully passed the organized entrance exams, which will
create a rather competitive environment of many students during their studies.
In my opinion, this decision turned out to be correct, because I was able to better understand my
personal strengths and weaknesses, and also improve my knowledge in the field of “Exact
Sciences”.

Goals/Interest
When did I first learn about AI? This happened in 2017 after watching an interview with the
humanoid robot Sophia. This was the starting point of my interest in AI and CS, after which I began
to actively seek knowledge in these areas. I read many books: one of them, Daniel H. Wilson’s
book “Robocalypse,” alerted me to the idea of AI that is capable of destroying humanity. But still, I
think that this, as Andrew Ng compared the emergence of killer robots with overpopulation on
Mars, is unlikely to happen.
Studying CS will prepare me to solve various problems affecting my community. Humanity, in
collaboration with AI, will be able to find effective ways to solve problems at various levels, as well
as create an effective environment in which AI and people cooperate for overall improvement and
development.
