1 Description
Ardrox® 5502, 5503 and 5504 are clear, colorless, mobile solvent cleaners with different flash
points and volatility. They meet the requirements of the MIL-PRF-680.
Ardrox® 5502, 5503 and 5504 are intended for use as a general industrial solvent cleaner for
oils and greases.

3 Method of use
Ardrox® 5502, 5503 and 5504 may be used by any of the conventional methods such as
spraying, dipping or brushing. Soak tanks should be constructed with a lid in order to minimize
solvent losses by evaporation.
4 Effects on materials
When used in the prescribed manner Ardrox® 5502, 5503 or 5504 have no corrosive effect
on most of metals, including copper, magnesium, aluminum, cadmium and mild steel.
However, contamination with water or steam may result in corrosion and must therefore be
prevented.

No significant effect is likely to be encountered on the most commonly used plastic materials
but intending users are advised to check the compatibility of their materials with Ardrox® 5502,
5503 or 5504 before use.
Ardrox® 5502, 5503 or 5504 may cause some rubbers, particularly those based on natural
rubber, to swell after prolonged contact.
5 Shelf life, storage and disposal
Please refer to the corresponding Material Safety Data Sheets for details on shelf life, storage
and disposal.
6 Labor and environmental protection
Before operating the process described it is important that this complete document, together
with any relevant Safety Data Sheets, be read and understood. All local and national
regulations on the transport, storage, use and waste treatment of chemicals in concentrated
or diluted form and as working solutions must be obeyed.
