Prologue
Charlotte Midnight
‘Change’, I said through mind link to the Rogue stood in
front of me. The wolf version of myself stared down at the
rogue that had entered my fathers land. When I turned
sixteen and changed into my pure white wolf with orange
ears, my dad let me begin going on rounds, this is the third
rogue I have ever come across so I am really nervous. If you
are wondering my name is Charlotte Midnight and I am alpha
Midnight’s daughter. I belong to the midnight moon pack and
I am seventeen years old.
I got Austin, my second in command, to throw the rogue a
t-shirt and boxer shorts. The rogue walked behind a tree and
changed into its human form and dressed in the clothes we
offered.
From behind the tree walked out a young, petite female
girl. She had light brown hair just like mine, with green eyes,
which aren’t like mine, my eyes are a mix between blue and
silver. She must have noticed that I have Alpha blood because
she bowed her head in respect.
I walked on four paws until I was behind a tree and
changed into my small human form. I put on my bra and
underwear, shorts and a singlet before walking in front of the
tree.
“State your name and business in our land and we might
let you live,” I said with power dripping from my mouth. I
wouldn’t really kill her but its just the standard thing we say
to any rogues that trespass into our land.
“M-my name is Jessica. I ran away from my old pack, the
Red Blood pack. I didn’t realise this was part of your land, I-I
was just planning on passing through until I find a n-new
pack,” she said nervously.
“Let me guess, you’re a spy sent by the Red Blood pack,” I
stated.
“N-no I promise, I couldn’t stand that pack, running
seemed like my only option.”
“And if I let you go, what would you do?” I said, my words
flowing with confidence.
“Find pack, I mean, uh, I would try find a pack, that would,
umm, let me join,” Jessica stumbled as she nervously looked
around at the wolves I was with.
“Would you like to join our pack Jessica?” I finally asked.
“I-I don’t know,” she pondered.
“Don’t worry we are not like the Red Blood pack, we are
considering and caring and we can give you a nice home,” I
offered.
She didn’t do anything but nod. I walked over to her and
gave her a warm smile. “Don’t worry, you will fit in perfectly
here, how old are you?” I asked and began walking back to the
pack house with Austin behind us. The rest of the wolves that
we ran with continued doing rounds to look out for other
rogues or Red Blood spies.
“Sixteen,” she softly replied
“Huh, we are only a year apart, maybe we could be
friends?”
“Are you sure Luna?” she questioned
“No, no, no I am not the Luna,” I laughed, “I’m Alpha
Midnight’s daughter, you can just call me Charlotte or
Charlie.”
“Okay Charlotte.”
We continued walking to the pack house for another 10
minutes, just talking about ourselves and what we do. As me
and Jessica walked into the house while Austin changed into
his human form, everyone stared at us, well mostly staring at
the new pack member. I walked towards my dads office and
knocked on the door waiting patiently with Jessica.
“Come in,” my dad said from inside. I nodded towards
Jessica and she nodded in reply before we both walked into
my dads office.
“Hey dad, this is Jessica,” I said motioning to Jess with my
hands.
“Charlotte Ava Midnight! What have I told you about
picking up every rogue that enters are land and inviting them
into our pack, we have to have some boundaries.”
“Yeah but its just Jess,” I smiled cheekily knowing that I
have won. My dad does anything for me as I am his only
daughter. Its kind of funny because my two older brothers get
really jealous of the special treatment I receive from dad.
“Hello Alpha Midnight,” Jessica said and bowed her head,
“my name is Jessica Elder and I would highly appreciate it if
you could allow me to join your pack,” Jess began. She
seemed really confident and highly ranked, obviously her
voice had no affect on my dad since he was an Alpha but it just
leaves me questioning who she is and why she ran away.
“Yes you can join my pack, I couldn’t leave a young pup
like you on the streets,” my dad chuckled. Yeah my dad may
seem tough when you first meet him but he truly is soft as a
kitten. “Lottie can you take Ms Elder’s to her room? Room
C34.”
Yes, my dad calls me Lottie… but no one else in the world
can.
“Sure dad,” I replied before walking out of his office with
Jess following behind me.
As I walked with Jess to show her to her room, my dad
reached to me through the pack link, ‘keep an eye on her, if
she starts to act suspiciously, we will interrogate her.’
‘Will do, dad,’ I replied.
We finally reached her room and I left her to settle in. I
walked down stairs to the lounge room and rested on the
couches with Austin and some other pack members.
Ayden Red
I ran at full Alpha speed towards the place where I smelt
the rogue. I cant deal with this at the moment. I let my pitch
black wolf with orange ears lead the way. I saw the boring
brown wolf ahead of me and I pounced on it. The mutt fought
back before practically giving in. I bit into its neck and it
dropped down to the floor dead.
Some people may think its ruthless to kill them on the spot
but I do it to every rogue or Midnight moon spy that enters
my land.
The rogues that enter my land must be extremely stupid
because every one knows what I do to rogues.
I left the body of the dead wolf lying on the floor for my
men to clean up and dispose of and I walked away in victory.
No one can beat me in any fight, I have trained so hard for
this, I have trained so hard to defeat Joseph Midnight, the
Alpha of Midnight Moon which just so happens to be the
murderer or my parents.
I let out a growl as I run back to my house. Just at the
thought of what that man did to my parents makes me sick.
He will pay for what he did.
I decided to go to my pack house instead of to my house so
I can plan war against the Midnight moon pack. At arrival I
ran into a changing room and shifted into my human form.
Since we have many wolves arriving at our pack house (and
there is a no wolf in the pack house policy) I put changing
rooms outside of the house with clothes stored in them for
the privacy of my pack members. I may be know as a
murderess Alpha but I care about my pack a lot and I only do
the things I do to protect them.
I walked into my office and ordered a highly ranked pack
meeting through mind link. Within ten minutes the
conference room was full of my highly ranked pack members
and some of my best fighters.
“Okay I have called this meeting to order another attack
against the Midnight Moon pack.” I began softly but spat out
the words Midnight Moon Pack.
“Excuse me Alpha, do you really think its wise to attack
again? We only came out of battle with them 4 months ago,”
the only female in the room began. She is my pack warrior,
that is the only reason she is here. Most woman seem to be
nosy and complain about everything that is the reasons I
don’t normally involve them in pack business.
“Are you questioning my ability as Alpha?” I roared using
my powerful Alpha tone.
“No sir, I just think it would be better if we held off for a
while,” she started confidently. Non of the people in the room
are cowards so no one would be nervous when I use my Alpha
tone… unless I am really angry.
“I will ‘hold off’” I said mocking her voice, “when Joseph
Midnight and his mate are dead!”
She nodded her head to me understanding what I meant,
they also killed her parents in battle. Her name is Georgia and
she is very young I think, somewhere around 18. She is quite
beautiful but I am not the type to play women, I am waiting
for my mate, or an odd fuck. I used to find joy out of playing
with girls hearts, but after my parents were murdered, I
realised what it was like to get my heart torn into pieces. Now
I only have the occasional fling, but the women know that
nothing will come out of it.
We stayed in the room until we had finished planning our
attack. We are going for the surprise option and in two days
we will attack from our north-east border.
Hopefully, if I don’t kill Joseph himself, I will kill one of
there family members in this battle. He will feel the pain that I
felt all those years ago.
In my story I will use formal titles:
Alpha (commander of the pack)
Beta (second in command)
Gamma (third in command)
Delta (fourth in command)
Epsilon (fifth in the command)
Luna (Alpha female)
To help you remember the title orders just think of the
alphabet:
A (Alpha)
B (Beta)
Almost a C (Gamma)
D (Delta)
E (Epsilon)

Chapter 2
Charlotte Midnight
Jessica and I have gotten along really well since I found her
and I was currently giving her a tour of the land. My dad
allowed me and Jess to go out alone as long as we were back
before 6pm for dinner. It was fine with me because he barely
lets me out without my second in command so it was really
rare for this to happen.
I suddenly came to a halt as I smelt an unusual smell off in
the distance.
Red Blood pack spies.
I changed my direction so I was going in the direction of
were I smelt the rouges. I couldn’t smell anyone from my
pack going to the scene so I knew I was alone in this fight.
I walked up to the 6 werewolves. I was a little
outnumbered but I might stand a chance with Jess following
behind me. There were 5 in wolf form and one female in
human form. They didn’t look like they were ready to fight so
I guess they were here to talk. I nodded my head at Jess before
walking behind a tree and changing into human form and
putting on some clothes I had in my backpack I carried
between my teeth.
“State your name and purpose in my land and I might let
you live,” I stated clearly as I walked out from behind the tree.
The group snickered at my statement. I noticed two more
wolves have changed into human form, both fit male wolves.
“Your land?” one of the men questioned.
“Did I stutter? You heard my correctly now state your
name and purpose,” I growled impatiently and frustrated
because they didn’t think it was my land. My dad may be
Alpha but it is still my land.
“Do you think you could hurt six wo—” one man began
but was silenced by the woman.
“My name is Georgia Hartley, Pack Warrior of Red Blood
pack. My purpose is to talk to Alpha Midnight about a treaty
with Alpha Red,” the woman said. She had long natural red
hair that flowed naturally down her back. I couldn’t see her
eyes from this distance but she was certainly beautiful.
“Alpha Midnight is busy, I don’t believe in such treaty,” I
said questioningly
“Yes, the treaty was arranged earlier, we just need Alpha
Midnight to sign,” she lied. It was obvious she was lying,
especially to me. I growled loudly and powerfully. Birds
nearby fled from there tree’s at the noise and the leaves fell of
the tree’s at the vibration of the noise.
The wolves in front of me were shocked. I was also a bit
shocked but I wouldn’t tell anyone that.
“I don’t appreciate being lied to.”
With one nod of Georgia’s head the three wolves attacked.
They all launched at me while the other three in human form
just stood back and watched. Jess jumped in front of me and
pushed one of the wolves back leaving me with the other two.
I jumped at one of them which appeared to be the weakest
and changed into my snow-white wolf, with orange ears in
mid air.
I bit into the wolves neck and left it there. I made sure the
bite would leave him in pain, unable to move, but not enough
to kill him. He could be useful for information.
I felt a sharp pain in my left leg which caused me to
whimper in pain. The pain continued to shoot through my leg
as the other wolf didn’t release its grip. I kicked my right leg
causing the wolf to release its bite and back of slightly,
leaving me with time to turn around in preparation of a
defence attack.
As the wolf and I stared into each other’s ferocious eyes,
an aggressive growl reached our ears.
All fighting stopped and I turned to look at where the
growl came from. Out came my second in command, Austin;
my dad; and his Beta, Christian. The wolf behind me sank his
teeth into my left leg again causing even more pain to ripple
through my body. I whimpered again and was about to turn
around to snap at him before Austin jumped in the air and
changed into his light brown wolf and attacked him, killing
him on spot.
Jessica had already killed the other wolf and was standing
proudly in victory. Snarling down at her old pack members
limp body.
Georgia and the other two men in human form looked
around before turning and fleeing from the scene like the
cowards they are. Within seconds of them disappearing into
the distance, I collapsed to the ground in pain and changed
into my naked human form. My bare light skinned leg had a
deep bite mark in and was drowning in blood.
My dad’s Beta who was still in human form took of his t-
shirt and handed it to me whilst looking away to show
respect. I threw the shirt over my head and sat up with my
legs in front of me.
“Are you okay!?” Austin asked heading towards me in a
pair of shorts he found somewhere. I must admit Austin was
pretty cute, he had messy, light brown hair like his wolf and
had dark brown eyes also like his wolf. He was 19 years old
and I really wish he was my mate because we get along so
well, but we both haven’t found our mates yet.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I replied.
“Are you sure?” my dad asked inspecting my leg.
“Yeah, the wolf over there is still alive, you know, for
questioning,” I said trying to stand up but failing miserably
“Austin carry Lottie back to the pack house, Christian take
the Rouge back to the pack prison,” My dad said.
Austin picked me up bridal style while Christian threw the
naked body of the unconscious rouge over his shoulder. I
cuddled into Austin arms and relaxed. Jessica followed behind
us in wolf form and my dad followed Christian, I guess he was
going to question and most likely torture the Rouge.
Once we arrived at the pack house, Austin carried me up to
pack doctors room and knocked on the door.
“Come in,” the familiar feminine voice said.
Austin pushed the door open with his foot and laid me
down on Dr Muller’s bed.
“Oh my, what happed Miss Midnight?” Dr Muller
questioned as she inspected my leg.
“Red Blood pack spies near the border,” is all I said.
She nodded her head and attended to my leg.
‘Red Blood Pack has declared another war, all fighters to
the southern border immediately!’ my farther roared to the
entire pack trough mind link.
My head snapped towards Austin and he was looking back
at me. I smirked and nodded my head.
“Oh no Miss Midnight, you will not fight this time!
Especially with your injury! You will stay back here this time
and wait for the battle to finish,” Dr Muller stated.
“I have to fight! I am fine, my leg doesn’t even hurt,” I
cried out even though my leg was still throbbing from the
pain.
“I will not allow you to fight! You will most likely die with
your injury!”
“Fine,” I mumbled, I knew she was right, I just wanted to
be useful to my pack, “Austin I know you want to go, so go.”
“Alright, you better be healed by the time I come back,” he
said playfully before heading out the room. I heard Jessica yell
“IM COMING TO!” which made me smile. I made a good
choice allowing her to be part of the pack.
I sighed and got up from Dr Muller’s bed and limped to my
room.
“You better not even think about fighting or I will tell your
dad and your brothers!” Dr Muller yelled at me as I left her
room. I gulped, why did she have to mention my over
protective brothers?
I sat in my room in deep thought. I heard howls of pain and
victory in the distance and I knew it was time for me to fight. I
jumped of the chair I was sat on and pain fired through my
leg. I collapsed to the ground and in that moment I knew
fighting wasn’t an option… but who said anything about
shooting?
Since wolves don’t really have the need for guns, I picked
up my bow and arrow and started walking towards my
window. I jumped out the window that was on the second
story of the pack house and landed on my hands and right leg
with ease.
I began running towards the scene of the fight with only a
little difficulty since my leg was already healing due to my
wolf healing abilities. After five minutes of running my leg
was feeling fine but I knew it wasn’t fully healed.
The battle was only a couple of hundred metres away so I
climbed up the closest tree and jumped from one tree to
another.
I was finally on view of the battle and it appeared that Red
Blood pack was winning, our pack members were dropping
like flies. I settled on a branch of a tree in close view of war
and I began shooting at the Red Blood pack members.
I saw a Red Blood pack member launch it self at the wolf I
recognised to be as Austin. I shot the wolf in mid air and it fell
to the ground, dead. I smirked in victory and my inner wolf
howled. I kept shooting at the ruthless wolves for a couple of
minutes until an unfamiliar scent hit my nose.
I stopped shooting and looked around for the scent. It was
a mixture between woods, mint and the morning dew. It was
beautiful and my wolf craved it. My wolf, Aria, was howling
for joy and I couldn’t quite understand why.
I looked around and my eyes stopped when they hit a large
black wolf with orange ears, just like mine. His eyes looked up
at mine and they shone brightly.
‘MATE! MATE!’ my wolf screamed at me. This is not a
good time to find my one true love, my soul mate.
Ayden Red’s POV
I proudly lead my pack onto Midnight Moon territory to
attack, I know this surprise attack will lead to something
good.
‘They know you are coming Alpha,’ one of my pack
fighters said through mind link, ‘I’m sorry, they tortured me
until I told them.’
I growled loudly.
I notified my pack members that this is no longer a
surprise attack but is know a usual war. Within two or three
minutes Midnight Moon pack fighters were fighting back.
We were winning until all my pack members began
dropping to the floor without being attacked. Someone from
round here was shooting at us. I know my pack doesn’t
always play by the rules but this is dirty tactics.
I continued fighting trying to ignore the shooter until I
took in the most beautiful scent I have ever smelt. It was a
mix between roses, the woods and peaches. I loved it so much
and my wolf was shouting at me to look for it.
I looked up and saw a girl sat in the trees with a bow and
arrow in her hands. Its her. My mate.
‘OUR MATE!’ my wolf yelled at me, ‘Our beautiful mate.’
‘Everyone retreat when safe to do so,’ I called to my pack
members in mind link, ‘I have found my mate.’

Chapter 3
Charlotte Midnight
We stared into each others eyes for what felt like eternity. I
have no clue of what is names is but I know I already love
him, in a way.
I saw a low grade fighter wolf from my pack launch
himself at my mate. I quickly aimed my bow and arrow and
shot him. I just shot my own pack member to save someone I
just met. What is wrong with me?
‘He isn’t just someone, he is our mate!’ My wolf cried out
to me.
I aimed my bow again but this time to shoot a Red Blood
pack member but stopped when I heard a growl from below
me, below the tree I was sat in.
I looked down and saw my black and orange mate glaring
at me. I put my bow down and looked at his penetrating gaze.
He jumped up the tree and climbed onto the branch I was sat
on. His eyes still gazing into mine, I lifted up my hand and
patted his muzzle. His eyes shut in ecstasy and leaned into my
touch. Sparks flew all around my body causing me to forget all
about the war taking place below us.
I looked down and saw all Red Blood pack wolves
retreating. My pack members howled in victory and returned
pack to the pack house. I stayed in my place, just petting my
mate softly.
After a couple of minutes of sitting in silence, my beautiful
mate changed into his human form. There, sat in front of me
was my naked, extremely hot and muscly mate. He had dark
brown hair and deep blue eyes. His eight pack was on display
for me to see and he had a beautiful smile covering his face.
“I finally found you sweetheart,” he whispered, caressing
my face. A smile wiped across my face and bliss took over.
This is the best moment of my life, “you’re mine,” he
exclaimed with a growl that had so much power that it made
me jump back and gasp.
“I’m sorry,” he said moving closer to me without falling
out the tree, “what’s your name sweetheart?”
“Charlotte Midnight.”
“As in the daughter of Joseph Midnight?” he growled. I
nodded my head cautiously which caused him to growl even
louder with more power then ever. His growl made me jump
and fall out of the tree we were in. I squeezed my eyes shut as
I waited for the hard impact of the ground but it never came.
Instead I felt myself fall into a warm and hard chest, sparks
flew and I knew exactly who it was.
“I’m Ayden Red, Alpha of Red Blood,” my mate said
proudly.
“A-Alpha Red?” I questioned. Why did I stutter? Ugh I’m
an idiot!
“Yes sweetheart, come on, lets go back to my land,” he
said and started walking south, with me in his arms, still
naked, away from my land. I tried to get out of his arms but he
kept his grip tight. I really didn’t want to go to Red Blood
land, especially with the ruthless Alpha.
‘He is our mate, he wouldn’t hurt us,’ my wolf practically
shouted at me.
‘how would you know? He is the ruthless Alpha Red that is
trying to kill my whole family!’ I snapped in reply to my wolf.
‘Well even though I haven’t spoken to his wolf yet, I can
already tell that he is sweet and caring deep down, I’m sure he
love us as much as I love them, and-’ my wolf kept saying
more things but I blocked her out. She can get really annoying
sometimes.
“STOP STRUGGLING!” Ayden snapped at me. My eyes
widened at his tone of voice and I did indeed stop struggling.
We finally crossed the border between our land. This is the
first time I have ever been in Red Blood land and it gave me
the shivers.
“Are you okay?” my mate asked with concern, “I didn’t
mean to scare you, I’m sorry.”
“Um, its not that its just,” I began but then looked down
and shock my head, “its nothing.”
“Tell me sweetheart.”
“This is the first time I have ever been in Red Blood
territory, and I don’t want to be here,” I mumbled the last bit
quietly.
“You are mine! You will stay with me in our land,” Ayden
growled. My wolf and I whimpered at his tone of voice and I
lowered my head in submission.
We continued to walk for a little while, about 200 meters
before Ayden put me down. He turned me around to look into
my eyes before speaking.
“Would you like to go for a run?” he asked and I nodded.
“Okay we can run back to my house which is away from
the pack house,” he said and smiled at me, “but if you even
try and run away there will be punishments,” he said and I
gulped loudly, “Got that?” he questioned and I nodded.
I didn’t bother changing out of my clothes that I put on
earlier so I just changed where I was and ripped out of my
clothes.
“You’re so beautiful,” Ayden said walking up to me and
putting his hand softly on my head. I looked down slightly
and leaned into his touch. I might not want to be on this land
but I want to be here with him, I want to feel his touch.
After a couple of minutes he changed into his wolf. I must
admit we looked perfect together. His large black wolf with
orange ears protectively standing next to my smaller white
wolf with the same shade of orange ears.
We began running through the woods, he was in front of
me leading the way and he occasionally glanced back at me to
see if I was still here.
I considered running away from him multiple times but
every time I was about to he looked at me like he knew what I
was going to do.
We ran until we approached a building. It had a nice
cottagey feel to it. I looked over at Ayden to see he had
changed and was stood in front of me completely naked once
again.
“I know you will probably feel slightly uncomfortable
shifting in front of me since we just met, so I’ll quickly go
inside and grab us some clothes,” he said before turning
around and walking into the house.
I looked around at my surroundings and figured out which
way we came. If I ran now I should make it half way to the
border before he realises I’m gone, that is if I run in wolf
form. With one last look behind me a began running in the
direction we just came in. I sprinted as fast as I possibly could
towards the border.
I heard leaves crunch behind me, there were too many
footprints to be just one wolf. I felt claws scrape against my
back as an increasing amount of pressure was placed on my
back. I was tackled to the ground, the wolf above me rolled off
me and growled lowly at me.
I got off the ground and looked around at the four wolves
surrounding me, they were all much bigger then my small
wolf but I still had Alpha blood in me so I could take on at
least two of them, not all four though. They all changed into
human form and pulled on some shorts, the one that had just
tackled me to the ground threw me a yellow summer dress.
“Change,” he growled. It was obvious he was either a Beta
or Gamma because he had a strong voice.
I had no choice but to change in front of the four male
wolves. I changed from my wolf form and into my naked
human form and slipped on the dress. I glared at the wolves in
front of me as three of them stared at me with lust, I knew the
other one had already found there mate.
“I’m Vince, Pack Gamma,” he said proudly, I knew he
sounded like a third in command, “You know what we do with
rogues when they trespass on our land?” he said with a smirk
plastered on his face.
“W-what?” I asked. I know I should just tell him who I am
but I want to know what they do. I am not feeling optimistic
about the outcome though. Even if I did tell him im not a
rogue what would I tell him? Oh I am just Charlotte Midnight,
daughter of Alpha Midnight, you know the family you have
been trying to kill? Or would I say I am your Alpha’s mate, I
am running away from him right now, please let me go? No so
I am just going to stick with rogue.
“We kill them,” he said and began laughing sickly. The
men behind him laughed as well. My eyes widened in fear as I
took steps back trying to make space between me and the
monsters in front of me, “don’t be scared young one, it wont
hurt that much,” he smirked and began laughing again.
I backed up until my back hit a tree, with only two large
steps his was in front of me, breathing down on me. He took
one of his large hands and wrapped it around my neck and
with ease he lifted my whole body up like I had the mass of a
feather.
“I lied about this not hurting,” he said and chuckled
darkly, I began squirming in his grip. I didn’t everything in
my power to stop him from chocking me. I tried removing his
hand from my neck, I tried kicking him in the balls, I tried
poking his eyes but nothing worked. As soon as I felt my
consciousness disappear, a large growl rippled through the
area.
Vince dropped me and turned to the growl, which I know is
Ayden’s. Not because of the power that poured out of the
growl but because of his god-like scent.
I began coughing like I hadn’t breathed in a millennium, it
truly did feel like that though. I looked up at Vince’s back,
sending him glares which he couldn’t see.
“Alpha,” Vince said and bowed his head. Vince was
suddenly pushed out the way, his body was sent flying across
the area we were in and his limp body slammed into a tree.
“Charlotte, sweetheart, are you okay?” He worried and
bent down and picked me up. He pulled me into a tight hug
and whispered sweet nothings into my ear, maybe he’s not so
bad. He turned around to face his men and pulled me
protectively behind his back. I couldn’t see over Ayden’s tall
figure but I could feel the fear radiating off the men, mostly
Vince.
“How dare you lay your hands on your Luna!” Ayden
snarled, his voice was in full business tone and I hate to admit
it but it was a bit of a turn on.
“Alpha, we were unaware she was our Luna, we believed
she was a rogue,” one of the other wolves spoke up, he also
had power dripping from his mouth, not as much as Vince so I
am guessing he is the Delta (fourth in command).
“You may be my Epsilon (fifth in command) but I wont
hesitate to rip you to shreds,” Ayden threatened, “since Vince
was the only one to hurt my mate, and since I can not kill my
Gamma, he will be the only one to be punished.”
An audible gulp was heard from Vince whom had stood up
and joined the rest of the men. That the only thing I could see
from over Ayden’s shoulder.
“Carter, take Vince and his mate to the pack prison, cell
42, no food or water,” Ayden said before turning back round
to me. I looked behind Ayden and saw the Epsilon, which I
now know is Carter, taking Vince away and all the other men
followed him.
Ayden looked me in the eye before speaking a lot softer
then I expected him to, “why did you run away from me? You
could have gotten yourself killed! You nearly did, people in
my pack don’t know your my mate, they would kill you on
site, I couldn’t live with myself if you had died,” he said
softly. He almost looked broken? His eyes were slightly
watering and his voice cracked in parts when he talked.
“I’m sorry,” I croaked. My throat still hurt a lot from
nearly getting strangled to death but I was quickly healing
because of my wolf. His eye’s softened a lot more and he
looked disappointed but not in me, in himself.
“Lets get you home so you can rest,” he said and wrapped
his arm around my waist and began walking towards his
house, or should I say our house, “I’m never letting you out
of my sight ever again, well not until I can trust you again.”
I guess my chance of escape just flew out the window.

Chapter 4
Charlotte Midnight
When I got back to his house I was shocked to see how
clean it was. He led my upstairs and into a small cosy room. It
appeared to be a master suite since it had two doors coming
off it leading to a bathroom and a walk-in-robe. The room
was quite small but it just added to the cottagey feel to the
house, the room had a double sized bed in the middle and bed
side tables either side, it also had glass, French doors leading
onto a balcony.
“Sleep,” Ayden commanded before walking away. As he
was about to walk out the door I spoke up.
“Is that all you are going to say to me?” I questioned in a
small voice.
“I don’t have anything else to say to you,” he spat, he was
about to walk out the door again before he turned around to
look at me again, “Why did you run away from me?” he
questioned but before I could answer he rose his voice, “HOW
DARE YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME! I didn’t do anything to hurt
you. There was no reason to run away from your mate. We are
supposed to want to be together!” he roared in his Alpha
tone, I uncontrollably whimpered at his tone and so did my
wolf, his eyes softened and so did his tone, “don’t you want to
be with me?”
“I ran away because I don’t want to be here, I don’t want
to be here with you,” I whispered, if Ayden didn’t have wolf
hearing he probably wouldn’t have heard it. I looked down at
the ground, well, I looked anywhere away from his eyes. The
truth is I did want to be with him, just not his pack, he may be
a mean, ruthless Alpha but he is still mine, my mate.
Without any warning, Ayden stepped outside of the room
and slammed the door shut, causing the whole house to shake
from the vibration. I whimpered again at the loud noise that
truly did scare me, he truly did scare me. But the slamming of
the door wasn’t the thing that scared me the most, it was the
locking sound that came next.
I quickly ran towards the door and pounded my fist against
the wooden surface, “Ayden don’t do this!” I shouted through
the door, but it was too late. I knew he had already walked
away.
I sighed and turned around to look at the bed, I wasn’t
tired at all, I was more awake then ever to be honest. I walked
over to the French doors and opened them. I walked onto the
balcony and saw a small round table with two chairs around
it. I pulled one of the chairs out and sat down, just looking at
the scenery and taking in the fresh air.
I probably could have jumped off the balcony right now
and left, but I didn’t feel the need to. I had a gut feeling this is
where I am supposed to be, like I have a purpose for being
here. I would just much rather be at home with my family for
a little longer.
I was about to go back inside the room when I heard the
front door open and slam again. I stood up and peaked over
the balcony rail to see a frustrated looking Ayden. He was
pacing back and forth under the balcony I was stood on. He
threw his head back and roughly rubbed his face.
“What the fuck am I going to do?” he groaned, he was
obviously talking to himself.
He sat down on the pebble surfaced road and picked one of
the pebbles up only to throw it across the road. He picked
another pebble up but kept it in his hands, just playing with it.
He looked up at the roof but luckily he didn’t see me, his
eyes had tears in them which surprised me. I had never seen
any Alpha cry before, all though I had only met my dad, Ayden
and two other Alphas.
A man from before, which I had recognized as Carter, was
walking over to the house. I ducked down behind the rails
hopping he hadn’t seen me. I sat down and pressed my ear to
the rail trying to listen as carefully as possible.
“Hey man, what’s up?” Carter spoke, I could tell he was
still walking over to Ayden since footsteps on the rough
surface was audible. I heard a frustrated sigh which I am
assuming left my mates lips and the footsteps stopped, I
guess Carter had reached Ayden.
“What’s wrong? I haven’t seen you this upset since…”
Carter said and mumbled something at the end which I
couldn’t quite catch.
“My mate,” Ayden begun, it pained me to hear his voice so
broken, especially knowing that I was the cause, “she doesn’t
want me, she doesn’t love me.”
Ayden Red
“Of course she wants you, man, she just might not be used
to it yet. Show her you care about her, trust her and most of
all love her, and I promise you she will open up about it,”
Carter said as he sat down next to me, “Oh and if it makes you
feel better, I want you,” he said and batted his eye lashes like
a girl.
Carter has been my best friend since I was about 5 years
old and he has been with me through everything. He is one of
the only people alive that can me laugh and smile in times
when I really just want to murder someone. He is also my
Epsilon and one of my very good pack fighters, probably my
most trusted fighter and that’s the reason why a couple of
years ago I said to him when I find my mate, I wanted him to
be her guard. So not only is he my best friend, pack fighter,
Epsilon and the Luna’s guard but he is also someone I trust
with my life.
I laughed at his joke, “Sorry man I’m taken now,” I
groaned and dropped my head to the gound before lifting it
up again and looking at Carter, “I just, I don’t know what to
do, how can I show her that I love her when she runs away
from me?”
“Do you want me to talk to her? Ask her why she ran
away?” Carter asked. I let out a animal-like growl in
response. Just the thought of my mate opening up to someone
that wasn’t me made me want to attack my best friend. “You
know I would never do anything to hurt my Luna, and you are
going to have to trust me to be alone with her as I am her
guard,” he stated proudly.
“Fine,” I growled. My wolf wasn’t happy at all letting
Carter alone with our mate but I knew Carter wouldn’t touch
her, he would only protect her. I knew I couldn’t handle
myself or my wolf if I was in the house while Carter was with
my mate when I couldn’t be, so I decided to run to the pack
prison to check on Vince, “I’m going for a run, if you touch
her in any way, I will kill you. Best friend or not.”
I took my shorts off and shifted into my mostly black wolf.
I picked my shorts up with my teeth and ran away from the
house. As I got closer to the tree line that surrounds my
house, I looked back and saw Charlotte walk through the
balcony doors and into our bedroom. Damn, she must of
heard the whole thing.
I shook my head slightly and ran towards the pack house
and pack prison. Before entering, I shifted into my human
form and slid on my shorts.
I walked around the pack house towards the prison, I
punched in the code to unlock the bullet-proof, silver, double
doors that lock the prisoners in. I only made the doors like
this after three rogues escaped two years ago, now, I manly
kill the rogues on site, however, if they are lucky enough to
have a chance and come to the pack prison, the doors are
impossible to break unless you know the code.
I walked down the stairs to the underground prison, I
walked past the many guards and many prisoners until I got
to cell number 42. Inside the dark, dingy, smelly prison cell,
held my Gamma and his mate, Victoria. Vince found Victoria a
couple of years ago, she was a rogue at the time but has soon
fitted in nicely to the pack, if she wasn’t Vince’s mate I would
have killed her though.
Victoria was sat on the bed crying and Vince was holding
her in his arms, trying to sooth his mate. Normally I would
not feel sorry for them at all, but since I found Charlotte, I
understand their pain, I feel rather empathetic. As soon as
Vince saw me he stood up and bowed his head in respect.
Nobody said a word, the only thing that could be heard is
Victoria’s sobs.
“Explain yourself,” I demanded in my Alpha tone. Victoria
whimpered back further but Vince held his ground, he knew if
he showed weakness, his title of Gamma would be dropped.
“Alpha ,” he bowed his head again, “Since the incident last
year with the escape of the rogues, you ordered us to kill any
rogue on site, I was just following orders.”
I growled loudly causing everyone to be silenced, even
Victoria’s sobs quietened.
“It was quite obvious by her scent she was not a rogue! It
was obvious she was a very powerful she-wolf from the
Midnight Moon pack! You shouldn’t have killed her on site
anyway!” I growled. I was still furious that he even touched
my mate, if it wasn’t for his title and these silver bars in
between us I would have ripped him to shreds.
“My mistake Alpha, I apologise,” Vince bowed his head in
defeat.
“As punishment you will stay in the cells for two weeks
unless an emergency occurs, you will be treated as
prisoners,” I punished. Victoria’s cries became louder and
Vince nodded his head before returning to help his mate.
Carter Haynes
Before I walked inside Ayden’s house I turned to look at
him run off into the tree line. He turned around one last time
to check up on his mate then ran towards the pack house. I
assumed he was going to either do some pack business or
punish Vince.
I opened the door to Ayden’s house and walked inside. I
have only ever been inside this house two or three times
before so I don’t really know my way around. Normally if me
and Ayden hang out we chill in the pack house since we have a
really cool games room and screening room. Also Ayden
doesn’t really like people in his house because he thinks home
is just a place for family, no visitors.
I walked up the stairs and knocked on Ayden’s bedroom
door. I didn’t hear a reply so I went ahead and opened the
door. I stepped inside the room and realised it was the guest
bedroom not the master bedroom and I had accidently opened
the wrong door. I sighed and closed the door before moving
along to the next door in the small hallway. I knocked on the
door again and this time I think I got the right door because I
heard a reply.
“Who is it?” A small, soft voice spoke.
“It’s Carter,” I replied. I don’t think she will know who I
am but I guess she was asking because she didn’t want it to be
Ayden, well that’s what I assumed after what Ayden said.
“Come in,” she sighed. I turned the handle and tried to
open the door but it was locked.
“Can you unlock the door?” I said and chuckled slightly.
That’s one thing about me, Most of the time, I can never take
thing seriously, I always joke and laugh.
“Uh, no,” she responded which left me confused, she just
said I can come in but she wont unlock the door, does she
want me to climb through the window? That actually sounds
fun I might go do that. I was about to walk away when she
spoke again, “the door is locked from the outside, you might
have to find a key.”
Did Ayden really lock her away and then complain to me
that she doesn’t love him? I wonder why.
I sighed and walked away, into the guest bedroom that I
recently found. It had a large window inside which was easy
to open. I opened the window and sat on the window ledge,
right next to the window I was sat on was the rail for Ayden’s
balcony.
I put my hand’s on the rail of the balcony and swung off
the window ledge, only to shortly after pull myself up and
onto the balcony. I knocked on the glass, balcony door and
waited for Ayden’s mate to open the door.
Since she wasn’t facing the door, she got startled and
jumped slightly when she heard the knock. She had a shocked
expression on her face and cautiously came over to the door
and opened it.
“Are you Carter?” she asked, even though it looked like
she already knew. I nodded in reply and stepped into her
room, “well its nice to actually meet you.”
“It’s nice to formally meet you to Luna,” I said and put my
hand out for her to shake it. She pushed it to the side and
opened her arms for a hug. I was a little weary to hug her
because if I did I might get my scent on her and then Ayden
would think the worst and probably kill me, but I couldn’t
turn down my Luna, or a hot chick.
I hugged her back and once she pulled away she smiled and
sat down on the bed, she patted the spot next to her and I sat
down beside her.
“You can call me Charlotte by the way,” she told me, “or
Charlie,” she paused and looked at the balcony doors before
she looked back to me, “how did you get up onto the
balcony?”
“Why? Thinking of escaping?” I joked and smirked.
“I already tried that but I almost got myself killed,” she
joked in reply, she sighed and looked down at her lap where
she was playing with her hands, “I just want to go outside,
but Ayden locked the door.”
“You know he only does it for your safety,” I began in a
serious tone, “he really does love you already Charlie.” She
smiled at the sound of her nickname.
“Are you sure? Because I think he does it to lock me up and
keep me away from everyone,” she groaned and leaned her
head on my shoulder. My wolf howled with joy because we
were getting along with our Luna so well, its always nice to
have strong bonds with an Alpha or Luna.
“Once he introduces you to the pack, he won’t lock you up,
it’s just because no one knows you are here and he doesn’t
want you to get hurt,” I retorted looking down at Charlotte.
“I guess, but I really want to go outside and explore,” she
whined, still playing with her hands on her lap.
“Well I might be able to take you,” I blurted out, she lifted
her head off my shoulder and looked at me questioningly,
“I’m not just pack Epsilon you know, I am also your guard,” I
stated proudly.
“Really?” she exclaimed and I nodded. She jumped off the
bed and grabbed my arm to get me off the bed, “well lets go
then!”
I got off the bed and was about to walk over to the balcony
when the bedroom door slammed open to an angry Ayden.
“CHARLOTTE WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE CARTER?”

Chapter 5
Charlotte Midnight
“CHARLOTTE WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE CARTER?” Ayden
growled as he burst into the room. His eyes were a dark shade
blue, almost black; his jaw was clenched shut; and his hands
formed tight fists at his side. He truly did look like the
terrifying, ruthless Alpha he is known to be.
I noticed I was still grabbing onto Carter’s arm and I
dropped his arm immediately. Ayden looked down at our
hands and growled when he realised I was previously holding
on to him. I whimpered slightly at his loud growl that echoed
through the room. Carter’s and Ayden’s eyes softened when
they heard me whimper but they still held their ground.
“We were just talking, I swear!” I tried to cover up. I don’t
know why but I felt like I had to explain myself to Ayden, even
though we weren’t technically together, I felt the need to
explain I am a faithful mate.
“Charlotte and I were about to go outside for some fresh
air, since I am her guard,” Carter said, ignoring me and
Ayden’s question but answering to why I was holding his arm.
“You’re not her guard any more,” Ayden snarled. He
started to walk over to me but I stepped back and put my
hands up, telling him to stop walking.
“What do you mean he’s not my guard? Does that mean I
don’t have one?” I asked.
“No, Vince or my Delta will be your guard,” he seethed,
trying to stay calm.
“No! Vince scares me,” I confessed, “I want Carter to stay
my guard, he is nice and friendly.”
Ayden growled and looked like he was deep in thought, or
he was having a discussion with his wolf.
“Fine, Carter will stay your guard,” he hissed, “Carter
you’re dismissed.”
Carter waved goodbye to me before walking to the balcony
and jumping off. I gasped and I was about to see if he made it
to the ground alright and that he wasn’t hurt, just as I turned
around to look, Ayden grabbed my wrist and pulled me into
him. He removed his hands from my wrist and pulled me into
a hug. He pushed his head in between my neck and shoulder,
breathing in my scent and also blowing his scent on to me,
probably trying to mask the smell of Carter.
“Charlie would you like to meet my pack?” Ayden asked
after a fair time of hugging. I was a little unsure whether or
not I wanted to meet the pack members, I feel like I still
belong to my old pack but if I get introduced to them, it pretty
much confirms I have moved packs, “Don’t worry Charlotte,
they will love you,” Ayden continued. I didn’t even think
about that, what if they don’t like me? What if they want
someone else as Luna? I didn’t even think about becoming a
Luna.
I didn’t trust myself to talk because if I did I would
probably blurt out all the things I was thinking. I have been
known to have verbal diarrhoea when I am in stressful
situations, which is not good when trying to keep a secret. I
just nodded my head and looked up at my mate.
“Good,” he smiled, “We can have a pack barbeque
tomorrow, around lunch time,” he said. Tomorrow is the
Friday I was meant to organise dinner for my pack, I was
really excited to do it but I guess I wont be able to do that
anymore.
“Okay,” I said but it came out more of a whisper, “can we
go out?” I asked politely and a little bit louder.
“Where do you want to go, sweetheart?” Ayden asked. He
seemed to be showing me he was a lot nicer then what I have
been told about him, I like this kind side of him. I noticed his
eyes had changed back to his normal shade of blue, maybe
even a little bit lighter.
“Just for a walk around the land,” I smiled.
“I don’t know,” he said cautiously, like he was thinking it
over in his head.
“Please,” I whispered and ran my finger down his chest. I
always did this in my pack to my second in command, Austin,
when I wanted to go out by myself. He would always insist he
would go with me but as soon as I played innocent but slightly
flirty, I got my way.
I looked up at Ayden and he nodded his head, his eyes had
now changed to a darker shade of blue, they were filled with
lust. Maybe its not so difficult to get what I want. Now that I
know Alpha Red has a weak spot, I can use it to my advantage.
Ayden turned around and walked out the door, I followed
behind him until we got outside. We stood side by side and
began walking around. Ayden’s hand reached for mine and we
intertwined our fingers as we walked.
If Ayden would have shown me this nice side of him when
we first met, I probably wouldn’t have run away and I
wouldn’t have said those horrible things about not wanting
him. Because I honestly cant fight the attraction I have to
him. Not just because of the mate bond but also because he is
extremely attractive, I’m not even going to try to deny that.
He is hotter then all of the guys in my old pack, probably even
hotter then most of them combined.
After about 20 minutes of walking around the land, hand
in hand, we approached a large building, it was much bigger
than my pack house.
“What’s that?” I asked pointing to the large building in the
distance.
“That’s the pack house, do you want to see it and meet
some people?” Ayden questioned and I nodded. As we got
closer, I saw lots of children playing on the large grass area
outside the house. As soon as they saw Ayden and me, they
stopped playing and looked at us, some of the younger
children even ran away to their mothers that were sitting and
watching.
“Why did they all stop playing? Is it because of me?” I
whispered to Ayden.
“No,” Ayden said shaking his head, “None of the children
here like me, they are all scared of me,” He said and he almost
looked sad about it but soon covered it up. I can see why they
kids would be scared of Ayden but I thought that Alpha’s were
meant to get along with the pack children.
We walked inside the pack house and as soon as we did I
heard the children began playing and laughing again. We
walking into a huge kitchen that looked like every cooks
dream. I must admit I have always loved cooking and I would
love to cook in this kitchen. I saw a lady who appeared to be in
her mid fifties cleaning the bench tops. Ayden cleared his
throat which caught her attention.
“Ms Parkston, this is my mate. Charlotte, this is Ms
Parkston, the pack cook,” Ayden introduced. Ms Parkston
looked shocked but soon covered her expression with joy.
“How wonderful Alpha! You finally found your mate,” Ms
Parkston cheered, “It’s lovely to meet you Luna,” she said
and put out her hand for me to shake it.
“It’s nice to meet you too, and please, just call me
Charlotte,” I replied and shook her hand. Ayden looked down
at me and gave me a questioning look but I shook it off, “You
have a really nice kitchen Ma’am, its really beautiful.”
“Thank you Charlotte,” Ms Parkston smiled and places the
dirty dish clothe she was previously cleaning with in a
washing basket.
Ayden growled at her, “You will address your Luna
formally.”
“Sorry Alpha, Sorry Luna,” Ms Parkston bowed her head.
“Ayden,” I hissed and lightly slapped his chest, although I
think it hurt my hand more then it hurt him, “I told her she
could call me Charlotte and I meant it.”
He sighed and mumbled something under his breathe that
I couldn’t quite hear.
“Come on Charlie, lets go to my office and meet my Beta,”
Ayden said and walked away. He went to clasp my hand with
his again but this time I moved my hand away from his, he
needs to know when he is rude he doesn’t get what he wants.
We walked into large office that had five desks in it. It had
a large book shelf filled with books that covered one whole
wall and a large cabining file that filled half the wall on
another side. There was one man inside the room, he had his
head down and he was reading some paper or a book, I
couldn’t quite tell.
“Joshua,” Ayden called, getting his attention, “I would
like you to meet my mate. Charlotte, this is my Beta, Joshua.”
“Alpha,” Joshua bowed his head at Ayden then turned to
me and glared, “Are you saying that Charlotte Midnight,
Daughter of Joseph Midnight is your mate,” Joshua hissed. He
spat my name and my dads name out like it was venom.
“Yes, you heard me, and you will treat your Luna with
respect otherwise you can join Vince in his cell,” Ayden
snapped. Joshua’s eyes grew wide and nodded his head at
Ayden, he then turned to me and hesitantly bowed his head.
“Sorry to bother you Alpha, but we have an urgent matter
we need to address, to do with the Midnight Moon pack,”
Joshua blurted. My head snapped towards him when he
mentioned my old pack, I looked up at Ayden and he sighed.
“Do you want to go and talk to Ms Parkston or find Carter
while I sought this out?” Ayden asked me. I knew he wouldn’t
let me listen to what is happening because he won’t fully be
able to trust me yet, I nodded and walked out the door. Just
before I walked out, Ayden pulled me back and kissed my
forehead, “Be safe and call out if you need any help.”
“Okay,” I said and walked out of the office. I walked
towards the kitchen and when I got there I couldn’t see Ms
Parkston anywhere. I saw the laundry basket was missing so I
assume she want to do some washing up or something like
that.
I decided I would go and try find Carter. I walked round the
first floor of the pack house, knocking on doors to see if he
was in any of them. I found out that none of the ground floors
were bedrooms, so if they were not locked I could just walk
straight in them. After trying about 10 doors and not finding a
single person around here I was about to give up.
I heard a male yell out of excitement, not a sexual
excitement but a cheerful excitement, a couple doors down. I
walked down to that door and I slowly opened it. Inside it was
a very darks room but had many lights. It looked like an
arcade since there were many games and things you could
win. I walked inside and I was about to close the door when it
slammed shut.
I loud growl echoed through the room and I looked up to
see a very tall man with large muscles staring down at me. My
breathing rate sped up and I stepped back a little trying to get
away from the man in front of me. A lot of other men had now
crowded around to see what was going on, not that they could
see much since it was dark.
“What are you doing here little thing?” The man in front
of me asked, he gently put his hand up to my check and
stroked it. I gulped in disgust and tried to turn away from his
touch, “how did a member of the Midnight Moon pack get
into our pack house?” he questioned again, talking to himself.
I maneuvered my hand which was behind my back and
grabbed the door handle. I slowly turned the handle and
prepared myself to open the door quickly and run. As I was
about to move, the man in front of me, quickly gripped my
forearm causing me to drop my hold on the door handle.
“And where do you think your going?” he asked again in a
dark voice. The tone on his voice was evil and unpleasant, the
men around him chuckled. I gasped at his strong hold on my
arm which hurt like hell but I managed to stay strong.
“Anywhere away from you,” I spat. Oh god, not my verbal
diarrhoea. The man in front of me chuckled, I decided I would
call him Evil Chucky from now on. He raised the hand that
wasn’t holding my arm and slapped my across the face. I
didn’t think to much of it actually, yeah it hurt like hell but I
found it funny that I just got slapped by Evil Chucky.
When he slapped me, my head automatically turned to the
side with the pressure of his slap. I turned my head back to
face him and spat in his face. Everyone around us laughed but
I could tell by Evil Chucky’s face that he wasn’t happy at all,
he was fuming.
Before Evil Chucky could say or do anything else, the lights
turned on causing everyone to look at the other door which I
assume is were the light switch is. Carter was stood at the
door with his eyebrows furrowed together. I don’t think he
could see me because I was behind evil chucky, he was just
looking around to see why everyone was crowded together.
“CARTER!” I yelled out. Carter finally looked over to me
and his eyes widened, he ran over and pulled Evil Chucky
away from me, even though Evil Chucky was a lot bigger and
had more muscles then Carter.
“Charlie are you okay?” Carter asked, his eyes visible
roamed my body for any sign of harm. I nodded my head in
reply and he pulled me into a hug. Once we pulled from our
hug, Carter turned to Evil Chucky and growled at him.
“Why are you protecting that pathetic Midnight Moon
spy,” Evil Chucky spat, “that bitch spat on me,” he continued
as he wiped the spit of his face. This made me laugh but I tried
not to, I put my head down and tried to muffle my laughs.
“What are you doing hurting our Luna,” Carter snapped
back. Gasps were heard all around the room.
Evil Chucky’s face was covered in fear… and still a little bit
of my spit.
“L-luna?” Evil Chucky chocked out. I looked around the
room and I noticed everyone in the room was male.
“Well I prefer to be called Charlotte or Charlie,” I smiled.
He may have just slapped me in the face but I find it hard to
not be friends with people or at least be nice to people.
“It’s nice to meet you Luna,” Evil Chucky said ignoring me
telling him to call me Charlotte or Charlie, “I’m Pack Delta,
Carlos.”
Yeah I am still going to call him Evil Chucky, not to his face
or anyone else, but in my mind he will always be, the one and
only, evil chucky.
“Its nice to meet you too,” I replied, “well its nice to meet
you when you’re not slapping me,” I laughed. Everyone else
laughed to, I’m not sure if they laughed because it was funny
or because I’m Luna but oh well, the only people not laughing
was Evil Chucky and Carter. Evil Chucky just looked really
guilty and murmured ‘sorry’.
“I cant believe you slapped your Luna!” Carter shouted, “I
cant wait to tell Ayden.”
“NO! you cant tell Alpha Red! He will kill me, please
don’t,” Evil Chucky pleaded, looking not so evil.
“It’s up to Charlie,” Carter said and looked at me, actually
everyone in the room was looking at me.
“Don’t worry, no one has to tell Ayden, you didn’t know,
you were just trying to protect your pack,” I smiled at Evil
Chucky and he let out a breath that he was holding.

Chapter 6
Charlotte Midnight
I was sat in what is called the games room in the pack
house with Carter, Evil Chucky and a couple of other guys.
Some of the people in the room were playing on the games or
just chatting to each other but some were sat round me
listening to me.
“I honestly don’t see how you could be Alpha Red’s mate,
your so nice and fun, more innocent then him,” One of the
guys said, I learnt his name is Logan, I smiled at him taking
what he said as a compliment, “Alpha Red is cruel and
doesn’t have any fun.”
“I know! He can be such an ass some times, like, I haven’t
even known him for a day and he has still had enough time to
yell at me, such a dickhead,” I complained and everyone
laughed. A second after everyone started laughing they all
suddenly stopped, their eyes widened.
“Charlotte,” warned a familiar voice from behind me, I
mouthed a curse word to the people in front of me and they all
smiled or laughed, I turned around and smiled innocently at
Ayden.
“Hey Ayden, did you finish with your work already?” I
asked in a sweet voice like nothing happened. The guys that
were now behind me since I was facing Ayden chuckled and I
flipped them off behind my back as a joke.
“Were leaving,” Ayden stated with a straight face.
“Can’t I just stay a little longer? I haven’t managed to talk
to everyone yet.”
“Now,” he snapped. I sighed and got off the couch, I
waved good bye to everyone and walked out next to Ayden.
“So now you’re not only trying to run away from me and
hate me but your also trying to humiliate me in front of my
pack,” Ayden hissed, grabbing my arm and dragging me
down the hallway since I wasn’t walking fast enough.
*
I woke up to the sound of birds tweeting outside my
window. It was really nice and relaxing, not annoying at all. I
looked at the alarm clock that read 8:34am.
I pulled of the blankets that had kept me warm last night
and stepped out of the king size bed. I walked to the closet and
pulled out some clothes to wear today. I wanted to make sure
they were decent clothes since I was being introduced to the
pack today. I didn’t want to look desperate, slutty, over done
or not put any effort in so it was actually quite difficult. Since
it was just a slightly more than casual barbeque, I decided to
wear something simple but elegant. I am so glad that Ayden
had stocked half his closet with women’s clothes, he said he
put them their just in case he found his mate but I’m not so
sure.
Once I picked out my outfit which was a floral maxi skirt
and a plain white singlet, I brought my clothes into the
bathroom and stripped out of Ayden’s sweat pants and t-shirt
that he leant me last night. After I had my shower, got
dressed, brushed my teeth and hair, I slowly walked
downstairs. I saw Ayden lying asleep on the couch, last night
it took me an hour to make him sleep on the couch, he kept
insisting he should sleep next to me.
I slowly crept past him and made my way to the door.
Ayden said I wasn’t allowed out today because of all the
things that happened yesterday, that’s why I had to sneak
past without him waking up.
Once I had successfully opened and closed the front door
without him realising, I made a run for it. I wasn’t planning
on running away, I was actually running towards the pack
house. I had gotten along with everyone so well yesterday, I
actually liked the people here. All my old pack members said
everyone here was awful, but I think its just Ayden that’s
mean.
Once the pack house was in sight, I walked instead of
running. There were more children playing outside today
then there were yesterday, maybe because its nice and sunny
today. As I was walking towards the house, I saw a little girl,
around the age of 4, fall over on the stairs. She started crying
and it didn’t look like anyone was coming over to help her.
I walked over and knelt down beside her.
“Hey sweetie, are you alright?” I asked in the softest voice
I could muster.
“N-no,” she cried, “I h-hurt my ankle.”
“Well do you want me to get you inside and we can put
some ice on it. And maybe, I could find you a lollipop that you
can have, that might make it feel better huh?” I questioned.
She nodded her head and lifted her arms asking to be picked
up. I picked her up and sat her on my hip while walking in
side.
“What’s you name hun?” I asked her, looking down at her.
“Mackenzie,” she replied. She had stopped crying now but
her ankle looked a little red and swollen.
“Hi Mackenzie, my name is Charlotte but you can call me
Charlie,” I said and sat her on the kitchen bench top. There
was nobody in the kitchen yet so I had no one to ask for help
finding an ice-pack.
They had a massive row of fridges and freezers in this
kitchen, there were about 5 of each. I took a guess on which
one it would be in and I found it in the second one I looked in.
I wrapped the ice-pack in a towel and placed it on
Mackenzie’s ankle. I got a lollipop out of a jar that was sat on
the kitchen bench top and gave it to Mackenzie.
“All better?” I asked and she nodded, she stayed sitting on
the bench, just eating her lollipop.
I sighed and then turned to where I heard someone enter
the kitchen.
“Oh, hello Charlotte,” Ms Parkston said carrying in
shopping bags, “sorry if you needed me, I was just shopping
for the things we need for todays barbeque.”
“No I was just helping out Mackenzie,” I said and pointed
to Mackenzie’s ankle, “would you like some help bringing in
the shopping bags?”
“You don’t need to do that dear,” Ms Parkston denied.
“I insist,” I exclaimed, she smiled at me and sighed
through her nose.
“Come on then,” she laughed. I followed her out to her car
and there were so many shopping bags in the car.
It took us four returns to bring all the shopping bags in. We
carried the last lot of bags through the house chatting away. I
asked if she would like me to help with cooking tonight and
once again she denied but after I said I wanted to help she let
me.
As we walked into the kitchen for the last time, Mackenzie
was nowhere to be seen but Ayden and Carter came running
in.
“Charlotte! I thought you ran away again,” Ayden said
running over to me and hugging me after I put the shopping
bags down. He held me in his arms for a while before he
pulled away and looked down into my eyes.
“Sorry,” I murmured.
“Come on, lets go home and get to know each other before
the barbeque,” Ayden said and began to pull me away.
“Wait,” I quickly blurted out, Ayden stopped in his tracks
and looked at me, “I promised Ms Parkston I would help her
cook for tonight,” I said and smiled. Ayden looked really
disappointed and sad, he looked legitimately heartbroken,
“but we have a lifetime to get to know each other, we don’t
have to do it now,” I reassured him.
“I feel bad for you,” Carter started, “you have to put up
with a lifetime of Ayden.”
I laughed lightly and Ayden just glared at Carter. Ayden
really needs to lighten up sometimes.
“Okay, you can help out Ms Parkston, I’m going to set
some things up but I will meet you back here at 3pm when the
barbeque starts,” Ayden informed me. And with that both
Ayden and Carter walked out the kitchen, leaving me and Ms
Parkston to put away the groceries.
Charlotte Midnight
As soon as all the men ran off, the pack she-wolves just sat
down and continued chatting or looking after their children.
They are acting like these things always happen! And I know
they don’t because my old pack never send out pack spies
anymore because they always get killed, there shouldn’t even
be any here right now. What the hell is my father doing?
I sighed and sat down on my seat, I still had Mackenzie in
my arms so I sat her on my lap.
“So Mackenzie, what shall we d—” I begun but got cut off.
“Luna,” someone cleared their throat, I looked next to me
and saw a familiar looking girl standing there. She had copper
hair, blue eyes and she did look very beautiful. I know I have
met her before but I cant figure out were or when, “you may
not remember me Luna, my name is Georgia Hartley, Pack
Warrior.”
I gasped slightly, now I remember were I know her from,
she was the she-wolf that attacked me on my old land
yesterday before the battle. I stood up from the chair and
stepped back, putting distance in between us. I wasn’t scared
of her, it was just because I had a child in my hands and I was
trying to protect her.
“Luna,” she began again, “I wanted to apologise for what
happened back on Midnight Moon land, I hope we can have a
fresh start and get to know each other.”
Normally I would forgive people without giving it a second
thought, but she did get her men to attack me, well
technically it was Ayden’s men so I should be mad at him.
“Apology accepted,” I smiled at her, she smiled back at
me, “It was nice talking, and thankyou for apologising but I
think I am going to head home now, I am starting to get a
headache.”
“Okay Luna, is there anything I can get for you? Water?
Tablets? Ice pack?” she questioned and I shook my head.
“I just need some rest, but thankyou for asking,” I said
before putting Mackenzie down and telling her to play with
some of the other little girls, “Oh and Georgia, just call me
Charlotte.”

Charlotte Midnight
I woke up with the day light shinning into my eyes. I
yawned as I sat up and stretched. I looked around at my
surroundings to find I was still on the floor outside Ayden’s
house, I guess I must have slept here last night.
I stood up and decided to walk to the pack house to freshen
up, I am sure I had dirt and twigs all in my hair. As I
approached the pack house, I saw Mackenzie playing outside
by herself, it must be too early for the other kids to come out
and play.
“Hey Mackenzie,” I smiled at her. She looked at me and
gasped before bursting out laughing.
“What happened to you Charlie?” she said in her childish
voice, I guess I really do look like trash.
“I camped outside last night,” I laughed, “do you know
any place I could have a shower?”
“You can come to my room, my daddy is away so its just
me at home,” she smiled. I smiled back at her as I followed
her through the pack house. I was really curious as to where
her parents were. But I wont ask because you know what they
say, Curiosity killed the cat.
‘Satisfaction brought it back’ my wolf, Aria, butted in. I
inwardly laughed at her stupidity.
After walking up a couple flights of stairs and many
corridors, I finally came to Mackenzie’s room, which seemed
to be at the very end of a hallway, away from everyone else.
After I finished showering, she leant me some of her
mothers clothes, which were surprisingly in style, and let me
use her hairbrush to do my hair.
“So where are your parents?” I asked Mackenzie. I felt like
smacking my wolf because I know for a fact she made me say
that.
“My mommy died a long time ago and my daddy went on
an adventure, everyone says he committed suicide but I don’t
know what that means, but I hope he is having fun with it!”
she exclaimed. I gave her a sympathetic smile, why do bad
things have to happen to good kids.
I probably should have told her what it meant but if she
believed he was on an adventure, then its better to think that
then know the truth.
“Shall we go downstairs now?” I asked, trying to change
the subject. She nodded and began skipping down the
hallway, I laughed and followed her.
*
After me and Mackenzie had finished cooking and eating
breakfast, a familiar person walked in.
“Mackenzie, would you like to play in the garden while I
talk to Georgia?” I asked and she nodded before jumping out
of the seat and skipping out the door. I turned to Georgia and
smiled, “Hi.”
“Hello Charlotte,” she said and smiled. She began pouring
herself a cup of coffee.
“Do you have access to the pack prison?” I asked getting
straight to the point.
“Yes,” she said but it came out more like a question.
“Can you take me down there?” I asked nicely.
“I don’t know if the Alpha would let me,” she said
cautiously. She began taking small sips of her coffee but she
kept her eyes on me.
“But aren’t I Alpha Female? Therefor you should do what I
say,” I smiled, I knew I had won because she sighed and
nodded. Pack members also do what ever possibly to please
their Luna, it must be out of loyalty.
She put her empty cup down and motioned her hand to
follow her. We walked out the pack house and around the side
of it until we came to another building that I didn’t even know
existed. We approached a large door and Georgia put all types
of passwords, finger scans and eye scans before we could get
in the door.
“I actually have to go and train some pups today so I will
have to leave you here, just ask one fo the guards to let you
out when you are done,” Georgia said and I nodded.
I walked down a long flight of stairs before I came to
another door which had a lock on but the key was hanging up
on the wall so I just unlocked it.
As soon as I walked into the prison, I smelt a familiar
scent. I couldn’t quite tell who it was though because it smelt
horrible down here. It smelt like sweat, dead rats and blood.
Not a very good combination.
I knew I needed to find the person that scent belonged to. I
couldn’t quite distinguish who it was but I knew it was very
familiar to me.
I walked past a lot of cells and saw mostly old men,
drunks, Vince and his mate and a couple or Rogues. When I
got to the end, I saw I highly secured prison cell, I couldn’t
see who was in it but I knew that was where the scent was
coming from.
“Excuse me? Guard?” I asked and a middle aged man
turned to me, “I would like to go inside there, open it for me,”
I demanded as I pointed to the cell.
“Are you sure Luna? The man inside is very dangerous,”
he warned, I replied with a nod of my head, “alright but I will
come with you,” he said as he was about to open the door.
“No, I would like to go alone, if anything happens it will be
all my fault,” I replied smiling.
He seemed to be discussing things with himself in his head
or using pack link to contact someone, “Fine,” he growled. I
raised an eyebrow at him, “yes you can go in, Luna.”
He opened the door and I stepped inside. I turned around
and the guard closed the door and looked it. I sighed and
looked around the room, in the corner of the room, a man was
sat, staring at the wall.
“Austin?” I questioned cautiously. He smelt like Austin
and he had his hair done the same way. (A/N if you don’t
remember who Austin is, its Charlotte’s second in command
from Midnight Moon pack).
The man in the corner snapped his head round to me. It
was Austin. He got off the floor and ran over to me before
embracing me in a hug.
“Charlie are you okay? Have they hurt you? What did they
do to you? I swear if they hurt you..” he growled.
“I’m fine Austin,” I smiled at him but when I looked at his
body I noticed he was covered in scratches, cuts and bruises,
“are you okay?”
“I am okay now that I have you,” he smiled at me. Me and
Austin are like this, everyone thinks he have a brother-sister
type relationship but we act more like a couple. We fight, we
cuddle, we spend most of our time with each other and we
have made out once or twice. In my defence we were both
drunk and how could you not, Austin is hot.
“Still corny as ever huh?” I asked and chuckled. He just
smirked at me and nodded.
“Do you mind me asking what you are doing down here? I
didn’t see you in any of the cells when I was brought down
here,” he said looking at me with a confused expression
wiped across his face.
“It’s a long story,” I laughed. I would have told him but I
don’t think I could. I have no idea what his reaction would be
and I wasn’t prepared to find out, “Come on, let me get you
out of here,” I said. I told Austin my escape plan, he just
nodded and stood behind the door like I told him to.
“HELP!” I yelled and banged my fists against the door
until the guard opened it.
“H-he tried to hurt m-me,” I sobbed. The guard stormed
in the room and looked around, trying to find Austin. I
grabbed Austin’s hand and we quickly ran out together before
we slammed the door shut, locking it in the process.
“Hey!” the guard began banging on the door, “Let me out
of here!”
Me and Austin burst out laughing before running up the
hallway.
“Charlotte,” I voice warned me as I was running. I stopped
and looked in the cell it came from, “what are you doing?”
Vince asked.
“Just going for a walk,” I said and shrugged my shoulders.
“You know what I meant,” he growled, “with the
Midnight Moon pack spy.”
“Nothing that concerns you,” I smirker before running
again. Its not like Vince could have done anything anyway. He
is locked in a cell and you cant contact anyone using mind-
link when you are in the cells.
I walked out the first door and up the stairs with Austin
right by my side. Before we got to the guard that was meant to
open the door for me, I tied up Austin’s hands. I walked the
rest of the way holding onto Austin like he was a convict.
“Guard, open the door, I am transferring this prisoner on
orders from the Alpha and Pack Warrior,” I demanded. The
young guard nodded and opened the door for us. He smiled at
me, most likely pleased that he helped his Luna.
Once me and Austin were outside and far enough away
from the prison that no one could see us, I untied his hands
and we began running towards our border.
We were almost half way and using my judgment of the
suns position in the sky, it was around 10 or 11 in the morning.
“You know,” Austin began, “Everyone back home thinks
your dead, even Alpha Midnight. I refused to believe it so me
and a team came out searching for you.”
I stopped walking and looked at him with shock. Did my
father really not even bother to come looking for me?
“So my dad didn’t even bother looking for me?” I voiced
my thoughts.
“We all just assumed Alpha Red killed you, you know,
because of the feud between both packs,” Austin said and
shook his head. I was honestly so shocked that my father
didn’t even try to find me or take revenge. I thought I was my
fathers little princess..
We continued pushing forward until I suddenly stopped.
Fires burst inside my stomach as I felt a sudden warmth
around my thighs. I looked down to my stomach then back to
Austin.
His eyes were now pitch black, but not as black as Ayden’s
were yesterday night.
“Charlotte,” he paused, “You’re in heat.”

I lied my head onto Ayden’s chest, his heart was beating fast,
just like mine. Our sweaty bodies were pressed up against one
another and our legs were tangled. I smiled against his toned
chest, we had just nearly finished the mating process. I
thought it was strange that he hadn’t marked me yet,
especially since he is an Alpha. Normally they are a lot more
possessive and do it nearly straight away.
“Why haven’t you marked me yet?” I questioned softly as I
rubbed my hand up and down his abs.
“You don’t deserve it,” Ayden snapped. I could feel him
tense up and I could feel the rumble in his stomach as he
growled. We just made love and now all of a sudden he is
snapping at me like this.
“w-what?” I questioned. What does he mean I don’t
deserve it? I am his mate, surely he would want to mark me,
right?
“You ran away from my Charlotte, now you need to accept
your punishment,” he growled. I pushed myself off his chest
and sat up looing down at him. I pulled the blanket up with
my hand to cover my naked body, he doesn’t deserve to see it
now, “you will be sent to the pack prison with that animal of
yours. What’s his name again? Oh yes, Austin.”
“YOU CANT DO THAT!” I exclaimed, he just glared at me
and nodded.
“yes I can Charlotte, I am your Alpha and you will do as I
say,” he replied quite calmly.
“You’re an asshole Ayden! I cant believe you used me like
that for sex when I was in heat and now you are just chucking
my away like an overused toy!” I shouted as I was getting
frustrated.
“I did that for you! I satisfied your needs before I locked
you away! If I didn’t, you would still be in heat and you would
be in pain! Not to mention all the horny, male wolves that
would be all over you!” he yelled. I knew he was right but that
doesn’t mean what he is doing is right. Ayden sat up in the
bed and slid his boxers on before standing up next to the bed
and turning towards me.
“That doesn’t mean you have to lock me up!” I exclaimed,
“I know what I did was wrong but you cant just lock me up! I
am your mate and Luna!”
“Don’t you dare try and guilt me out of this, I have made up
my mind. Now get up and get changed before I drag you out of
bed,” He snarled before storming out the room. Well that’s
not exactly how I wanted my first time to go.

Chapter 10

***
Derek, Jace and I had just finished eating our family dinner.
Joseph (Alpha Midnight) couldn’t make it to dinner tonight
because he was planning things with the pack. Joe thinks I
don’t know what they are doing, but I’m not stupid like I was
in my young age. I know they are plotting revenge on that
asshole that took her, possibly killed her.
I looked down at my lap, not wanting my boys to see the
tears in my eyes or the worry on my face.
“Hi Hun, sorry I couldn’t make it to tea,” Joe came in and
kissed me on the cheek. He looked down at my blue eyes and
frowned. I looked into his green eyes and knew exactly what
he was thinking, call it a mate instinct.
“Don’t cry Rosaline,” He said looking directly at me, I
nodded my head and wiped my tear stained face, getting rid
of the fresh tears. Joseph looked up and looked from Derek to
Jase to me, “I have some news to tell you all,” he said and
clapped his hands together.
“I hope it’s good, mom could really use some good news
right now,” Jase said and smiled at me. He has always been
very caring of me.
“Some of it is good,” Joe told us.
We all waited patiently for Joe to begin talking, he sat
down on the chair next to me and intertwined our fingers,
“Charlotte is alive.”
A smile instantly spread across mine and Derek’s faces.
What confused me was that Jase and Joe held a straight face.
“But?” Jase questioned.
“She found her mate, that’s where she is now,” he
commented.
Jase and Derek growled lowly. They always have been the
over protective brothers that no girl wants, trust me, my
brothers were the same.
“Who is it?” I exclaimed, I was so happy, my little girl
found her soul mate.
“Ayden Red, Alpha of Red Blood pack,” Joe grumbled. Jase
pushed his chair back, causing it to screech along the tiled
floor. He began to storm out of the room, not looking happy
with the news at all.
“Jase,” Joe snapped, “wait.”
Jase stopped at the door but didn’t turn around, “We have
brought the attack forward to next Tuesday,” Joseph said
directly at Jase.
“What! Why?” I exclaimed, Is Joe seriously going to fight
Charlotte and her mate?
“He hurts her, Rosaline, he’s abusive,” Joe said, and that
is all it took for Jase to storm out the room.
Charlotte Midnight’s POV
“Everyone out,” the mystery man growled, “Not you
Doctor Finn.”
He sounds very demanding and not very nice, but I feel like
he has always been like that, even though I don’t know him.
Deep down, I know he is someone special in my life, but I
cant just see why.
“What have you done?” the man snapped at Dr Finn.
“S-sorry Alpha, it was the only way to save your
relationship,” Dr Finn stuttered, he looked very afraid. So
mystery man is the Alpha?
“What the fuck are you talking about? She doesn’t
remember me! How the fuck did you save our relationship?”
Alpha roared again.
“A-Alpha, can we t-talk about this outside? The stress will
be bad for Charlotte,” Dr Finn murmured and motioned
towards me while he said it.
“No! We will talk about this now and here!” Alpha shouted
and I flinched back at the sound. Alpha noticed me flinching
and his face softened.
“I gave her an injection to forget everything about you,”
Dr Finn began, “the mate bond was breaking and Charlotte
was feeling all the pain of it, if I didn’t give Charlotte the
injection, she would be seriously ill and there is a high chance
the bond would have been broken all together.”
Mates? Me and the Alpha are mates? That is a lot to take in.
“Will her memory come back?” Alpha whimpered slightly.
“Not all of it, but most of it,” Dr Finn confirmed.
“How long will it take?” Alpha asked. His voice is very
tranquil now; he seems very bi-polar.
“It ranges from days to months; it’s all up to your
relationship. Seeing you haven’t marked her yet, it might take
a while,” Dr Finn tutted. I looked up at my Alpha mate; he
appeared to be deep in thought.
“Thankyou doctor,” I croaked out, all eyes snapped to me,
“can you please give us a minute?”
Dr Finn nodded his head and placed a clip board at the end
of my bed. He stepped out of the room quickly, probably
trying to get away from anymore conflict. I looked up at the
Alpha; he was still looked deep in thought, not looking at me.
“Alpha?” I questioned timidly.
“Ayden, call me Ayden,” he said quickly. He looked down
at me but stayed standing next to my bed. I pressed the
button on the remote control on the side of the bed that
moves the bed into the seating position.
“Ayden,” I began, “are we mates?” I asked. I know Dr Finn
pretty much already said we were but I needed confirmation.
“Yes, Charlotte,” he said and sat down on the chair next to
my bed. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his
thighs, gripping my small hand in his large ones.
“Okay, so tell me about yourself.”
***
After Dr Finn had done some final check-ups and ran a couple
of tests, I was free to go. Dr Finn told me to take it slow for the
next couple of weeks and he specifically told me not to have
sex for the next week. My face flusters at the thought, I went
bright red when he told me, all Ayden did was chuckle at my
response.
Ayden and I walked hand in hand out of the hospital.
Ayden had been really nice, he has done everything for me so
far, I think I got the perfect mate. We walked downstairs and
onto the first floor of the pack house.
“Hey Ms Parkston!” I exclaimed as we walked into the
kitchen.
“Hello Charlotte, did you enjoy your mac and cheese?” She
asked as she grated some cheese.
“The past couple of days have been a bit of a blur to me, I
can’t remember if I did, but I am sure I would have,” I giggled
and she smiled at me, but her smile didn’t reach her eyes.
“You didn’t eat it babe,” Ayden told me and kissed the top
of my hand that he held protectively.
“Okay, sorry Ms Parkston, I am sure it would have been
lovely,” I laughed and she joined me before turning back to
her cheese.
I turned around and began to drag Ayden down the
hallway, towards where I think the games room is. I
remember talking to some really nice people there, and I
remember some not so nice things, like when I first met Evil
Chucky aka Carlos.
“Where are we going?” Ayden questioned as he followed
me. It clicked in his head where I was dragging him to and he
came to a stop, causing me stop.
“No Charlotte, I don’t like you going to the games room,”
Ayden said sternly.
I turned to face him and played my best pouty face,
“please Ayden?” I said dragging out the ‘e’ sound in ‘please’.
Ayden shook his head sharply but I could see he was going
to crack soon.
“pretty please Ayden,” I said and stepped towards him so
we were almost touching. I dragged one of my fingers down
his chest and leaned up to press a kiss on his jaw. I trailed my
kisses up his jaw line and to his ear, I nibbled slightly on his
ear before whispering, “please baby.”
“Fine,” he growled playfully before he chuckled slightly,
“You can go but I need to do some things in my study.”
“Okay, thank you,” I said and pressed a quick kiss on his
lips. That is the first kiss we have shared, that I remember
anyway, and it is as perfect as I thought.
I walked away from Ayden and into the game room. Loud
noises suffocated the room. I slowly walked in, making
myself familiar with my surroundings.
“Charlotte!” someone in the room exclaimed when they
saw me. Most people in the room stopped and looked at me,
some continued with their games.
“Aye Charlie!” Evil Chucky called out to me. I smiled and
ran over to him. I wrapped my arms around him, embracing
him in a hug.
“Hey Carlos!” I replied, pulling away from the hug.
“You want to play?” he asked as he pointed to the machine
he was stood next to. I enthusiastically nodded my head when
I saw it was air hockey. I am the best at this game.

***
“Sure baby,” I said and kissed the top of her hand that was
intertwined in mine as we walked to the kitchen.

Chapter 15
***
***
The silence of the room gave me some time to think about last
night, about Ayden.
“It was nice but I’m not really that hungry,” I murmured,
avoiding eye contact with him.
I shut the door and flopped down onto the bed. How hard
could it possibly be to avoid the Alpha all day? I questioned
myself.
… Fuck.
***
I scarpered down the stairs and into the lounge, where I heard
quickened breaths, “What? What’s wrong?”
“If you don’t want me here then I’ll leave,” I chocked out.
I felt so rejected.
I walked straight through the doors and the first person I saw
was Georgia. (A/N If you don’t remember Georgia, she is the
one that attacked Charlotte at her old pack) She looked at me
and gasped.
“Who?”
She looked taken back for a moment before she nodded her
head, “I’ll take you there.”
Once we had gotten to the top floor of the pack house she
pointed to a door, telling me that’s Carters room.
Before I could say anything I broke out into sobs once again. If
you were in my position and the love of your life just turned
you down, you would realise why I’m crying so much.
He sighed and ran his hand threw his hair, “It’s a long and
complicated story Charlie,” he grumbled. Ayden probably told
him not to say a thing; Ayden probably thinks he can get away
with whatever he did just because I lost my memory. I was
going to push him further but he spoke before I could, “What
did he do to you?”
I crept out the door, making sure Carter didn’t know I was
leaving. I honestly don’t think Carter would have let me leave
knowing what state I was in. I think his protective side is
starting to show, especially since he is my guard.
“Garlic pizza bread for the pack lunch,” she smiled at me.
The door swung open and a large chest was at my eye level. I
looked up and saw that Joshua, Ayden’s Beta, was glaring
down at me.
After I was far enough away for comfort, I stopped and let out
a breath. I swallowed a lump in my throat before continuing
to try and find Georgia.
“She is 5 years younger than me, around your age; she was
the best thing I had in life. She wasn’t just my sister but my
best friend as well. She looked very different to me because
we have different moms. She took after her mom’s brown
hair and green eyes where as I took after my mom’s black hair
and brown eyes.
“Joshua can make your life a living hell pretty easily. Most
pack member think he is worse than Alpha because Ayden
does have a weak spot, he now has two considering he has you
as well,” He smiled at me for the first time since he began this
conversation, “Anyway, people have conspiracies that all the
bad things that Ayden does, Joshua has talked him into it,” I
let out a small gasp but didn’t interrupt.
“What did you say her last name was?” I asked him suddenly
as a thought came to mind.
“When I found her, she was so sad and scared, I felt really bad
for her. I offered her a place in my pack, which she gladly
accepted. I helped her settle in, and we got along really well.
We actually became close friends just before I got taken,” I
murmured the last bit.
***
“Do they fit you alright?” Carlos shouted through the door.
“Yeah, they are good,” I smiled and opened the door. I had
just changed into a pair of Jess’s shorts and a singlet of hers
and luckily for me they fit perfectly.
“For listening and being there for me, I really needed it,” he
said.
I eyed the kitchen suspiciously. I can’t see him; I’m not ready
for this. I need to time to prepare myself to see him again.
I threw her tea across the room, smashing the china mug in
the process. Pieces of china were shattered on the floor and
tea dripped down the wall.
***
I didn’t recognize then man who opened the door. His eyes
were red and had bags under them; his hair was a mess; his
shirt had food stains dripped down it; and it appeared that he
forgot to put pants on since he was only wearing boxers and
his shirt,
“If you just came to tell me that then you can piss off,” he
growled and went to slam the door in my face but I pushed it
open before he could. I know it was something very
disrespectful towards my Alpha but I had to talk to him.
“How about I come in and we can sit down and talk about
this, yeah?” I suggested and he nodded. He walked in and I
followed him after I closed the door. We sat on opposite
couched, he seemed stiff and agitated, I guess he was truly
worried about his mate.
“So are you going to tell me what happened last night?” I said
after a moment of silence.
“Then I-I told her I didn’t want her anymore. I know it was a
stupid mistake and I should have just said it was a mistake but
I was to in the moment to correct myself. My ego got in the
way and my fucking wolf was making me get even angrier at
her. My wolf only likes her wolf, not her. It’s fucking fucked
up.
“And to make matters worse, when she walked out the house,
I didn’t even chase after her. How did I know she would be
safe? She could have got hurt, or she could have been killed.
Oh god, she could have been killed. Just because of my fucking
mistake.”
The whole time he said it, he stared off into the distance. Even
though he looked everywhere but me, I could still see the hurt
in his eyes. I knew I should have said something to make him
feel better but it was his fault, and he was being a dick.
“All she told me was that you said you didn’t want her and
never did, so I am a hundred percent sure she cried about
what you said,” I shook my head at my best friend.
“What?” he mumbled.
“At least she got lots of sleep, unlike you,” I murmured the
last bit.
“Do you think I could sleep after what I said and did to her?”
He yelled at me. Although he was yelling, it seemed like he
was yelling at himself, rather than me, “Last night, even if it
was too late, I still slept on the couch. For hours I tossed and
turned, trying to get a good night sleep, but I couldn’t, not
even a wink. I finally realised it was her who I was missing, so
I went upstairs to the bedroom and hugged her pillow,
imagining it was her. I guess she was what got me to sleep.”
“You’re the reason she is gone in the first place so don’t get
angry at me!” I yelled back. He knew I was right so he didn’t
argue back, although I could see him and his wolf really
wanted to show me who the boss was in this situation.
***
“Ayden, it’s almost midday, we have been looking for her for
hours, don’t you think we can take a break now?” I asked.
Ayden glared at me, almost as if he was silently demanding
me to stop talking, “Why don’t we look inside the pack house
now?”
“Yes, she came down to see me this morning,” she said, “She
is really sweet that girl. I’m proud of you Alpha; you got
yourself a good catch.”
“Ah, she was looking for Georgia, I told her she was either in
the office or her room so if you want to find her, I would start
there,” she told us.
***
***
Ayden and I walked into the pack house, hand in hand. After
we went into a human town, about 30 minutes away, and did
some food shopping we decided to come down to the pack
house.
“How long do you think it will take for people to notice you
marked me?” I whispered into Ayden’s ear.
“Not long, you scent has changed,” he whispered back.
“Good or bad way?” I asked quietly.
“Good,” he turned to me and smirked, “you smell more
like me.”
“I don’t see how that is a good thing,” I joked. Ayden
frowned and was about so say something but he got
interrupted by someone running into the room, squealing.
“YOU CAN’T CATCH ME!” Mackenzie shouted as she was
watching her back, waiting for someone to run in the room
after her. As she wasn’t looking where she was going, she ran
straight into Ayden’s legs. She looked up at Ayden and her
little eyes popped out of her head.
“S-sorry Alpha,” she bowed her head as she was shaking
in her own skin.
I knelt down beside Mackenzie, “Hey Kenzie,” I smiled at
her.
She freaked out for a second before she realised it was me,
“Charlotte!” she exclaimed before she wrapped her small
arms around my neck, embracing me in a hug.
“I’M COMING TO GET YOU!” A loud voice shouted from
round the corner.
Mackenzie squealed and ran to hide behind me, “Help me
Charlotte!” She laughed as she cuddled behind my legs.
Carter came running into the room, looking around for
Mackenzie, “Where are y—” He said in a singing voice before
he cut himself off. He lifted his nose into the air, like he was
smelling Ms Parkston’s freshly baked cookies.
His eyes landed on me, then to Ayden, then back on me,
“He marked you?” he asked, his eyes wide, face ashen.
“Yes, I did,” Ayden growled, “Do you have an issue with
that, Carter?”
“No,” Carter snapped, “I just think you should have told
her what happened before you did it.”
“Told me what? What happened?” I asked.
Ayden and Carter ignored me, “I think I did what was best,
with the upcoming battle, I need to do anything in my power
to keep her safe,” Ayden growled in response.
“Or did you do anything you could to keep her here,”
Carter fired back.
“To keep her safe,” Ayden pushed, “We can contact each
other via mind link now we are fully mated.”
“So why didn’t you just tell her before you marked her.
You have a week before the attack. Are you afraid she would
run?” Carter chuckled dryly.
“Don’t push it Carter, I am still your Alpha,” Ayden
growled.
“Do you always say that when you start to lose?” Carter
smirked, “why don’t you just tell her now?”
“Tell me what?” I shouted.
“Yeah, just tell her, Ayden,” Carter said at the same
volume as mine.
“Please stop yelling,” a small voice from behind me
whispered. I turned around and looked at Mackenzie who was
sat in a small ball with tears in her eyes. I bent down and
picked her up, kissing her forehead in the process.
“It’s alright, baby,” I cooed in her ear, “we’ve stopped
now.”
“So are you not going to tell her then?” Carter said at
normal tone, trying not to make Mackenzie upset anymore.
Before Ayden could say anything, I spoke up, “If Ayden
doesn’t want to tell me yet then I respect that. This is
obviously between me and Ayden so you don’t have to but in.”
“No!” Carter growled, “You don’t know anything
Charlotte!”
“Get out!” Ayden demanded. Carter and I turned to him
with a confused expression, “Get out of the pack house now.
You will not talk to Charlotte like that.”
“Wha—” Carter began but got cut off by Ayden.
“You can go for a run, when you come back, come
apologise to Charlotte for the way you spoke to her,” Ayden
used his Alpha tone. After a quick nod of his head, Carter
turned around and ran out the already open door.
“Now who is going to play chasey with me,” Mackenzie
pouted.
“Ayden and I will!” I exclaimed, tryning to ignore the fact
that Ayden just kicked Carter out the pack house because he
was rude to me.
I put Mackenzie down and she started to jump up and
down with excitement.
“Okay, Ayden you cover your eyes and count to ten, then
you have to chase us, okay?” I asked him and he nodded,
“The rules are, you can’t leave the first level of the pack
house and you can only go in doors that are open or leave
them open after you go inside, got it?” I asked them both and
they nodded, “Count Ayden.”
Ayden covered his eyes and Mackenzie ran off into the
house somewhere. I should have followed behind Mackenzie
but instead, I ran outside. I managed to catch Carter just
before he was going to shift.
“Carter!” I called out.
“Does Ayden know you are out here?” Carter asked,
looking behind me as if he was waiting for Ayden to follow
me.
“No, I just need you to tell me what is it about?” I asked.
“What is what about?” he furrowed his eyebrow.
“The thing Ayden needs to tell me,” I said, “What is it
about?”
“The reason you can’t remember anything,” He stated,
“Just ask Ayden what caused your memory loss,” Carter said
before turning around and shifting into his large wolf. He ran
off into the woods as I turned around and walked back into
the house, ready to play some chasey.

Chapter 21
***
I have been working hard for over two hours now, I have
almost completed half the battle plan and organised most of
the pack training.
I heard a loud groan from the ground and I automatically
knew Joshua was now waking up and I would have to talk to
him about crossing the line. I know he dislikes my mate and I
can’t force him to change his mind but he will respect her,
she is of greater power than he.
“Good afternoon Joshua,” I said as I continued to type on
my computer.
“What time is it?” He groaned as he sat up. He looked
around the room as he rubbed his head.
“Quarter past one, you were out for just over two hours,” I
chuckled lightly. I heard him get off the floor and walk over to
me, in a slow, sluggish manner.
“Why did you hit me?” he questioned. He seemed to have
got his head “back in the game” as his speech wasn’t slurred
like before. He sat down at his desk which was in front of
mine.
“Why did you call my mate a whore?” I snapped back at
him. I wasn’t in the mood for this bullshit.
He opened his mouth to reply to me but shut it straight
after. He’s smart to consider what he has to say.
I printed off copies of the new training schedule and place
it on his desk, “what is this?” he asked.
“New training schedule, it will become active tomorrow. I
need you to make sure every wolf that is fighting here knows
about this by tomorrow. I don’t care what you have to do,” I
told him.
“Why can’t you do it?” he asked, furrowing his brow.
“Because I am the Alpha and I told you to do it,” I growled
at him, “Plus I have other business matters to handle.”
“Or will you be spending all your time with your mate,” He
spat out.
“Wasn’t last time enough warning?” I roared, “Disrespect
her again and you will no longer be a Beta or a pack member
of the Red Blood pack.”
“You wouldn’t, I am your most trusted pack member,
that’s why I am your Beta,” he argued back.
“Trust me I would,” I chuckled dryly, “You’re actually one
of the least trusted and you are only my Beta because my dad
told me you would be the best for me and I was foolish
enough to believe him.”
“Fine,” he growled as he stood up from his desk, “I will
leave. Find yourself a new Beta and a new fighter because I’m
leaving for good.”
I laughed and stood up with him, “See ya’ then, you won’t
be missed, rogue.”
I watched as my Beta for three years walk out the door and
soon to walk out of the pack. As he got to the door, he turned
and gave me his classic ‘evil’ smirk that had people running
for the hills, although it didn’t work on me, it was still an
awful sight.
“You better watch your mate carefully, she played with fire
and she is soon to get burnt.”
Before I could respond to what I thought was him
threatening my mate, he ran from the room. That coward,
how dare he threaten Charlotte then run off.
I sat back down at my desk and got back into my work,
without Joshua here anymore it will take a lot longer than
expected. Joshua always did most of the work because he
wasn’t a very social person so I pretty much have three times
the amount of work to do, with less than a week to do it in.
After only half an hour of working; which mostly consisted
of me worrying about Charlotte; a younger pup came running
into my office. Normally I would have growled at him and
demanded he told me something important of he would be
sent down to the prison, but today I was just feeling
emotionally drained. I’m not sure whether it’s Joshua that
caused it or it’s Charlotte’s emotions being passed on to me.
“What do you want?” I questioned calmly.
“Alpha,” he bowed his head, “It’s the Epsilon, he’s gone
missing,” the boy exclaimed.
“What do you mean Carter has gone missing?” I shouted. I
can’t have two of my high ranking pack members leaving in
one day just days before one of our hardest battles.
“Beta Joshua commanded that he left Luna alone and
followed him into the woods. Ten minutes later I heard a
distress call from Epsilon through mind link, so did some
others, I think they are endanger,” he told me.
“Joshua went rogue,” I informed him, “Get Charlotte into
safety and call all pack members into a meeting. We need to
hunt down Joshua and we need to find Carter. I don’t want
Charlotte to know any of this under any circumstances,
understood?” I asked and he nodded, “Lie to her if you have
to. Make sure she is safe.”
“Yes Alpha,” the pup nodded his head.
“I will be in the front garden in ten minutes, make sure
everyone else is as well. Tell Charlotte to go baby sit the
children in the safe room with the other mothers,” I tell him
as I leave my office.
If Joshua has harmed my mate or best friend in any way,
he will not breathe again.
Charlotte Midnight’s POV
After having some of Ms Parkston’s cupcakes, Carter
walked me home as I was getting tired and he didn’t want me
to walk home by myself. We walked along the pathway and
towards the house where we saw Joshua sat on the front step
with a smirk on his face, the one he always has on his face.
“Ah, Carter, I was just looking for you,” Joshua said as he
stood up to great us both.
“What did you want Beta?” Carter questioned. I was
momentarily confused at why Carter called Joshua Beta when
they are both high ranking, but I guess it is because Joshua is
higher than Carter. In fact, I have only heard Ayden call him
Joshua.
“Alpha Red ordered me to take you with me in a mission.
Apparently a rogue has been spotted just east of here and
Alpha would like you to sort it out,” Joshua informed.
“Okay, you will be okay by yourself, right Charlotte?”
Carter asked me as he looked away from Joshua and looked
towards me.
“Yeah I’ll be fine,” I shrugged it off like it was nothing but
in reality I was so scared of Joshua I was almost shacking in
my own skin.
“I’ll see you later Charlie,” Carter waved to me as he ran
off with Joshua and shifted into his wolf form. Carter’s light
brown wolf looked so much better compared to Joshua’s dull
brown colour.
After I watched them run off, I unlocked the house with
the key that was in the pocket of my shorts and walked inside.
After pouring myself a cup of tea and walking upstairs into
the bedroom, I curled up in one of the chairs and sat down
with a good book that I have been reading ever since we got
here.
I was half way into the book and the further I read, the less
aware I was of the space around me. In my mind, the only
thing in the world right now was my tea and my book.
Although I was so caught up in my book, my mind always
managed to make its way back to Ayden and the baby.
As I continued to read about the typical love story with a
twist, I heard a knock on the door which dragged me away
from another plot twist in the book. I folded the corner of the
page I was on and closed the book before setting it down of
the coffee table next to my empty mug of tea.
I dragged myself off of the extremely comfortable chair I
was sitting on and down the stairs. I swung the door open,
only to be faced with an unfamiliar boy.
“Luna,” The boy greeted me and bowed his head.
“Umm, hi,” I said awkwardly. I had an internal debate on
whether I should trust him or not, “Please just call me
Charlotte, what was your name?”
“D-Declan,” he said as he became really nervous. I wanted
to laugh at how nervous he was but I knew that would be too
rude.
“Well Declan, what can I do for you?” I asked, in a cheerful
mood. I love meeting new people, especially ones as cute as
Declan. He must have been around the same age as me but he
was still adorable and baby-faced.
“A-Alpha asked if you could h-help out and look after the
children in the s-safe house,” Declan stuttered.
“Safe house?” I questioned and he nodded, “Why? Has
there been a problem?”
“N-no!” He exclaimed quickly, “It’s just a routine so the
children will know what to do when the other pack comes to
attack or any other problems occur.”
I could tell he was lying, call it a Luna instinct but I knew
he was. Also the grin he played told me that he was proud of
his lie.
“And why do they want me there?” I inquired.
“Just because the children have been asking for their
Luna,” he said.
“Okay, I will go,” I agreed, “But if I find out you were lying
to me, I will not be very happy with you. I will be very
unpleased in fact,” I tutted him. I have learnt from my
mother that all pack members truly want love and approval
from there Luna, even more than they do from their Alpha.
He looked like he was having a battle with his wolf inside
his head; normally it’s the wolves inside of the human that
will do anything to please their Luna.
“So Declan,” I began, “What is really going on and why
does Ayden want me to go to the safe house?” I asked,
smirking knowingly.
“They are having an emergency pack meeting in the front
yard in five minutes. Please don’t tell Alpha Red I told you or
he will send me down to the prison, or worse, he will cut my
head off,” He pleaded.
“I won’t tell him anything, he won’t even know I am
there,” I smiled at him. I hate to think what Ayden would do
to the poor kid if he found out what he told me. I knew what
Declan said was true and Ayden would pull a heartless act like
that, so I will keep my word and not tell Ayden a thing.
“Do you want me to walk you to the pack house?” Declan
asked, “Alpha is really worried for your safety and he doesn’t
want you to get hurt,” he told me.
I nodded my head as a walk with Declan would give me
some time to get to know him a little, then maybe I could
have some more friends in this pack.
We began our walk in silence, but Declan soon broke it,
“Do you hate me, Luna?” he asked. I was about to tell him I
don’t but he jumped in before me, “It’s alright if you do, I
mean, I did lie to your face. My wolf really wants to know
because he is a mess right now. All he wants is for you to like
us and be proud of us, so he is pacing around my head like he
is in a mental institute. I don’t want you to lie to us either,
even if the truth is painful, I want to know it.”
“I don’t hate you, Declan,” I laughed.
“Thank you, Luna, you have no idea how much it means to
me to hear you say that,” Declan let out a breath of relief.
“What did I tell you about calling me Luna!” I scolded,
“Please just call me Charlotte or Charlie.”
“Sorry,” he murmured. After nearly a minute of silence, he
whispered, “do you hate me now?”
I laughed, “No, I don’t hate you Declan, don’t be so silly.”
I was about to start up another conversation but we had
already got to the pack house were around a hundred wolves
were stood outside. I knew there were still more to come since
Ayden had a really big pack.
I suggested to Declan that we separate since Ayden will be
looking out to see if Declan had done his job and got me to the
safe house.
Within a couple of minutes, Ayden was stood in front of
everyone and commanding them to be silent.
“Some of you may know, some of you may not know that
there has been a disturbance inside the pack,” Ayden began,
“My Beta Joshua has gone rogue for many reasons,” I gasped.
Had he gone rogue when I saw him with Carter? I had never
seen this coming, “Today he told my Epsilon, Carter to join
him on a mission,” he roared with such power coming out of
his voice.
“Carter has not been seen since and has sent out a distress
call. We will be sending out teams looking for him and Joshua.
If you have an interest to look for him, stay put, but if you do
not, please leave here and make sure you stay in the pack
house. We have no idea what Joshua could be up to, we want
you to all remain safe.” As Ayden finished, just less than half
the people here left and walked into the pack house.
I stayed right where I was standing though; I need to help
find Carter.

Chapter 23
***
I turned around and saw the nurse from yesterday, the other
nurse said her name was Mayella.
“Yeah it has, are you going to Luca’s party then?” I asked
her. From what I remembered, his party was at 11am but right
now it was only 9am.
“I was going to go round and help set up the party but
since you are here now, we can go to my office and check you
out,” She offered.
I smiled at her and nodded, “thank you Mayella, you have
no idea how hard it would be to get away from Ayden a
different time,” I laughed.
“It’s fine, anything for my Luna and possibly future
Alpha,” she winked at me and laughed.
I laughed along with her as I followed her into a private
room where she would do the ultrasound.
“Lie down on the bed please and lift your shirt up,” she
said politely. I did as she told me and I watched as she pulled
some gloves onto her hands.
“This might be a little cold,” she chuckled as she poured
on the ultrasound gel. I hissed at the feeling of the cold gel on
my skin, “Sorry,” she apologised.
“It’s fine.”
“Now let’s get started,” she clapped her hands together
before she wheeled the machine over towards us. She turned
on the machine and picked up the ultrasound wand. She
rested it on the gel that was on my stomach before she began
moving it around.
The machine began beeping as she moved it all over my
stomach. My heart was racing at the thought of what was
about to happen.
I couldn’t bear to watch the machine, I kept my eyes shut.
“Luna—” She begun but got cut off by a growl coming
from the front door.
I opened my eyes and looked over to the door that was now
swung wide open. Ayden originally looked furious but when
he looked down at me, his eyes only held confusion.
“Ayden, I-i—” I began but Ayden cut my off.
“What are you doing?” he said in a sharp voice, once he
had composed himself.
“I-I-” I began but I didn’t know what to say. I was
honestly lost for words, I didn’t know whether to tell him the
truth or make up a shitty lie. I looked over to Mayella in
desperation, hoping she would say something for me.
“Sorry Alpha, I am going to have to ask you to leave as we
are going through some private medical treatments and
examinations,” Mayella spoke up but her head was low. She
was probably terrified of what the consequences would be.
Ayden didn’t even look at her; he kept his eyes on me. He
slowly walked over to the bedside; he looked very hesitant as
he walked over to me. Once he reached my bedside, he knelt
down next to the bed and took my hand in his.
“A-are you p-pregnant?” he ask me as he gasped. He
looked from my eyes to my stomach and back to my eyes.
“I-I don’t know, I was about to figure out but you
interrupted,” I told him as I gripped his hand a little tighter.
Ayden looked over to Mayella and so did I, we both
patiently waited for the results, “Are you sure you are alright
finding out with the Alpha in the room?” Mayella asked me.
“Yes, she does,” Ayden spoke for me. Mayella nodded but
still turned to me for confirmation, which I gave her with a
quick nod.
“Alright, well I am happy to tell you,” she smiled largely at
both of us, “Luna, Alpha, you are having a baby!”
Ayden Red’s POV
She’s Pregnant.
She’s Pregnant.
My beautiful mate is going to be having my child.
I grinned and turned to look at Charlotte. She looked back
at me with wide eyes and ashen faced.
“We’re having a baby!” I exclaimed as my eyes lit up. She
looked at me; she looked as if the information hadn’t sunk in.
After a few seconds of staring at me, she finally smiled.
Her smile soon turned into a grin and she whispered,
“We’re having a baby.”
“Yes, we are.” The smile on my face wouldn’t leave. I am
so glad that I decided to come and find where Charlotte is
because otherwise I would have never found out about this at
this very moment.
“I’d like to be the first to congratulate you both,” The
nurse chirped in, “Due to the rapid growth of a werewolf
fetus, the baby is due in just under four months. In human
fetus growth, you would be 6 weeks into your pregnancy.”
“Only four months?” she shouted as she sat up from the
bed.
“I know it sounds soon, but I’m sure that when the time
comes, you will definitely be ready,” She said positively.
“I’m only seventeen,” Charlotte whispered.
I gripped Charlotte’s small hand inside of mine, “we will
get through this together, I can’t wait for when our baby is
with us. We can finally be a little family,” I cooed.
“A family,” She beamed, “I like the sound of that.”

Chapter 26
The room had changed since last night. The bed sheets were
no longer crumpled on the floor but were neatly folded at the
end of the bed; there were flowers in a vase next to me with I
card tucked inside; and all of my clothes were folded on the
corner chair and not on the floor like they were before.
Just by the smell of the room I could tell that Ayden was the
only person in here and that it wasn’t too long ago that he
was here. I sat up on our king sized bed and leaned over to
grab the dozen of red roses sat by my bedside.
I picked the card out of the roses, being careful not to prick
myself on the thorns; only to find out that every single thorn
on each rose had been cut off.
My Dearest Charlotte
My beautiful mate,
I hope you read this letter I have wrote for you and not tossed it in
the trash. I know I don’t deserve your time, especially after the
way I have treated you but I need you to read this. I need you to
know that I never mean to hurt you, I never mean to act the way I
do. I know you will never forgive me for what I have done but I
need you so much, Charlotte.
I thank the moon goddess every day because she gave me such an
amazing, sweet, caring, loving and beautiful mate and Luna. You
don’t understand how lucky I am to call you mine. Unfortunately
with the way I have been acting, I won’t be calling you mine for
much longer. I would fully understand if you decided to leave me,
although it would kill me inside, I would let you live the life you
want to live. I just pray to you that you look after our baby and
you keep it safe.
I just want to warn you that if you do leave, I will fall, causing my
whole pack to fall. Many people will rejoice over the fallen pack,
but my pack members, your pack members won’t be able to live
by themselves. I’m not trying to guilt you into staying with me but
I don’t want you to leave our pack, although if that’s what you
really want, I won’t stop you.
P.S. if you decide to go, please say goodbye before you do.
After I read the letter for the third time, I let a laugh slip from
my lips. I scrunched up the piece of paper and tossed it on the
ground.
Yes, it will take me a long time to forgive him for what he has
just done but I will eventually forgive him and I know I will.
The flowers were I nice gesture but that won’t help speed up
the process.
Just place the plate into the microwave and heat for a minute. I
would have stayed to cook you some fresh food but I had pack
business to take care off. Sorry love -Ayden
The plate hit the floor with a loud smashing sound, causing
me to gasp and jump back. Because it’s me and I am rather
clumsy a managed to jump onto a piece of China plate that
had just smashed onto the floor into a sharp triangle shape. I
hissed in pain and began to hop around on my other foot
away from the kitchen.
Leaving the smashed plate and now ruined food on the floor, I
slipped my shoes on and walked out the door, into the very
fresh air.
“Dad told me, he told everyone actually. And before you ask
how he knows, he could smell it on you, he could smell that
you had mated and that only means you are pregnant,” Derek
informed me.
“Dad told me that if you don’t leave with me, I’m going to
have to take you by force,” Derek sneered.
“When have you ever done what dad says? We all know that
you hate not being able to become Alpha so you never do
anything he says,” I retorted. Before Derek could respond to
my accusing, I spoke up, “Anyway, did you really think you
could walk onto Red Blood territory and just take the Luna?
Not to mention she is pregnant!” I exclaimed.
“If you take me away from Ayden, you are practically killing
me! I can’t live without him because I love him! There I finally
said it! I love him,” I rushed out. It felt like the world had
been taken off my shoulders. I haven’t confessed it to anyone
yet but it’s true, I love him. I just need to say it to him next
time.
“Tell dad to fuck off! I’m not leaving, in fact, I will be fighting
against you and dad, to save my own pack,” I argued.
I walked into the pack house and it was like a ghost town.
There was not a single person in sight. After standing around
for a couple of seconds, a younger fighter ran into the room,
looking ready to fight.
“No, no, I need to speak to Ayden,” I told the fighter, “Do you
know where he is?”
“He is near the border of Red Blood and Midnight Moon, the
attack was announced early, a fight has already broken out,
Luna. I need to get you to the Safe house, Alpha wants to
protect you,” the fighter informed me as he tried to lead me
towards the safe house.
Austin.
“And besides, you don’t need someone that hits you!” Austin
exclaimed but then quickly covered his mouth as if he was a
saint committing a sin, “I wasn’t meant to tell you that,
Charlie. It wasn’t for me to tell—” Austin started but I cut
him off with a muffled scream as I threw my head into my
hands and collapsed to the ground.
Charlotte’s POV
I walked out of his office and slammed the door behind me.
Ever since I got back, things between me and my father have
been rocky. Before I found my mate, my father was the best
man I had in my life. I looked up to him and respected him so
much; now I do neither. It’s funny how finding my mate has
changed me from daddy’s princess to a dad’s worst
nightmare,
“I know you want to find Carter, but can you at least see
where he is coming from?”
“No, no, no, please don’t tell me you are siding with him!
Why is everyone in this fucking pack against me?” I yelled in
frustration.
“Yes you can because you always side with dad,” I told her.
“Well of course I side with your father! I love you Charlie but
he is my mate,” she chuckled.
Jace, my brother, was the first one to speak up, “We weren’t
the ones that found him Charlotte, Alpha Red just informed
us that they have found Carter and he is safe in their territory
now.”
I ignored the pain and want that ran through my body when
Jace mention my mate, “Can we go and see him?”
“I know what is going to happen when you see him again and
that’s why I’m trying to keep you away from him! I am doing
this for your own good,” My father exclaimed but didn’t look
so sure of himself. The key to being an Alpha was always be
certain of what you are saying and right now my father looked
like he was letting himself down in that aspect.
“You know what will happen when she sees Ayden again,” my
father growled lowly.
“Yes I do, that’s why I am doing this. Don’t you want Charlie
to be happy? She has been miserable ever since she came
back,” Jase paused, “She belongs to be with her mate.”
“She was never really happy with him, she just—” My father
began but I had decided I had enough of this conversation. My
father abruptly stopped talking when he noticed I was
walking down the stairs. Everyone in the room looked at me
before most of them turned to look at their Alpha, Jace.
I could see that the people going were ready standing by the
door. None of them had bag so I’m guessing they already
packed them into the cars we were travelling in. I hugged Jace
and my mother one last time before heading off with the
pack.
After the long car ride, we finally made it to the pack house of
Red Blood. There were many people stood outside the pack
house waiting upon our arrival. I let out a shaky breath before
opening the car.
“Well that is the main reason for my visit but it’s lovely to see
my pack again,” I smiled at him.
In the distance I could see a little red head running over to us;
more precisely me. When she got closer, I realised that it was
Georgia.
“He doesn’t look to good, he was tubes in his arms and down
his throat. They cleaned the blood so he doesn’t look as bad as
he did but; it’s a bit of a shock when you first see him,” She
informed me. She frowned slightly and looked towards the
ground, she looked back at me and smiled softly, “He has
changed a lot.”
It was silent for a while as they all stared at each other, “One
of what?” I asked.
Ayden looked over to me, “Your father is one of the men that
took and tortured Carter.”

Chapter 32
Charlotte’s POV
“M-my what?” I stuttered. There was no way this was
possible. My father was a loving family man, he was the
kindest man I knew.
“Don’t believe them Lotte,” my father told me, using that
childish name, as he softly looked into my eyes.
I looked over to Ayden, I looked at him to see if he was
lying. When I looked into my mates eyes I knew my father was
a guilty man. It is incredibly hard for mates to lie to each
other, even though my mate had done it to me many times
before, I knew this wasn’t one of those times.
“Dad,” I sighed with a hint of disgust in my voice.
“How could you believe him, Charlotte. After everything
he has done to you!” My father snapped.
“I never said I believed him, dad, but I do believe my best
friend that had been captured for over eight months! Derek,”
I turned my attention to my brother as he popped his head in
the door, “call Jace and inform him what happened, get men
from any pack to bring dad to the pack prison for further
question, get him out of this room now.”
I turned my eyes away from my father as he struggled
against the men who were trying to drag him out of the room.
I looked down towards Carter and took in his injuries. They
weren’t as bad as I had expected, but it still hurt to look at
him this way.
“I’m so sorry, Carter,” I said and kneeled in front of his
bed, taking his hands into mine.
Carter’s once hard eyes turned soft as he now looked down
at me from his bed, “I’m fine now, that’s all that matters,
right?” he small smile brought tears to my eyes as I saw how
much pain he was in.
“I’m so happy to have you back home,” I cried as I moved
my hands from his own and wrapped them around his neck,
embracing him in a one sided hug. His groan of pain made me
immediately release my grip and sit back. Carter looked to the
corner of the room and chuckled lightly. When my eyes
followed his, I was met with the pitch black eyes of Ayden
staring at the two of us.
“He misses you way too much, it’s getting funny how
much he has talked about you since I got back,” Carter
smirked up at Ayden before turning back to me, “I have only
been here for about a day.”
“Well, I missed the both of you as well,” I confessed not
taking my eyes off of Carter.
Carter and I spent quite a while catching up after that with
Ayden commenting every now and then. It felt like it was
coming back to old times with Carter and I. It was clear he was
still hurt badly, which is understandable, he had been
tortured by my father for months.
After a while, Carter looked really tired so Ayden and I left
his room so he could sleep.
It was now just Ayden and I stood in the hallway of the
hospital-like area. It’s been months without each other and
now it’s just silence. How awkward.
“Well- I should leave,” I stated looking up at him, hoping
he would stop me.
“Charlotte- don’t,” he begged, “please just stay and talk.
“Okay,” I finally agreed before taking a seat just outside
Carter’s room.
“How have you been?” he asked gently.
“Good,” I lied, “yourself?”
“A mess.”
“Me too,” I sighed.
“I’m so sorry, I’m sorry for hurting you, I’m sorry for
lying to you, I’m sorry for losing our baby,” he whimpered,
“I’m sorry for everything.”
“I’m sorry for leaving you,” I whispered, I placed my hand
on top of his, “that was a mistake.”
“Can we just start this all over again?” he begged,
squeezing my hand gently.
“No,” I said bluntly. I watched as his face fell in
disappointment; heartbreak all over again, “but I would like
to try for us again, I just can’t forget about everything that
has happened. We need to face our mistakes and our faults
and move on.”
“I agree,” he grinned, “so to confirm, you’re agreeing
with me? That we should get back together?”
“Yes- but slowly! I don’t want to rush everything again
and end up getting knocked up straight away again,” I
laughed.
“I fully agree, I promise we won’t rush things again.”
Little did I know at that point that it was going to be the
exact opposite of taking things slow.
“What are you going to do about your father?” he asked.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that? You are the Alpha after
all,” I joked.
“But you are my Luna, you always have been, and you are
my equal, I realise that now. I truly am nothing without you.”
“You’ve changed a lot,” I responded, “In a very good
way.”
“Well let’s just say it took losing you and my baby to
realise I’m not the man I should be.”
“I wish it didn’t take all that.”
“Me too,” he repeated my saddened words from earlier. He
paused, “so what do you want to do with your father?”
“I want him to be put to death, torture him until he tells us
who helped him and kill them too, I need justice, we all do.”
So that’s what we did.
On a less dark side, Ayden ended knocking me up a few
months later like he promised he wouldn’t and well, the rest
of that is just happy families.
Sorry it’s really short and three years after I said it would
be published, my bad.

Epilogue
***
“You may now kiss the bride,” The human priest declared.
Ayden leaned forward and I did the same, our lips touched as
the guests applauded.
We pulled away from the short kiss and held each other’s
hands. We walked down the aisle as people threw flower
petals over our heads. I heard my two bridesmaids and
Ayden’s best man follow behind us as we walked out the
church.
Once outside the church, we were waiting for our guests to
pile out when Ayden leaned down and whispered in my ear,
“You look rather beautiful today, wife.”
I blushed at his compliment as I pulled him into a hug.
While we were hugging a saw the flash of a camera out the
corner of my eye, “Eden!” I scolded as both Ayden and I
pulled out of the hug.
“I want to keep these memories forever. If you didn’t want
me to take pictures, you shouldn’t have hired me as your
wedding photographer,” she hummed. I laughed and so did
Ayden.
I turned away from Ayden and looked directly at the best
man. We smiled each other before hugging.
“I’m glad to see that you got out of hospital in time for my
wedding, Carter,” I said sincerely.
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” he responded playfully.
It’s been almost a year since the exact day Carter went
missing and we only found him three months ago. We found
him severely injured in an unconscious state after both packs
had been looking for the entire time he was missing. He was
the reason Ayden and I started talking again.
After the day were Ayden and I lost our child, I went back
to my pack and he stayed in his, we never talked after that but
my parents talked to him about pack businesses. They still
hated each other but had a mutual agreement as they both
discussed Carter. Even though I had left Red Moon pack, still
cared for him like a brother and my dad knew that.
Once Red Moon pack had found Carter, me and my family
went over there to visit him and obviously I bumped into
Ayden. We talked for a little while and made an agreement to
take things slow and start seeing each other again; well, that
was after a rather heated argument.
Things didn’t go so slow because two and half months
later I found out I was pregnant. The first thing I did when I
found out was tell Ayden, just so there was no repeats of last
time. He was so happy when I told him I was pregnant again,
he proposed to me the very next day.
I was pulled back to reality when Carter unwrapped his
arms from around me. I felt an arm wrap around my waist
and I looked up to see a cheerful Ayden looking down at me.
He turned to Carter, “are you trying to steal my wife away
from me?” he said playfully.
“I would never,” Carter put his hands up defensively but
laughed at the same time.
I turned to my husband and grinned at him. “So,” I started.
“I guess we should…” he continued.
“Go?” I finished. We both looked into each other’s eyes
and giggle a little.
“You guys are so weird,” Carter shook his head with his
nose scrunched.
