Welcome everyone to my presentation.
Let’s dive into the crystal-clear
sea and the white sand of Ha Long Bay and follow me on the journey of exploring the enchanting beauty of this wonderful marvel. Located in quang ninh province, Vietnam, ha long bay belongs to one of the most captivating natural wonders of the world, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site twice in 1994 and 2000. The name “ha long” can be translated into “descending dragon”, which creates a mystic sense around the site. Arriving here, tourists have a wide range of activities to participate in to explore the extraordinary nature of Ha Long Bay. First, you can enjoy yourselves on your trip to one of the most breathtaking series of caves which have gone through millions of years of formation. The massive size of these caves, the magnificent beauty of the stalagmites and stalactites and the great archeological values make them one of the biggest tourist attractions in Ha Long city. Our next destination calls the name of Cửa vạn fishing village, the largest and most popular fishing village in Ha Long Bay. The village has more than 300 households living on floating houses tightly attached to each other to avoid being blown by strong winds. In front of every house, there is a small boat or a raft. If you want to immerse yourself in the tranquility of a village or understand more about the daily lives of local people, visiting Cua Van Fishing Village is a perfect choice. Another great thing about Ha Long Bay is you can take a cruise ship. Signing up for a boat cruise is the best way to discover Halong Bay. With 2000 islands, you can choose where you want to go and what you want to see, from the most well-known to smaller islands. It is a memorable cruising experience for you to enjoy a buffet meal as part of the cruise or stay on the boat overnight as well. However, the importance of preserving this significant site should not be overlooked. Particularly, there are 3 main ways to improve the quality of these sites.
First of all, is the implementation of stricter legislation and enforcement.
Government needs to strengthen heritage protection laws. Advocate for better legislation at hoth local and national levels. Prioritize enforcement, funding and prosecution for violators. Combat demand: Recognize that demand drives looting and destruction. Efforts to reduce the market for recently-looted antiquities are essential.Public awareness: Educate the public about the importance of heritage preservation and the consequences of looting and trafficking.
Secondly, the need of local involvement should not also be neglected.
o Engage local communities: Involve local people in the
preservation process. Sites meaningful to them should be protected alongside famous ancient sites. o Support heritage workers: Provide training, resources, and capacity-building for caretakers and heritage professionals. o Promote responsible tourism: Encourage visitors to respect heritage sites by not removing artifacts, altering structures, or sharing site locations on social media.
1. Finally, Documentation and Research:
o Examination and documentation: Thoroughly document heritage sites, including their physical condition and historical significance. o Preventive care: Implement measures to prevent deterioration, such as climate control and regular maintenance. o Research and education: Support research efforts to better understand and preserve cultural heritage.
