Dear Students,

As a complement to the learning process of the language, it is important to get familiar with the
different kinds of tasks you may find on international examinations. For that reason, during this level,
you will have to work 12 asynchronous hours to practice listening, writing, grammar, vocabulary,
reading, pronunciation and, speaking. Every week you have to complete these mandatory tasks
detailed in the study plan and on this paper as homework. Your teacher will inform the way to receive
them. (Comunícate, OneDrive, institutional e-mail)

AFTER-READING
C. Imagine you live in the U.S. at the time of the story. Which of the following
reasons would you choose to convince people of the convenience of
admitting black players into the Major League?
1. It's unjust and immoral to deny black baseball players the opportunity to play in the
Major Leagues. We pride ourselves on equality and freedom, yet we deny these basic
rights to a significant portion of our population. We must break down the barriers of
segregation and allow black players to showcase their talents.
2. Integrating the Major Leagues will expand the talent pool and increase the quality of
play. More importantly, it will bring in a larger fan base and generate greater revenue
for the league and its teams. This is not just the right thing to do; it is also the smart
thing to do.
3. Allowing black players to play in the Major Leagues is a matter of national pride. We
need to show the world that we are a nation that values fairness and equality, and that
we are willing to take a stand against discrimination and prejudice. By integrating the
Major Leagues, we will be demonstrating that we are truly the land of the free and the
home of the brave.

My choice is: _____.

D. One of the themes touched on in the reading is Segregation. The lines
