Youth Climate Pitch - Briefing for Finalists

EU Climate Diplomacy Week - One Day Conference

Congratulations for making it to the top 30! There is only one step for you to win the prize of
internship opportunities: pitch your ideas to the judges. The following are several details that
may help your preparation before the pitching session.

Event Information

The event will take place at M Bloc Space, Jakarta from 15:00 – 16:30. However, you can
enter the ‘Creative Hall’ venue as early as 13:00 to familiarise yourself and join the first talk
show!

There will be 3 areas during the pitch session, based on the ‘Youth Climate Pitch’ themes:
1.) Clean energy, 2.) Nature and Biodiversity, 3.) Sustainable Consumption and Production.
The organising committee will help direct you to the right pitching area.

The venue is accessible by public transportation such as MRT, TransJakarta and Bus with

● Scroll down to the list of your events and find the Youth Climate Pitch event then click
Join
● You’ll be directed to a zoom link and will be let in once the event starts.

● There will be 3 breakout rooms based on the themes and you’ll be invited based on
the schedule provided at the event.

Technicalities for Presentation

All the finalists are divided into the themes of: 1) Clean energy, 2) Nature, biodiversity and
ocean, and 3) Sustainable production and consumption. Each theme consists of 10 finalists
as listed in the rundown.

You will be given 5 minutes presentation time, with a 2-minute transition between each
finalist to present your pitch deck and explain your idea based on your essay submission
to the judges. Each finalist is required to make a 5-slide presentation, consisting of:
● 1 slide for introduction (name, institution, background of problem);
● 3 slides for ideas and arguments about your corresponding topic;
● 1 slide for conclusion and call to action.

Finalists can submit their presentation here under the respective theme.

Panel of Judges and Assessment

There will be a total of 5 internship providers present in the pitching session! They are the
ones who will assess your performance, and reward you with the internship opportunities.

The internship will be relevant with your chosen theme for the pitching session. The panel
judges consist of 2 - 4 people, at the level of program manager from the respective
internship providers and the organiser of the Climate Pitch Competition.

You will be assessed based on five main competencies as follow:

About the Internships

Top winners of each theme (and maybe more) will be rewarded with an internship
opportunity in EU projects or European companies based in Indonesia - all expenses paid!

The internship period will take place as early as October, from 1 - 3 months, depending on
the availability of the winners and the internship providers.

The location of the internship may vary, and will be informed later in the coming weeks.

About the EU CDW

The EU Climate Diplomacy Week takes place on 18 Sept - 1 Oct. Apart from the Youth
Climate Pitch Competition, there are other interesting events geared for youth. We have talk
shows on energy, pollution control. green jobs, Ambassador - Youth Dialogue, cycling event,
community gathering, music performances, and film screening. Register yourself here for all

Winners of the Youth Climate Pitch competition will be announced at the Green Gathering at
the Park, to be held on GBK Softball Field on 1 October 2022.
