5 My Family
5 My Family
5 My Family
Good Morning everyone, a very warm welcome to the honorable judges, precise time
keeper, respected teachers and students. My name is Aryan Dion bin Azman. Today, I am
going to talk about “My Family”.
Before I begin my presentation, I would like all of you to think deeply regarding this
question. When we say “Family”, what does it mean to you? And why is it important?
Firstly, let me share a little bit more about my family. My family consists of three
people: my dad, my mom and me. My dad’s name is Azman and he is a policeman. Due to
his profession, he taught me to be tough and stand on my own. He likes to play soccer with
his friends on his free time. On the other hand, my mom’s name is Jesica and she is a full
time housewife. My mom have got green fingers and she is very good at gardening. She is
very gentle and taught me to be passionate about the things I love. As you know, I am Dion,
the only child in the family. I like reading books and making my parents’ happy. I’m also
learning to play guitar.
For me, family is about relationship. Relationships are about love and affection,
respecting and understanding, learning and helping, sharing and feeling, trusting and
confiding, service and gratitude. It is about giving and receiving moral support in times of
challenge. It is about sharing a joy, a joy which has no meaning in solitude.
Most of us, kids, make the mistake of not giving value or importance to our family.
Sometimes, we get mad at them for our own reasons, but we should always put in our mind
that life is too short. So while it is early, show them how you love them. Show them that you
care and appreciate them by spending more times together. Don’t waste the times, days and
weeks and years that God gave to you. Use it right.
Let me add a special word about family. Our family is the most precious thing we
have. The friends that we have today may not be our friends in the future, but our family?
They will always be our family that will always be there for us during ups and downs and
love us no matter what. We might not be able to choose our family, but we could choose how
we treat them.
To me, the value of family is priceless; no one could ever buy them and it cannot be
described by a single word. I have a wonderful and loving family with my mom and dad,
supporting and giving me all the attention I need. I am grateful to be born in this family,
especially giving thanks to God for my parents.
Before I end, I would like you to reflect on this quotation: “Family is not just an
important thing, but they are everything.” Thank you
