FIELD STUDY 1
Name: Amurao, Loreyn Kailah B. Course Year and Section: BSEd Filipino 4-B
Date: 10/09/23
I. Objectives:
A. Describe a learning environment that you have witnessed.
B. Give the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for learners.
C. Reflect on the school environment that promotes learning. What are its characteristics?
II. Steps:
A. Familiarize yourself with the different areas and facilities of the school.
B. Take note of the things/facilities you found in a school environment.
2. Why is it important for teachers to provide learners an environment that promotes learning?
A positive learning environment can have a significant impact on students' emotional well-
being. When students feel safe, respected, and valued, they are more likely to have a positive self-
image, experience reduced stress and anxiety, and develop a sense of belonging within the
classroom community. On the other side, it also promotes confidence-building, wherein effective
teaching and a supportive classroom environment can boost students' confidence in their abilities.
When students experience success and receive constructive feedback, they are more likely to believe
in their own potential and take on new challenges. And lastly, it will benefit the cognitive
development of students because an environment that promotes learning is designed to stimulate
cognitive growth. Teachers can structure lessons, activities, and classroom arrangements to optimize
students' cognitive development, critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and creativity.
IV. Analysis
V. Reflection
As a future teacher, what kind of environment would you like to have? Why do you want to
have that kind of environment? Illustrate or paste a picture of your chosen school/classroom
environment. Write you insights/ learnings under the picture/illustration.
I picture the perfect classroom as one that emphasizes diversity, flexibility, technology
integration, and visual inspiration. Students are given the freedom to choose their favorite seating
configuration for a variety of learning activities thanks to flexible seating alternatives like cozy
chairs, standing desks, and collaborative tables. Individual tablets, interactive whiteboards, and
dependable internet connectivity are all seamlessly linked with technology to increase engagement
and give users access to online resources. The classroom is visually stimulating, decorated with
instructive posters, vibrant artwork, and motivational sayings. Student work is also prominently
exhibited to honor their accomplishments. A comfortable reading nook encourages reading
enjoyment and provides a peaceful location for solitary study, while collaboration areas furnished
with whiteboards and corkboards make it easier to collaborate and share ideas. The environment is
inclusive, featuring adjustable furniture and clear pathways for accessibility. Adequate storage keeps
the space organized and clutter-free, and a positive classroom culture is cultivated through
inclusivity, respect, and open communication. Proper climate control ensures a comfortable learning
atmosphere, and the layout is designed for personalization and adaptability to cater to different
teaching styles and the evolving needs of students.
Under the picture or illustration, these insights and learnings offer valuable guidance for
crafting an effective and student-centered classroom environment: Flexibility Is Key. Recognizing
that a flexible seating arrangement empowers students and enhances engagement, providing various
seating options becomes essential to cater to diverse learning preferences. Technology integration:
while technology can greatly enhance learning experiences and prepare students for the digital age,
maintaining a balance between digital and offline activities is crucial to avoid overreliance.
Classroom culture: the foundation of effective teaching and learning lies in fostering a positive
classroom culture built on values of respect, inclusivity, and clear communication among all
members. Student ownership: involving students in designing the classroom and showcasing their
work not only fosters pride but also cultivates a sense of ownership, making them more invested in
their learning space. Accessibility—ensuring that the classroom is accessible to all students,
regardless of their abilities—is an essential component of inclusive teaching, promoting equal
opportunities for everyone. Adaptability: recognizing that an ideal classroom should be adaptable to
various teaching approaches and the evolving needs of students, continuous assessment and
modifications are necessary to create an environment where students can flourish and realize their
full potential. The journey of creating and sustaining an ideal classroom environment is an ongoing
commitment to nurturing student well-being, engagement, and achievement. As a future teacher, I
aspire to embrace these principles to provide space where students can thrive and excel.
VI. Documentation
Take some pictures of the environment of the school where you are deployed. Write two or
three related sentences about each picture. Maximum of four pictures.
Sindalan National High School has two gates where students, teachers, and other members
of the school can enter and exit the school safely and securely. It also has a wide court where
students can do their activities and a spacious stage where they can perform their stage-activity
performances.
It also has a wide board where it contains precautions, disaster risks, and reductions, as well
as the Sindalan National High School Map. It has the principal's office, which is very welcoming;
the registrar's office, where inside are the documents and files of the students; and the clinic. And
the comfort room, student center, and water station were all free to use.
