Facial Massages
Cleansing or makeup removal massage
It is a massage to remove impurities, dirt or makeup residue. It is our first contact with the patient
so it must be soft, delicate and relaxing. We do it with different cleaning products, which have the
main drag function. Some of the products we could use are:
This massage is very beneficial for mature or aged skin that does not have good muscle tone or
good coloration with a withered or cretin appearance.
We can also use Dermalux oil, Blueberry Oil, Chocolate Oil or Selene Oil.
Contraindications:
It is contraindicated in very young skin (puberty) in sensitive, acneic skin (with the exception of
comedogenic acne).
Descaling massage
Penetration Massage
The objective of this massage is to help the active ingredients we use in the treatments penetrate
more easily and quickly, which can be ampoules, decadoses, vials, emulsions, etc. It should be done
slowly, gently and at the same time with deep and firm maneuvers and movements; In addition to
activating circulation, it tones the skin.
It is usually very relaxing and even relaxing in the trapezius and neck.
We can do it with an oil such as: Chocolate or a Cream such as Citoactive or any product that
emulsifies such as Ondina Oil or Selene.
Contraindications:
It is a massage that is performed slowly and gently, it basically includes three maneuvers: fire,
drags and tanks.
It is considered an internal facial cleansing since it helps, through the mobilization of lymph, to
improve the elimination of toxins from our defense system, prevents fluid retention, nourishes and
oxygenates the skin in addition to toning it.
It can be done with the products that we complete our treatment such as fluids, creams or
sunscreens.
Contraindications:
There are no contraindications in healthy people, it is even recommended to always perform the
DLM at the end of a treatment.
pH
Hydrogen potential in a substance
The pH determines the amount of ions in a solution, the greater the amount of ions, the more acidic
the skin is and the lower the amount of ions, the greater the alkalinity in it.
Coefficient that determines the degree of acidity or basicity (alkalinity) of a substance or aqueous
solution.
Acids and bases have a characteristic that allows us to measure them, it is the concentration of
Hydrogen ions; and pH is a numerical value that expresses its concentration.
The true values for these hydrogen ion concentrations are typically a very small fraction, e.g.:
1/10,000,000 because this is a very uncomfortable number to work with, a unique scale was
devised.
The numbers from 0 to 7 on the scale indicate acidic solutions, and 7 to 14 indicate alkaline
solutions.
The more alkaline a substance is, the closer its pH will be to 14.
pH. 7 = neutral pH.
The more acidic a substance is, the closer its pH will be to 0.
The skin's acid mantle is the key to creating the skin's protective barrier; Its action is to protect,
inhibits the growth of bacteria and restores and maintains the natural flora of the skin.
Exfoliation
It is a procedure that can be performed with different techniques whose objective is to remove dead
cells and impurities to make the skin more permeable so that the application of products and
electrical currents is more effective; Exfoliation is essential in facial protocols since it also makes
the skin brighter and healthier looking.
Physics or mechanics:
It is carried out with a cosmetic product that generally comes in the form or presentation of a gel,
cream or emulsion; It contains natural or synthetic lumps with which circular movements are made
to achieve the effect of dragging or sanding the skin, hence the name exfoliation.
Note the most common are the so-called Gommage which, as mentioned above, contain drag
granules, which act by dragging the dead cells on the surface of the skin .
Chemical Exfoliation
They are exfoliants that do not require a physical or mechanical movement to carry out their
function or action, they have the characteristic that once you apply them they begin to act and the
professional begins taking the pose time since they have precise time indications. .
Contraindications:
Skin with any condition or wound
Sensitized.
Note:
In addition to having a pose time, it
requires neutralization, which is done
with a gel, shampoo, cleansing milk or
oil. Never with just water.
