1 .0 INTRODUCTION
Oral diseases, especially cavities and periodontitis, are one of the most prevalent
health problems in developed countries.

CARIES is an INFECTIOUS disease, like any other that we see daily in health services
consultations, with the particularity that it is the most prevalent, although the mild nature
of this disease and the low socio-cultural level of educational knowledge makes it one
of the least consulted.

Caries is, furthermore, a CHRONIC, recurrent, cumulative and irreversible process

(without spontaneous healing), which affects the calcified tissues of the teeth, causing
changes in color, loss of translucency and decalcification of the teeth with the formation
of cavities.

For the World Health Organization (WHO) it is the 3rd health calamity after
cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

Through this project, we seek to provide a solution with strategies to the transitional
boys and girls of the educational establishment of oral hygiene habits: such as brushing
after each meal, failure to do so causes cavities, tartar, missing teeth, bad breath, not
doing so affects chewing food and delays its own development in the child, therefore
healthy oral health is essential.

It is important to have knowledge of the topic, knowing that the teacher is obliged to
help solve the problem presented. In this case, parents are guided to see a dentist with
their children as well as to establish routines of oral health hygiene habits and thus
work hand in hand with the teacher where together they fulfill an important duty in the
education of the child. .

To provide a solution, significant dynamic activities are carried out in order to create
awareness in children of the importance of hygiene habits, which allows us to improve
their oral health, which benefits them for their development and growth

2 .0 JUSTIFICATION

Oral diseases are not life-threatening, but their prevalence and incidence are
considered health problems. This project seeks to ensure that school transition boys
and girls have knowledge about the importance and need to create oral hygiene habits,
to avoid future diseases or anomalies that may affect oral health.
Through correct education, it is possible to improve hygienic habits since in boys and
girls behavior can be modified more effectively.

In addition, the participation of parents and adolescents plays a very important role,
where they help implement oral hygiene motivation strategies and thus avoid diseases
such as cavities and gingivitis.

Dental caries is a moderately prevalent health problem. The high morbidity due to
caries and periodontal diseases, and the high sensitivity and effectiveness of the main
preventive measures, justify the program.

From the studies carried out in the region on oral hygiene and gingival examinations in
schoolchildren, it can be seen that there is poor hygiene in 3 out of every 4 children;
Children have gingival problems.

The detection of individuals at high risk of suffering from cavities is the main
intervention to be carried out by public health services,

Especially from primary health care and aimed at the school population and it is in
these Primary Care teams and in the Health Units

Oral where a poor state of oral health has been detected in the population of the area
and there is little awareness about its importance, as well as little knowledge about how
to perform oral hygiene.
3 .0 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In Extremadura, as in the rest, dental caries is a moderately prevalent health problem.

The high morbidity due to caries and periodontal diseases, and the high sensitivity and
effectiveness of the main preventive measures, justify the program.

From the studies carried out in the region on oral hygiene and gingival examinations in
schoolchildren, it can be seen that there is poor hygiene in 3 out of every 4 children;
72% of children have gingival problems.

The detection of individuals at high risk of suffering from cavities is the main
intervention to be carried out by public health services, especially from primary health
care and aimed at the school population and is in these Primary Care teams and in the
Oral Health Units. where a poor state of oral health has been detected in the population
of the area and little awareness of its importance, as well as little knowledge about how
to perform oral hygiene.

strengthen hygiene habits.

5 .0 THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Torre Gelvez María (2001) carried out a study with the purpose
of knowing the degree of knowledge of the pregnant woman about oral hygiene in the
newborn. To carry out this study, a sample of 40 pregnant, primigravida women was
taken, who were first evaluated according to a data sheet, following the inclusion and
exclusion criteria, and then evaluated by oral health status questionnaires. the pregnant
woman takes care of the infant's oral health, knowledge of dental development in the
infant, in addition to the odontostomalogical record, which consists of an odontogram
and simplified oral hygiene indices.

The oral health questionnaire of the pregnant woman showed that a high percentage
(72.5%) are well informed, which is corroborated by a prevalence of 60% being good in
the IHO-5 versus 1.25% being bad. . In the infant's oral health care questionnaire, a
high percentage (8.5%) was found to be poorly informed.

The objective of this project was based on a study where oral hygiene was
reported in pregnant women in their first month of pregnancy.

Thus, through mobile clinics, a good way to promote good hygiene habits for
pregnant women because during pregnancy the teeth are decalcified and oral
hygiene is demolished according to the mother's mood.

Therefore, this research revealed that dental and stomatological specialists need
an odontogram to know how women are doing in their oral hygiene; Thus,
through a questionnaire, a high percentage was observed: 72.5% are well
informed, with which we realized that 60% have poor hygiene and 8.5% are
poorly informed, concerns should be taken for habits. of hygiene.

As they already detected the shortcomings and made the project be carried out
to improve oral hygiene in pregnant women.

Arias Arce C. N (2000). I carried out a descriptive, observational

and retrospective cross-sectional study, with the purpose of evaluating the level of
knowledge of preventive oral health measures in a group of 263 pregnant women who
attended the IPSSS and the other from public health. To determine the level of
knowledge of the pregnant women, a questionnaire of 10 questions was prepared
regarding their education, visits to the dentist, oral health, pregnancy condition and
fluoride application using a classification scale with null levels 0-2 responses. Guiding
them towards prevention: medium 6-7 responses and high 8-9 responses.

The relationship between the level of knowledge in the level of education in the
trimester of pregnancy and visits to the dentist was established; it was found that the
most frequent level of knowledge was medium with 87.1% (299 pregnant women).
Furthermore, it was possible to establish that the level of education prevailed in the
majority of the pregnant women: complete secondary to higher education. Likewise, it
was said that there is a close relationship between the level of knowledge and the
degree of instruction.

It established that health centers keep track of pregnant women who attend oral
check-ups and visit the dentist as many times as necessary to keep track of good
health during the determined period of pregnancy.

They help those who lack this help and classify these women so that they have
good health without affecting the growth of their baby so that they do not have
problems later in their growth. That is why they implemented and created
campaigns and trained people to put these into practice. projects and raise
awareness among these inexperienced women on this topic of oral health, for
professionals it is important to make known the importance of good oral hygiene,
they must change their eating habits which could help reduce the risk of cavities,
they must know the importance of ultra-fine brushing that helps them delicately
clean their mouth.

Velasquez Huama (1995)

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of knowledge about preventive
measures for oral diseases in a group of 137 pregnant mothers belonging to the so-
called IPSS. To determine the level of knowledge, a questionnaire of 10 questions
regarding children's dental hygiene was prepared and used a rating scale with levels
with the level of education, trimester of pregnancy and number of pregnancies. It was
found that the most frequent level of knowledge was moderate with 66.6% of the
mothers. It was also possible to establish that within this group of pregnant women, the
level of secondary education prevailed.

This study is based on pregnant women, to know their level of knowledge about
oral diseases, two questionnaires were carried out that these women filled out to
measure their knowledge and the care that these women put into practice during
their pregnancy, it was noted that 60% of They have a very basic knowledge
about oral hygiene diseases when it comes to treating them, they do not know
how to do it, they do not go to the dentist during their pregnancies so that they
can keep track of said pregnancies and do not have tooth loss, bad breath or
deformities dental and these also do not affect their fetuses.

It was also noted that the majority of these women had a basic knowledge of
studies up to the high school level, nothing more, their knowledge is very basic
in general.

In the end, these women were able to increase their knowledge, the care they
should take during their pregnancies and the risks of oral diseases.

SUMMARY

Dental practice has developed processes of political reflection to other disciplines, one
of these proposals is to think about oral health from the collective dimension. This
paper proposes the development of a new field of action for Colombia's oral health
agenda through the analysis of some social and health indicators. In addition, some
principles in collective oral health are proposed: oral health as a fundamental right, the
community capacity to assume control of health and its determinations, as well as the
participation of economic, academic and health service social actors, a role is required.
protagonist with greater collective awareness of professionals, decision makers and the
health sector in general.

The development that is proposed is very important for the oral health of
Colombia and the rights are fundamental for community capacity with the
participation of appropriate people who implement a leading role with greater
knowledge of health as professionals who make the most important decision for
sectors who lack information, start implementing a good hygiene habit.

THE LAZY MOUSE
Pepito Pérez was a little city mouse who lived with his family in a hole
in the wall in a large building. The hole was not very big but it was
very comfortable and from their den the family could find food very
easily since they lived next to a bakery and at night he and his father
went to collect flour and the remains of bread they found.

One day Pepito was at home and heard a big commotion upstairs.
Being curious, he climbed and climbed the pipes to the top floor.
When he arrived he discovered some strange devices that he had
never seen before. Everything seemed to indicate that this place
would come to life very soon.
The next day, Pepito went up again to meet the new neighbors. This
is how he discovered that they had opened a dental clinic. From then
on the little mouse went up every morning and spent long hours
contemplating the work of the clinic's doctor. Every day he did the
same thing: he went up and stayed watching and learning.
Sometimes he even wrote down what he could in a small cardboard
notebook.

Thus he began to learn some secrets to relieve tooth pain, and very
soon he began to practice that knowledge with his own family. He
cleaned his mother's teeth very well and cured his little sister's
toothache using some of the medicine from the clinic. As time went
by, the fame of the tooth fairy spread among the mice, who came
from all over to be cured.

Country mice with a bag full of food, city mice with a hat and cane,
small, big, fat, skinny mice... They all wanted the tooth fairy to fix
their mouths and relieve their toothache.

However, after a while the elderly mice also began to arrive with a big
problem. They didn't have teeth but they wanted the tooth fairy to
help them so they could eat nougat, walnuts and almonds, like they
did when they were young. The tooth fairy thought about how he
could help these mice that trusted him so much, but he couldn't think
of any solution.

So, as he usually did when he had a question, he went up to the

dental clinic to look. There he saw how the doctor gave an old man
some very beautiful teeth. However, those teeth were not natural but
were made in a large factory for dentists. The little mouse thought
about taking some of those teeth to help his friends, but he realized
that they were huge and would not be of any use.

Then, when he was going home, a boy appeared at the clinic with his
mother. The boy wanted the doctor to remove one of his baby teeth
so that the other, stronger and larger tooth could emerge quickly.

The doctor did so, took it off and then gave it to him as a souvenir.
Then, the tooth fairy found the solution:
– I'll go to that boy's house and buy his tooth – he thought.

Without thinking twice, he followed him throughout the city and when
he finally arrived at the house and was about to enter, he found a
huge cat and had to stay at the door.
The tooth fairy waited until nightfall and everyone went to bed, he
entered the child's room and began to look for the tooth, but no
matter how hard he searched, he could not find it since the child had
fallen asleep looking at his tooth and had left it. under his pillow.

The poor tooth fairy had a hard time finding the tooth, but finally,
when he was almost giving up, he sat up in bed and saw something
sticking out: It was the tooth!

He took it carefully and so that the boy wouldn't be sad when he woke
up and couldn't find his tooth, he left him the coin. The next morning
the boy saw the gift and was very happy and told all his friends at
school.

Thus, the Tooth Fairy made the children happy and the old mice
could eat again. And from that day on, all children leave their baby
teeth under their pillow. And the tooth fairy picks them up and leaves
them some coins or a gift in exchange.
CONCLUSIONS

• To conclude, it is essential to know the different oral hygiene habits in children

so that each of them has the goal of a healthy life without complications of
cavities, tartar, bad breath or the loss of any of their teeth later.

• Likewise, it is important to have the necessary implements to carry out a good

cleaning from the moment they begin to have their first teeth to take care of
those that will begin to emerge later, which is why our job as a teacher is to
encourage good habits in children and in the entire educational community.
hygiene to take care of the health of each of the children.

• It should be taken into account that hygiene habits are one of the most frequent
diseases in childhood due to the fact that parents do not worry about the care of
children's teeth without realizing that they can affect the later tooth growth.

• Carrying out different activities with children is essential to use different teaching
materials so that each child can learn through practice the proper cleaning of
each of their teeth when brushing and using dental floss without hurt the gums.
