Encountering different voices is not new to me.

I grew up in Shanghai, an energetic city that

serves as a hub of humanity. Over 24 million lives intersect every year in one way or another.
Perhaps, this was the starting point for me to become a global citizen. As a result of exposure to
diverse cultural backgrounds, I have developed a natural curiosity in who my partners are and
what they do. This sense of curiosity has shaped me to be inclusive and embrace diversity. Later
on, I developed a heightened appreciation for diversity through cross-cultural training that I
received during intensive Chinese-German management training. This experience has also
ingrained in me the determination to strive for improving understanding of others. I strongly
believe that developing empathy for people of all backgrounds accrues dividends greatly in
today's complex and diverse world. I believe that learning in a diverse and multicultural
environment can inspire innovation in business. This is the reason why I have chosen to pursue
my MBA at Goethe University. This program consistently aims to promote global perspectives.

I began my academic career at the Shanghai University of Technology(SUT). In my four years at

SUT, I majored in international Trade and received my Bachelors degree. While learning in
school, I focused on hard-working and enjoyed learning new things. Until now, my current GPA
of 3.65/4.5 is a vivid evidence of the passion for learning inside my heart, which makes me
always seek interests in all educational opportunities to refine its impact on business
management. Receiving my B2 certificate from the German European Standard is another solid
proof of my passion for acquiring foreign languages. )

In addition to my educational accomplishments, I have also had professional experience via

working full time and internship. Upon graduation I secured a job as a Marketing Coordinator at
a multinational corporation which gave me an opportunity to take the theoretical knowledge
that I received from university and put it to use in the real business field. I managed some
marketing campaigns which had a visible effect on the company's work – the level of clients’
engagement and the brand awareness had substantially boosted. This experience not only
showed my ability to stick to strategic planning, but also revealed my capacity to air my ideas in
decent way and in a team-player fashion while having strong analytical skills.

A motivation for me going on to a global consultancy internship was to help me build further
upon this and to deepen my professional portfolio. This internship meant working with diverse
clients and projects across various industries and countries, all while quickly adapting to a
multitude of cultural contexts and personalities. From the start, this challenged and expanded
my worldview and understanding of international business, though it also showed me how to
graciously approach and accept difference as an invaluable component of innovation and
growth.

With regards to such extracurricular activities, I have acted as a founder member of a student-
run cultural exchange student group to break down kind of barriers between people from
different countries. The main task of our group is to give people of different cultures for example,
Indonesian, Chinese and British society a chance to know each other better. We organise
different cultural events by inviting people to dance, sing, write or tell their stories by
themselves.
By combining my academic perspectives with my professional experiences and extracurricular
involvements, I, indeed become a competitive fit for the Master of Business Administration
program at Goethe University. Having a strong academic background, an international
orientation, as well as excellent communication skills, enable me to successfully complete the
study on an international level. I am sure that being a passionate learner, having a great love of
diversity and being able to work effectively across cultures will enrich the program’s inclusive and
international learning experience.

In addition, I would like to point out the position of Goethe University as a leading and high-
profile university in the world of business education with its special emphasis on a global-
mindedness that will ensure a perfect match with my long-term career goals as well. Upon the
completion of my studies I hope to stay in Germany for couple more years with the goal to start
working for an international company so that I can use my skills, know-how and global-
mindedness to contribute to their growth and strategy development. The Master of Business
Administration program at Goethe University will undoubtedly equip me with the insights,
expertise, and network that will be necessary in order to meet this goal and therefore it
represents the perfect further development for me.

To conclude, the academic training, professional experiences and extra-curricular activities has
equipped me with the ability of being a global citizen with empathy towards different countries. I
remain a learner and possessed with self-motivation until the goal has been reached. The MBA
programme at Goethe University with a focus on global perspectives will enable me to expand
my scope towards new areas, improve my skills and make a great impact on the business world. I
look forward to the journey and making a positive impact on the MBA programme from a global
citizen perspective.
