must have a school badge for identity.
⮚ 1 tie of dark brown and white strips
⮚ 2 Pairs of socks (beige and dark brown strips for boys) and (white and dark brown stripes
for girls).
⮚ 1 Dark brown Pullover with V-shaped Neck, with white strips at neck, arm-wrist and
waist. Must have a school badge.
⮚ Two white vests for boys
⮚ A black leather belt for boys ( compulsory)

e) Games attire:
A printed school golden yellow T-shirt and dark green short for both boys and girls made of derrick
material.

SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS:

The following rules and regulations govern students’ actions any time they are under the supervision and guidance of
Kainuk Mixed Secondary School staff. Students are advised to adhere to these rules at ALL TIMES in order to realize
academic excellence. Students are further encouraged to use their COMMON SENSE. i.e. doing the right thing in the
right place at the right time.

1) School Attendance: Students must report to school on the first day of opening unless stated otherwise. A student
who comes to school late must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to explain the reason for reporting late.

2) Dress code: a) All students should be in school uniform while in school, when travelling to and from school and
when representing the school in co-curricular activities.

b) Civilian attire will be confiscated.

3) School routine: All students must attend all sessions in class, laboratory, games, P.E, clubs and societies and preps as
required unless exempted by relevant authority. Students who do not adhere to the school routine will be sent home for
a parent.

4) Respect to authority: Students are expected to obey and respect teachers, parents, support staff, prefects and any
other person in authority, at all times. Any act of disobedience or rudeness can lead to two weeks’ suspension.

5) Prohibited vices: Drinking alcohol, smoking and abuse of any form of drugs, fighting, stealing, sneaking, bullying,
intimidation and truancy. Such vices will be punished by suspension.
6) Permission: All students must seek permission from the head teacher or teacher on duty where necessary. Permission
to attend funerals will be restricted to immediate family members only and the responsible person must collect the
student from school.

7) Sickness: A student who is sick will be allowed to go to Kainuk Health Centre for medication. Serious cases can be
allowed to go home for further treatment and the cost met by parents.

8) Visitors: No students are allowed to talk to visitors without permission or leave class to see a visitor. Talking to
strangers over the fence will earn the concerned student suspension.

9) Places out of bounds: Students are not allowed in the following places: Staff houses, non-teaching staff houses and
Kitchen.

10) Food: There is no special diet for any student who cannot take what the school offers. Cooked food from outside is
not allowed in school except fruits.

11) Manual work: All students are expected to do School Manual work. No student is exempted from school community work
unless he/she has special permission from a medical officer and the case is known to the administration

12) Language policy: All students are required to use fluent English and Kiswahili as their media of communication. The use of
vernacular in school is punishable.
13) Care of school property: Any damage to school property arising from disobedience, carelessness or misuse must be paid for.
School property is inclusive of things used in classrooms, laboratories, games fields or boarding section.
14) Mobile phones: Students are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. If found it will be confiscated and will never be
returned.
