I. Applications and Characteristics of the Machine


This press is suitable for pressing operations such as punching, pressing, stamping,
bending, flanging and extrusion etc. of plasticity materials. It is also used for straightening,

pressure assembling and molding of powder products as well as nonmetal materials such as
plastics, insulator and abrasive products etc..
This press, with independent motive organization and electric system, adopts the control
system of the centralized buttons, and controls technical operations with the PLC to achieve
adjustment (inching) and operation (semi-auto).
The working pressure, stroke can be adjusted in the defined range.

III. Brief introduction of construction


This press is a framework-type hydraulic press. It consists of the body and control
device, which are connected by the oil pipe and the electric device to work coordinately. The
body consists of machine frame, main cylinder, hydraulic mat and profile device. The control
device consists of drive mechanism, electric box and control box .The main parts of the press
are described as follows:

(1) Body (see Overall drawing)
The body consists of following parts: shift guide, main frame of framed hydraulic
press slide beam, work table.
(2) Main cylinder (see Main cylinder drawing)
The main cylinder consists of the body of cylinder; piston head piston rod; guide bush
and seals etc.. The cylinder body is fixed in the top beam by the low shoulder and the up lock
nuts, the lower end of the piston rod is connected with the slide by the flange & screw bolts.
The cast iron piston head is used to guide. There are inverse direction seal rings in the ex-
circle of the piston head and O-type seal rings inside, which can form two chambers in the
cylinder. In the lower end of the cylinder seal rings are used to seal the lower chamber of
cylinder.
3 Control board
The Control Board is portable, switches and time relays are fixed on its face plate.
4 Stroke limit device
Stroke limit device is fixed to the right side of the machine body. It consists of a frame
holder, a ram block, a proximity switch, etc.. To adjust the proximity switch’s position will
enable the slide beam stop at any job required position.
5 The hydraulic power system
The hydraulic power system consists of steel-welded oil tank, high-lift pump, motor,
pressure valve and direction valve etc.. The filter screen is mounted inside the oil tank, oil
level should always be higher above the indicated line. Oil must be filtered strictly before
being filled into the oil tank. The 46# wear-proof oil is recommended to use in the press.

Hydraulic system refers to hydraulic schematic drawing and electromagnets actions
sequence chart.
V. Electric system

The press power supply is of AC 380V(±10%) 50Hz. Transformer offers 220v for the
control circuit.
The press is equipped with an independent electric control cabinet and control board.
Basis the press technology, the press provides two operation methods: “inching” and “semi-
auto”.
During operation, press “Double Hand” buttons simultaneously (within 0.5 second), the
press can finish a pressing process.
(2) Electric driving device and main technical parameter
The oil pump used in the machine is driven by a 3-phase induction motor Y225M-4
45kw 380V one
The main electric technical parameters of the press as below:

Voltage: ~380V
Phase: 3
Frequency: 50HZ
Total fusing rated current: 160A

(3) Stroke and pressure signal buttons


The usage of various limit switches:
SQ1 Main cylinder upper limit switch
SQ2 Main cylinder lower limit switch
SP Pressure signal releasing switch

Operation sequences are introduced according to the designed working process:
First, start the motor and notice the turning direction, which should be same as that of
the pump. If they are different, the system can’t work, and may lead to a break down.
a. Initial position: Press “Inching” button to let the slide return to the extreme return

position, which leading to the pressed connection of Proximity switch “SQ1”.
b. Operation sequence:
First turn Switch “SA1” to “Semi-auto” position.
Then adjust the initial pressure of the pressure-sensing device and the position of
Proximity switches“SQ1-2”.
After this press the button named “Double Hand”.This machine will finish each action
as follow, according to the ready set technical process:
-The slide down strokes speedily
-The slide down strokes slowly
-Pressure holding time delay
-Pressure releasing time delay
-Slide beam returning
5 Other actions
a. Rest: When the machine must stop working, push the button of “rest”, the machine
stops working immediately, but the motor still works.
b. Emergency Stop: Push down the red button of “emergency stop”, the control power
would stop, the press stops immediately.
(6) Electrical interlock and electrical protect device
a In the main circuit ,the auto-switch is used as a short circuit protection, and thermal
relay as a overload protection of the electric motor. In the control circuit, mini-breaker
is used as a short circuit protection.
b The electrical devices have special reliable earth device.
VI. Installation and trial running of the press
The installation may be done as the following:
Install the Press on the cement grounds which the level tolerance no more
than 0.2/1000mm. Then fasten the foundation bolts.
Connect the piles and the wires according to the drawings attached.

Fill up the hydraulic oil about 1400 liters.
Lubricate the surface of the bushes and the guides, and check the wire connections
before test run.
Power on, and then check the motor rotary direction.
At the inching mode, check the actions of the valves and the pumps.
Regulate the accuracy and set the required working pressure of the Press.

The above are just for reference. When the machine is breakdown, you are requested to
first analyze the causes, then check it one by one.

VIII. Maintenance and safe operation rules


The operator must be familiar with the construction performance and the operation
sequences of the machine before running it. It can ensure the safety operation and get the
longest service life.

1. Maintenance
a. We recommend 46# hydraulic oil for this machine.
b. Oil must be filtered strictly before being filled into the oil tank.
c. The oil should be changed once every year, but the first time should be within three
months.
d. The sliding block should be lubricated regularly. The outside part of the vertical column
and the piston rod should be kept clean and oil sprayed every time before operation.
e. Check the manometer once every half a year;
f. If the machine is unused for a long time, its machined surface should be cleaned and
lubricated with anti-rust oil.
g. water flow of plate-type heat exchanger is at least 162L/min.
(2) Safe operation rules
a. Those people who are not familiar with its construction performance and its
operation sequence of this machine are not allowed to operate the machine.
b. It is prohibited to overhaul the machine or to adjust the die during its running.
c. When you find serious oil leakage or other abnormality of this machine such as the
unsuccessful action some noise and vibrations , you should stop it quickly, then analyze
the causes and try to find out the trouble shooting method. It is not allowed to run the
machine with troubles.
d. It is prohibited to run the machine overload or beyond its eccentricity limitation.
e. The electricity equipments must be earthed reliably and firmly.
