1 Description
The hoses used on PALFINGER cranes are permanently checked in our in-house testing laboratory. The hoses
were improved over the last years togehter with our suppliers to fulfil our high requirements and to ensure that
they fit perfect to our standard of quality and function.
At the test bench all components of a hydraulic hose (raw hose and fittings) are checked togehter and approved
for the crane and the production.
Pipes as well as hoses underlie steady tests to check the quality.
With this spare part bulletin you find a summary about the improvements we made and the advantages when
you use PALFINGER hoses and pipes.
The complexity of a hydraulic system from a loader crane, the requirements of the components regarding the
high pressure and the often very special installation situation of the hoses and the pipes are a precondition to
take ORIGINAL PALFINGER hoses.
Only with ORIGINAL PALFINGER spare parts a save and reliable function of your crane can be supported.

2 Important facts and highlights

This information is just for loader cranes!

2.1 Technical data

Because of the conditions mentioned above we recommended not to use commercially available standard
hoses or pipes in the case of a repair. The following points are reasons why you should use ORIGINAL
PALFINGER spare parts:
 tested and approved parts from the manufacturer
 high working pressure in the hydraulic system
 small bending radius
 abrasion resistance is optimal aligned to the PALFINGER cranes
 improved UV resistance
 correspond and / or exceeds the demands of the engineers standards

3 Details
3.1 Bill of material in PALIPEDIA
From now on the bill of material of EH hoses is available in PALIPEDIA for our Partners who buy raw hoses and
fittings from PALFINGER.
For those who already buy the hoses the function is opened up immediately. For all others who do not buy the
raw hoses and fittings from the spare part center the access is blocked. As soon as you fulfil the above
mentioned requirements get in contact with the spare part center to give access.
After typing the hose part number you get access to the bill of material under the column "action" by clicking the
gear-wheel. Attention: for certain hoses we do not have a bill of material.

In the pop up window you can see the fittings, the used raw hose, the amount and the length of the hose.

We recommend that you give this access to your service partners who buy original PALFINGER hoses and
fittings from you, to help them in their daily work.

3.2 PALFINGER branding and useful data on the hoses

Most of the PALFINGER hoses are already branded. Here we show that this hoses are original hoses and that
they are optimized for the use on our cranes.

A further identification is the laser printed marking of the material number and the production date on the sleeve.
With this information it is easy for you to identifier the hose for ordering or for making the hose by your own
according the PALFINGER quality standards.

3.3 Hose marking at in-house production

For the identification of your in-house produced hoses we recommend a simple marking machine. The fitting is
rolled by a movement of a hand lever and the material number is stamped in.
If you are interested please get in contact with the PPC.

3.4 Stockage of “Code 4” hoses

Please find attached an overview of hoses which are used in code 4 equipment's. Because of the modularity
you can cover many cases just with some hoses.
We have sorted this list, so the most needed code 4 hoses from different crane types are on top of the list.
In the green column you can see our recommendation of a minimum amount on stock. The figures in bold
should be on stock. The cursive written figures are recommended to have it on stock. Please adapt the amount
according the crane park in your country.

As already said PALFINGER hydraulic pipes are under steady quality control.
The pipes are tested optically to check the correct dimensions and the correctness of the bend radiuses.

5 Price reduction of raw hoses

On the 1st July 2015 the PALFINGER parts center will reduce the selling price of many raw hoses in average by
12% (market mix). The raw hoses will be shift to a different price group to correspond to the market needs.
With this price reduction of the recommended retail prices and your prices we want to support you to establish
the PALFINGER hoses on the market. Please forward this price advantage to your partners.

PALFINGER creates SPARE PART bulletins in German and English. All other languages are translations.
