DATA FOR DRAWING SHEETS (FOR ELECTRICAL BRANCH)
SHEET NO.5 PROJECTIONS OF PLANES
1. A square plate of side 60 mm is held on a corner on HP. Plate is inclined to the HP such that the plan of it
is rhombuses with a diagonal of 30 mm. Determine the angle it makes with HP. The other diagonal is
inclined at 45° to VP. Draw the projections of plate.
2. A regular hexagonal plane of 30mm side has one of its corners on the H.P. The
surface of the plane is inclined at 30° to H.P. Draw the projection of the plane when diagonal passing
through the corner on H.P. makes on angle of 45° to the V.P.
3. A circular plate of diameter 60mm is kept on the H.P. on a point of its circumference. The surface of
the circular plate makes an angle of 40° to the H.P.
Draw the projections of the circle when diameter passing through the point on H.P.
makes an angle of 30° to V.P.
4. A regular hexagonal plate, 50 mm side, is resting on one of its corners in H.P.
The diagonal through that corner is inclined at 40° to H.P. and (a) the plan of that diagonal inclined to
V.P. by 30° and (b) diagonal is inclined at 30° to V.P.
5. ABCDE is a regular pentagonal plate of 40mm sides, and has its corner A on the HP. The plate is inclined
to the HP such that the plan length of the edges AB and AE is each 35mm. The side CD is parallel to both
the reference planes. Draw the projections of the plate and find its inclination with HP.
SHEET NO.6 PROJECTIONS OF SOLIDS
1. A tetrahedron of 30 mm side is resting with one of its edges on HP. The edge on which
it rests is inclined at 45° to VP and a face containing that edge is inclined at 30° to HP.
Draw the projections of solid.
2. A square pyramid, base 40mm side, axis 50mm long is freely suspended from one of the corners of its
base. Draw the projections, when the axis as a vertical plane makes an angle of 45° with the V.P. and
assuming the apex near to V.P.
3. A pentagonal prism base 25mm side and height 50mm long is resting on its corner on HP. Draw the
projection when axis of prism is inclined at 30o to HP and the plan of the edge passing through resting
corner is inclined at 45o to VP.
4. A square pyramid, side of base 50mm & axis 80mm long, has one of its triangular faces in the VP & the
edge of its base contained by that face makes an angle of 30o with the HP.
SHEET NO.7 SECTION OF SOLIDS
1. A cone, base 50mm diameter and axis 55mm long is resting on the ground on its base.
It is cut by a section plane, perpendicular to both H.P. and V.P. and 6mm away from the axis. Draw
sectional side view. Mark the height of the section. Also state the nature of the section.
2. A cylinder, base diameter 50mm and axis length 70mm is kept on the H.P. on its base.
It is cut by an A.I.P inclined at 30o to the H.P. and bisecting the axis of the cylinder. Draw
the front view, sectional top view and the true shape of the section.
3. A hexagonal pyramid of base 25mm and height 45mm has one of its triangular faces on the HP and axis
parallel to VP. It is cut by a horizontal section plane which bisects the axis. Draw its sectional top view
and front view.
4. A pentagonal pyramid, side of base 20mm and height 60mm is resting on HP on its base with a side of
base parallel to and nearer to VP. An Auxiliary vertical plane (A.V.P)
perpendicular to HP and inclined to VP by 45o cuts the pyramid at a distance 10mm away from
the axis. Draw plan, sectional elevation and true shape of the section.
