EMPLOYMENT NOTICE
Mizoram University is a Central University accredited Grade “A” by NAAC in 2019. Mizoram is one of
the most peaceful states in the country. The climate is mild both in summer and winter.
Applications are invited for filling up of Registrar, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant
Professor and Assistant Librarian under the University as tabled below.
Applicants are advised to submit the form well before the end date of applications to avoid the last
minute technical issues which may arise due to network problems etc. No request to extend the
end date will be entertained.
i) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees
on submission of relevant Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority.

ii) Women applicants are fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees.
5. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the
minimum essential qualifications and Academic/Research scores, furnished with clarity, as laid
down in the advertisement.
6. In the event of a candidate possessing more than one degree, the University shall consider the
Degree in the concerned subject only, failing which the degree in the most relevant subject in the
opinion of the University for the purpose of assessment in the Academic/Research Score,
Screening criteria for Assistant Professor etc.
7. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders are eligible for appointment as teaching faculty.
8. Applications should be supported by relevant documents (self certified) in all respects. Claims of
educational qualifications should be supported by Certificates/Mark sheets. Applications not
supported by documents shall be summarily rejected.
9. The crucial date for reckoning possession of educational and other qualifications,possession
of required experience, etc. is the last date of submission of application.
10. Candidate already in service should submit their application through Proper Channel. While an
advance copy may be sent directly, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or duly forwarded
application should be produced at the time of interview. Such candidates are also required to
produce “Integrity Certificate” and “Vigilance Clearance Certificate” at the time of interview, if not
submitted earlier.
11. Any change in the correspondence address, mobile/telephone no. and email address shall be
communicated to the University, in writing.
12. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate, at any time,
at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case of fake documents, clandestine
antecedents or suppression of information, services in the University shall be terminated.
13. a) Candidates applying under any of the reserved category viz. SC/ST/OBC (NCL) will be
considered subject to submission of valid Caste certificate on a prescribed format issued by the
competent authority. The vacancies are being advertised in financial year 2024-25, therefore,
valid NCL-OBC certificate issued on or after 18.06.2023 willbe considered valid. Candidates
applying under OBC category must produce the valid caste certificate in theform as provided
by the DoP&T vide O.M. No. 36036/2/2013-Estt. (Res.) dated 30.05.2014 and further
clarification issued by DoP&T OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res-I) dated 31.03.2016.
Certificate must be valid for employment in Central Government Institutions. OBC candidate’s
eligibility will be based on Castes borne in the Central List of Govt. of India. Their Sub-caste
should also match with the entries in Central List of OBC, failing which their candidature as
OBC candidate will not be considered. They will however be treated as UR candidate. The OBC
certificate should clearly show that the applicant does not belong to the Creamy Layer. The
certificate submitted should be digitally verifiable.
b) The Vacancies advertised under EWS Category are as per the instructions issued by DoPT,
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Govt. of India, vide OM. No. 36039/1/2019-
Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019. Application under EWS category will be considered subject to
submission of Income and Assets certificate on a prescribed format issued by the competent
authority and subject to verification of genuinty of the certificate by the issuing authority. As
per DoP&T OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019. Therefore, a valid EWS
certificate (current Financial Year) will be the one which has been issued by the competent

authority, as prescribed by the GOI/DOPT, on or before the last date of submission of online
application. Candidates who fail to produce valid EWS certificate will not be considered for
reservation under this category. They will however, be considered for UR category. The EWS
candidate must ensure that they have a valid EWS certificate on or before the last date of
submission of application.
c) In case the applicant wants to claim benefits under the PwD category, the applicant’s relevant
disability should not be less than 40%. Proof to this effect in the form of a valid Disability
Certificate must be uploaded with the application.
14. The University reserves the right to consider the application of Professor and Associate
Professor for the lower level of teaching posts and not the post applied by the applicant.
15. The University reserves the right not to fill any of the post(s). There may be an increase or
decrease in the number of posts advertised.
16. Applicants awarded degrees by foreign Universities are required to submit Equivalence Certificate
issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi/UGC. The University reserves the right to
require Equivalence Certificate for various degrees from any of the applicant.
17. Besides other documents related to personal details, academic and work experiences, applicants
are required to upload the following documents:
ii) System generated API Score and Score based on self-assessment (which may not
be same for some applicants) will not be considered as the final score. The final score
shall be as per the assessment of the Screening Committee.
18. The “UGC Approved List of Journals” has been replaced with the new “UGC-CARE Reference List
of Quality Journals” and with effect from 14.06.2019, the same shall be considered prospectively
wherever applicable. Further, research publications on or after 14.06.2019 shall be in the
journals included in the “UGC-CARE Reference List of Quality Journals” wherever applicable.

20. Government of India is striving for gender balance in Government jobs. Women candidates
fulfilling the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
21. The completeness of the submitted application is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
22. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the advertisement and in the process of selection, which may
be detected at any stage, even after issue of appointment, the University reserves the right to
modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
23. On any matters related to the current advertisement and in the subsequent processes of selection,
any decision and/or interpretation of Mizoram University shall be final.
25. Canvassing directly or indirectly at any stages of the recruitment processes will lead to
disqualification.
26. Interview may be conducted in offline or online or blended mode. No TA shall be paid to the
candidates for attending the interview.

28. Experience Certificate: All claims of experience shall be supported by an Experience Certificate
which is clear and complete in all respects.
(a) The experience certificate shall be in proper format i.e., it shall bear the organization’s letter-
head, bear the date of issue, specific period of work, name and designation of issuing
authority along with signature and official seal.
(b) Appointment letter and such other documents issued at the initial stage of
appointment/engagement i.e., before completion of the experience under consideration shall
not be accepted as valid proof of the period of work.
(d) For the purpose of screening criteria for the post of Assistant Professor, the teaching/post-
doctoral/professional experience shall be considered if the
salary/honorarium/remuneration is at least at the rate of Rs 25,000 per month. However,
such experience shall not be counted for Associate Professor and Professor.
(e) Ordinarily, the University will consider only regular/permanent experience at the level of
Assistant Professor/Associate Professor for the post of Associate Professor/Professor. The
University however, reserved the right to consider other kinds of experience which are
evidenced by high quality of publications and/or exceptional contribution to academics and
research.

(f) Post Qualification Experience: The University shall consider ‘Post Qualification Experience’
only wherever experience is prescribed in the minimum qualification.
29. Separate application is required for different posts and different reserved categories (i.e., for post
bearing different post codes).
30. Eligibility as well as relaxation on qualification required shall be as per U.G.C. Regulations on
minimum qualification for appointment of Teachers 2018 and as amended from time to time.

Pachhunga University College: Pachhunga University College is a Constituent College of Mizoram
University. Applications are invited for the following “clear” and “anticipated” vacant teaching posts:
*Lien Vacancy: These are posts vacant due to a teacher who joined other post elsewhere and
retained lien in the post. It will be a clear vacancy only if the lien holder is permanently absorbed in the

PART E: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHING POSTS
1. The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil and/or Ph.D degree shall not be considered as
teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. Further,
the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching
assignment without taking any kind of leave, shall be counted as teaching experience.
2. The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test: SLET/SET)
shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent
positions wherever provided in the UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers
and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of
Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018.
Provided that candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the
University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D
Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the
case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of
NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent
position in the University/College/Institution.
Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the Ph.D programme prior
to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/By-
laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D candidates shall be
exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant
Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions subject to the fulfillment
of the following conditions:-
a) The Ph.D degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode;
b) The Ph.D thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D work, out of which at
least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in
conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any
similar agency.
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs)
of the University concerned.)
3. For appointment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions pertaining to
disciplines in which the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the University Grants
Commission or Council of Scientific and Industrial Research as the case may be, or State level
Eligibility Test (SLET) or the State Eligibility Test (SET) is conducted by bodies accredited by the
UGC for the said purpose, qualifying in NET/SLET/SET shall be an additional requirement.
4. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which
NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like
SLET/SET. Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to
Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective state only.
The “UGC Approved List of Journals” has been replaced with the new “UGC-CARE Reference List of

B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a
ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of
the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE)
or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong
University (Sanghai).

2. Associate Professor:
(ii) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point- scale,
wherever the grading system is followed).
(iv) A total research score of 75 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
3. Professor:
(iii) A total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.(I)(a).
Department of Clinical Psychology: In addition to the minimum qualifications
mentioned at (I) above, the applicant for teaching positions in the Department of
Clinical Psychology shall possess valid Registration Certificate of Rehabilitation
Professional as a Clinical Psychologist issued by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
(I)(b). Department of Botany: For the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Botany,
Postgraduate degree with Ph.D in Botany/Plant Science will be considered.
(ii) Post graduate degree in performing arts/music/dance with minimum 55% marks.

(v) Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the

(ii) A Master’s of Arts Degree in Education with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent
grade in a point- scale, wherever the grading system is followed).
(iv) A total research score of 75 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
(i) Postgraduate degree with minimum 55% marks in the discipline relevant to the
area of specialization.
(ii) Postgraduate degree in Education (M.A. /M.Ed. Education) with minimum 55%
marks.

professional teaching experience as applicable as per UGC norms.

Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the
fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The Ph.D degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode;

M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology/Applied Geology/Geophysics with at least one year diploma
course in Petroleum Geology/Petroleum Technology/Petroleum Exploration.
(ii) A good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Exploration/ Petroleum
Geology/ Petroleum Technology/ Geophysics (in Geophysical Exploration aspects).
(iv) A total research score of 75 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
(IV). Management
1. Assistant Professor (Post Code – LMNGO) (As per AICTE Norms):
(i) Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and Master’s Degree in Business Administration/
PGDM/C. A./ICWA/M. Com with First Class of equivalent and two years of professional
experience after acquiring the Master’s degree.
(i) Ph. D. degree in relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or
Master;s level in the relevant branch
AND
(ii) Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching/research/industry our of which at
least 3 Years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.
AND
(iii) At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI
journals/UGC/ AICTE approved list of journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D guided
as supervisor/ Co-supervisor till the date of eligibility of promotion
OR
(iv) At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI Journals/
UGC/AICTE approved list of journals till the date of eligibility of promotion.
(i) First Class or equivalent in Masters Degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management or
equivalent.
(ii) Ph.D or equivalent, in appropriate discipline. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD
students is highly desirable.

2. Professor (Post Code – PTHMO):
(i) Ph.D. degree in relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor‟s or
Master‟s level in the relevant branch.
(i) A good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Food
Science & Technology.
(ii) A Master‟s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point- scale,
wherever the grading system is followed) in Food Science/Food Technology/Food
Science & Technology.
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an
academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University,
College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven
publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
(iv) A total research score of 75 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
(iii) A total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.
1. Assistant Professor :
(i) First class Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) &

(ii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered

2. Associate Professor:
(i) Ph.D degree in the relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or

3. Professor:
(i) Ph.D. degree in relevant field and First class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or
Master’s level in the relevant branch.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch. And Master’s Degree in
Architecture or in allied subjects of Architecture with minimum 60 per cent marks at either
level, and
Experience:
Eight years experience in teaching/research/professional work out of which a full-time
teaching experience of minimum three years
OR
Thirteen years of professional experience.

For joint supervision of research students, the formula shall be 70% of the total score for Supervisor
and Co-supervisor. Supervisor and Co-supervisor, both shall get 7 marks each.
*For the purpose of calculating research score of the teacher, the combined research score from the
categories of 5(b). Policy Document and 6. Invited lectures/Resource Person/Paper presentation shall
have an upper capping of thirty percent of the total research score of the teacher concerned.
The research score shall be from the minimum of three categories out of six categories.
