REMOVAL
CAUTION:
● When removing accelerator wire, make a mark to indicate lock nut's initial position.
● Do not disassemble accelerator pedal assembly (except accelerator pedal pad); otherwise
pedalling feeling will be deteriorated.
1. Remove engine cover.
2. Loosen lock nut, and remove accelerator cable from throttle
drum.
3. Remove accelerator cable from accelerator pedal.
4. Remove accelerator cable bracket bolts, and pull accelerator
cable into vehicle interior.
5. Remove accelerator pedal bracket nuts, then remove accelera-
tor pedal and bracket assembly.

INSTALLATION
● Install in reverse order of removal procedures, paying extra attention to the items below. A
CAUTION:
● Do not leave scratches, twist or bends on accelerator cable cores.
● Do not apply lubricant to inside accelerator cable. ACC
● Check if accelerator pedal is free from contact with other parts, and releases smoothly.
● For ASCD wire adjustment, refer to ACS-28, "ASCD Wire Adjustment" .

Adjusting Accelerator Wire
1. Loosen lock nut and adjusting nut.
2. Tighten accelerator adjusting nut until throttle drum starts to move. D
3. From that position, turn back adjusting nut 1.5 to 2 turns.
4. Tighten lock nut to specified torque holding adjusting nut.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
● Check if throttle drum opens fully when accelerator pedal is fully depressed to the floor, and operates
smoothly in all process.

● Check if throttle drum returns to idle position when pedal is released.
● Check if the ASCD wire is not pulling the throttle drum.

REMOVAL
1. Remove harness connector.
2. Remove mounting nuts, and remove accelerator pedal assembly.
CAUTION:
● Do not disassemble accelerator pedal assembly. Do not remove accelerator position sensor.
● Avoid impacts such as dropping during removal.
● Be careful to keep assembly away from water.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
INSTALLATION AFTER INSTALLATION
● Conform accelerator pedal moves smoothly throughout full range of its stroke.
● Confirm accelerator pedal securely returns to its original position.
● Inspection accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor. Refer to EC-165, "DTC P0121 ACCELERATOR
PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR" .
