seeing, and Yogic farming with meditation Session
Day 4 Jodhpur Jodhpur
9 Feb After Breakfast, Check out from the Hotel. Proceed to ICAR – CAZRI
Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur Proceed for
half day City sightseeing tour stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, was
founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha. Overnight Stay at Jodhpur
Day 5 Jodhpur
10 Feb After Breakfast, Check out from the Hotel. Proceed for sightseeing tour. Jodhpur
Jodhpur, Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill. Visit
Mandor Garden. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph,
built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant singh II around 1899 and Umaid
Bhawan Palace
(Break fast – Lunch - Dinner)
Day 6 Jaiselmer
11 Feb After Breakfast, Check Out Hotel and proceed to Jaiselmer. Visit the 12th Jaiselmer
century magnificent fort at Jaisalmer (This is the highlight of the
tour).Overnight stay (Break fast – Lunch - Dinner)
Day 7 Jaiselmer
12 Feb After breakfast check out the hotel Also visit the beautifully and Jaiselmer
magnificently carved Havelis of Salim Singh ki Haveli and Patwon ki
Haveli and Gadisar Lake, followed by a visit to the Barabagh Hill and In
Late Afternoon around 4:00pm check in at Camps and Enjoy Camel Ride,
Folk dance, Evening Tea/Coffee with Snacks, Dinner at Camps, Overnight
stay at Camps. (Break fast – Lunch - Dinner)

16 Feb Agriculture Research Institute, Durgapur Jaipur. Shopping in the Jaipur Overnight

As a management student, I am able to prepare this study tour report with co-operate
from our tour incharge. Prof. Omkar Thorat sir who guided us through-out the tour. I sincerely
thanking our co-ordinator teachers and all friends. who perform a hand for preparation of this
study tour report.

To take study tour is part of our EDNT course program. Study tour is quit valuable and
very important aspect to provide students with the practical and wholesome knowledge about
the course as well as what they are learning about."

Introduction

There are total 10 research institutes included on tour schedule which I mentioned in
next in this report A study tour from 6 february to 17 february 2024 was organized by College
of Agriculture Business Management ,Narayangaon , Pune under the course EDNT -361 . There
are total 69 participants along with 4 teacher staff including our principal Dr. Milind Bhujbal
Sir , our tour incharge Prof. Omkar Thorat Sir , and assistant professors Mr. Khade Sir, Mr.
Siddhesh Jori Sir, Mrs. Shilpa Nalawade Mam . The tour was beautifully planned and was
combination of meditation, spirituality, research, history and science ..

Objectives

1. To identify progress made in various agriculture and allied fields .


2. To know what actual scope of agriculture and allied sector .
3. To gain practical research knowledge and widen the horizons of agriculture .
4. To devolope team spirit among participants .
5. To be able to adapt various odd situations.
6. To be able to manage unforeseen crisis .
SUSTAINABLE YOGIC FARMING PROGRAM , TAPOVAN MOUNT ABU , RAJASTHAN

The Agriculture and Rural Devolopment wing of Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation ,
the sister education of Prajapita Bramhakumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya , has been
bringing awareness about sustainable yogic agriculture project among the farmers , brothers
and sisters .

OBJECTIVES :

1 To bring good nutritional values


2 To maximize productivity
3 To minimize expenditure
4 To reduce health hazards
5 To Utilize and Decompose Waste materials and Residues Efficiently and
Effectively

KNOLEDGE GAIN :

About sustainable , organic yogic farming with the help of Rajyoga meditation to
improve both productivity and efficiency of agriculture .

EXPERIENCE GAIN :

Practical knowledge of sustainable farming , organic fertilizer use in regular


agriculture practices .

CONCLISION:

By applying meditation as well as organic fertilizers and techniques , farm


products their nutritional values and efficiency also increases .
PRAJAPITA BRAHMAKUMARIS VISHWA VIDYALAYA , MOUNT ABU , RAJASTHAN

It is international socio-spiritual education institution dedicated to personal


transformation and world renewal , founded in1937 . The Brhma Kumaris spread
over 4000 study centers in India and 140 other countries . The headquarter is in
Mount Abu , Rajasthan .
OBJECTIVES:
1. To promote scientific temper and spiritual vision .
2. To impact education in moral , cultural amnd spiritual values .
3. To establish , conduct and run spiritual education institutions .

KNOWLEDGE GAIN : About Universal Peace , Importance of meditation as well as


spirituality .

EXPERIENCE GAIN : Holistic health , stress free living , Spiritual meditation,


environmental sustainability , youth empowerment

CONCLUSION : A combination of spiritual world with scientific world.


ICAR – CAZRI Central Arid Zone Research Institute , Jodhpur

An autonomous organization working under aegis of Department of Agriculture Research and


Education ( DARE ) of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of Government of india .
CAZRI has distinction of being one of the first institute in the world exclusively devoted to arid
zone research and development established in 1959 .

OBJECTIVES :

1. Basic and applied research on sustainable farming .


2. Repository of information on state of natural resources and diversification process .
3. Livestock based farming system .
4. Transfer of location specific technologies and infrastructures.

KNOWLEDGE GAIN :

About the cropping system , cropping patterns , plantation period of the arid zonal
plants

CONCLUSION :

Effective water management systems with various innovative research on plants as well
as on soil will help to sustain the plants within the arid zone temperature range .
CIAH Central Institute for Arid Horticulture , Bikaner

The CIAH was established in the year 2000 . It aims to achieve basic and applied research to
enhance sustainable productivity , quality and utilization of horticultural crops of arid and
semi arid regions .

OBJECTIVES :

1. Repository of genetic resources and scientific information on horticultural crops of arid


and semi arid regions .
2. Transfer of technology , capacity building and impact assessment of technologies .
3. Coordinate research and validation of technologies on fruit crops of arid and semi arid
regions .

KNOWLEDGE GAIN :

The main crop in the arid and semi arid regions of rajasthan is widely Ber . Besides Ber
there are so many varieties of crops like ridge guard , longmelon , aonla , bael , jamun ,
pomegranate , tamarind , chironji , khirni , mulberry , mahua , phalsa , wood apple , etc . have
been researched widely to increase the efficiency as well as productivity of the crops of arid
and semi arid regions of rajasthan .

CONCLUSION :

The CIAH is one of the horticulture institute of Bikaner engaging in research and
development of new sustainable and resistance varieties of crops of arid and semi arid regions
of rajasthan .
ICAR - NRCC National Research Centre on Camel , Bikaner

The camel is important animal component of fragile desert eco-system . With the big
physiological characters , the camel has become an icon of adaption to challenging ways of
living in arid and semi arid regions . The camel has played significant role in civil law and order
, defence and battles from ancient times till date . Considering the importance of camel in socio
economic development of arid and semi arid regions , the Government of India established a
project directorate on camel at Bikaner on 5th July 1984 under aegis of ICAR which was
upgraded to NRCC on 20th September 1995 .

OBJECTIVES :

1. To carryout research for improving reproductive performance of camel .


2. To carry out base line survey of camel genetic resources in India .
3. To collaborate with national and international resources .
4. To carryout research on milk production potential in camel
5. To carryout research on draught ability .
6. To carry out basic and applied research on camel production to carry out base line
survey of camel genetic resource .

KNOWLEDGE GAIN :

Research and developmental activities related to genetics and physiological characters


of camels used in socio economic environment around us especially in arid and semi arid
regions .

CONCLUSION :
The basic and applied research on camel by considering the need of camel in socio-
economic environment is carried out .

BIKAJI FOOD INTERNATIONAL LIMITED ( Industrial visit ) , BIKANER

Bikaji foods international ltd. aspired to be amongst the global leaders in the segment of
snacks and savouries as well as to develop new products for the total satisfaction of consumers.
There are wide range of products made by BIKAJI which included in the following :

Objectives:

1. To examine the marketing and branding strategies utilized by Bikaji to promote its
products.
2. To gain insights into the quality control measures and food safety standards adhered to
by the company.
3. To understand the operations and management practices of a leading food industry
company.
4. To analyze the supply chain management strategies employed by Bikaji Food Industry.

Knowledge Gained

The visit to Bikaji Food Industry yielded valuable insights across key domains of the food
industry. From understanding supply chain intricacies such as sourcing and distribution, to
delving into quality control measures ensuring product safety and consistency, the experience
underscored operational excellence essentials.

Conclusion

It emphasized the critical role of efficiency, innovation, and adherence to quality standards in
operational success.The visit to Bikaji Food Industry provided invaluable insights across
supply chain management, quality control, marketing, production processes, and market
analysis.

IABM - INSTITUTE OF AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT , BIKANER

Transformation of agriculture into business activity has created a demand for professional
management and use of modern technologies in areas such as specialized production , post-
harvest management , promotion of value added agri products , supply chain management ,
marketing , etc so as to position these comparatively both in the domestic as well as in
international market . IABM was established in 2000 .

ICAR – NRCSS National Research Centre for Seed and Spices , Ajmer

The NRCSS is an apex centre under the aegis of ICAR working on improvement of seed spices
and the betterment of their stakeholders thinking about the truth that its inspection . The
NRCSS mandates to conduct easy and strategic research to enhance production and
productivity and notably offered spices with the precise reference to export and domestic
demand , to install relevant institutional linkages nationally and internationally offer
consultancy and training and serve as a national repository of seed spices .

OBJECTIVBES :

1. To monitor the adoption of new and existing technologies to make sure that research is
targeted to the needs of farming community .
2. To established relevant institutional linkages nationally and internationally .
3. To serve as national repository of seed spices germplasm , relevant information and
establishing global gene bank for seed spices .
4. To conduct the basic and strategic research to enhance a production , productivity ,
quality of seed spices .

NIAM – National Institute of Agriculture Marketing , Jaipur

The NIAM is the premier national level institute set up by the Government of India in August
1988 to offer specialized training , research , education and consultancy in the field of
agriculture marketing . NIAM is playing vital role in expediting the reform process and
availability of quality managers through its mandate .

OBJECTIVES ;

1. NIAM is engaged in organizing training programmes in the field of agricultural


marketing and allied areas for senior and middle level officers from various line
departments of state governments , cooperatives , marketing boards , and agribusiness
entrepreneurs .
2. The institute is also playing an active role in orienting agricultural extension personnel
towards agricultural marketing .
RARI – Rajasthan Agriculture Research Institute , Durgapura , Jaipur

The mission of the institute is to conduct research and extension activities enhancing
productivity , profitability and sustainability of agricultural production systems . To improve
the quality of the rural livelihood in the country in general and state of Rajasthan in particular .

The lead functions includes : Development of varieties and technologies for irrigated wheat,
barley , chickpea ,lentil, pea , pearl millet , groundnut , cluster bean and vegetables ; cropping
system research , INM including organic farming and nutrient recycling , micronutrient
research , white grub management ,pesticide residue research , biological pest control , seed
technology research , nematode management in cereals and pulses and post- harvest
technology are the lead functions .

The verification functions : Irrigated rapeseed , pigeon pea , management of salt affected soils
and water , in -situ moisture conservation , testing and modification of farm implements , water
management , forage crops , integrated pest management .
