Kriya Yoga Techniques
Kriya yoga is an ancient meditation practice for Self-Realization found in India since time
immemorial. Kriya yoga is a science and worship of Life force(Prana). Kriya yoga is the
technique to balance the exhalation, and the inhalation; this is the technique of suspension of
breath(pranayama). With kriya yoga practice our internal organs like mind will be pure, our
concentration will increase, the intellect will be sharp and the discrimination capacity will
develop.
By practicing the kriya yoga techniques the practitioner reaches the “No thought (Turiya
awastha)” state when the outer breath becomes slow or may even be suspended and one remains
only with inner subtle life force. Achieving again and again such a “No thought” state one
becomes specialized in it which results in Self-Realization (Savikalp Samadhi). This means the
intellect of the practitioner now holds the truth by experience. One is then established in
Kaivalyam, the One and Only (God Realization, Nirvikalpa samadhi). In oneness, there is
experience of eternal bliss of self and there is no ego; one is in the Ocean of Consciousness.
Kriya yoga is reintroduced by Mahavatar Kriya Babaji to Lahiri Mahasaya and subsequesnt
work of Paramhamsa Yogananda in the western world. The Kriya Yoga Meditation
Practices thought here by Sivapremanandaji are very ancient yogic techniques & received
from Kriya babaji. If practiced regularly with devotion and concentration, these Kriya yoga
practices act as a powerful magnet that will draw you into Realization of the Self; that spark of
the divine which dwells within each of you. You are that which you seek. The true Church or
Temple of divine is within. It is there that the true Alter of God is found. It is beyond the outer
trappings of all religions. They are but dim reflections of the Sound and Light and Bliss to be
found within you.
The practice of Kriya Yoga not only helps spiritually but also balances the glandular system,
strengthens the nervous system, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the
emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and
feelings. This Kriya yoga meditation practice combines mantra, mudras and postures in a precise,
conscious manner to affect body, mind, and soul.
Kriya Yoga can be practiced by householders who have to cope with the daily challenges and
stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. Kriya Yoga is for everyone
who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of living in this day and age.
