The most important friendship I ever had was with Diego Fernandez, I
consider our history of friends as tragic because today we are not friends
and I will tell you why.
I remember that when I was 8 years old, I attended a school where I did
not have many friends but I met who would be my best friend for a long
time, Diego. I remember the first time we talked, I used to eat alone at
recess but this day he asked me if he could eat with me. I said yes and
from that day on we used to sit together in class and talk all day, do
homework together, visit each other and help each other when we had
any difficulties. I managed to meet his parents and thanks to our
friendship we were able to be friends for much longer, around 7 years of
friendship passed when an event occurred that reinforced our friendship.
Once, in the school holidays we decided to have a game day but we didn't
know where, so we decided to play at my house, that day something
happened that would mark us for life, I remember that we would meet in
the park near my house at sunset, everything went normally until we got
to my house, I remember To get to my room we had to climb some spiral
stairs, I went up in a familiar way but Diego tried to do the same but he
had an accident and ended up falling down the stairs.
I remember that the incident occurred in the last year of my high school,
the year had begun and there were new teachers, I did not know that an
event would occur in the art course that would change my life completely.
The year had begun and as usual for me, I entered the designated room
and greeted my classmates from last year and looked for a place where
our first class would be from the art course where the teacher was
teaching us to play musical instruments I did not pay attention and I
decided to play with my classmates, when the class finished the teacher
used to leave homework daily, i never used to do the homework he left
because i considered that the art course was not important like math or
science but it would be my surprise what happened afterwards .
I remember that I was going to finish the term and I had postponed many
of the tasks that the teacher had left and my calculations were not
favorable to pass the course but I was confident because I still had to take
the exam. That was my strategy, not to do the homework but to get an
excellent grade in the exams, my surprise would be when I observed that
the exam was not going to have as much value as the homework, which by
doing a calculation I would fail the course.
