Unit 1. Activity 3. Geopolitics and Trade
- Which countries does Mexico hold trade with and which products are
commercialized between them?
Currently, our country Mexico has 1,270 treaties in force, of which 653 are bilateral, 617
are multilateral and of them 14 are trade treaties that cover 50 countries, which allows
you to have access to the best markets around the world, gradually eliminating the
commercial barriers of products and services.
It has the most important trade agreements with the neighboring countries of the United
States and Canada with the Free Trade Agreement (T-MEC: United States – México –
Canada Agreement), mainly marketing machines for data processing, passenger cars,
vehicles for transporting goods, parts and accessories. of vehicles and televisions, as
well as petroleum oils except crude, petroleum gas, gaseous hydrocarbons, parts and
accessories for vehicles, diesel engines, corn.
Another important treaty of our country is with the European Union (TLCs: Free Trade
Agreement with México and the European Union) seeks to promote commercial relations
between both blocks and sells electronic goods, oil, gas, coal, machinery, mechanical
accessories, among others.
- How important are political conditions for each of these countries when it
comes to trade?
Although there are many free trade agreements between many regions of the world,
there are political conditions that certain countries may apply for the marketing of certain
products. We call these restrictions Tariffs and these are applied to goods for the purpose
of export and import; These duties applied to goods produced in a certain country.

Unit 1. Activity 4. Social Conventionalism in the International Busi-
ness
On this occasion we will talk about cross-cultural business, and we can refer to this topic
as the efficiency of communication as a greater impact on the results of cross-cultural
negotiations.
It is important to analyze the quality of communication since this will allow a better quality
of negotiation, obtaining benefits to manage cultural barriers, examples of these may be
television programs, personal experiences, books, movies, etc.
On some occasion in our professional life we will have the need to interact or generate
business with other people from different areas where there are different language
speakers, different cultural and social environments that in many cases these aspects
can influence in favor or against closing said business. . . talks.
Around the world we find a great difference in cultures, some that are a little more
complex because they have to take different points to be successful:
The communication style used in different cultures, since all the information in the
dialogue is found in the words used, so it is important to understand what is meant and
respond in the best way. Negotiation style In some cultures it is believed that you win or
lose while in others it is considered an opportunity to win and execute negotiation
strategies. Relationships, value trust between people. Socialize, when we want to close
businesses in other areas there are cultures and ways of life involved, we have to take
10
care of the way we dress, sit, greet, dine, etc. Perception of time dictates what we must
do, prioritizing, planning, scheduling and implementing how time is perceived in the place
where we are. Decisions, in some cultures decisions are made based on rules,
processes, systems, and this influences the degree to which what is agreed upon with
people is expected. Authority is estimated based on age, gender, ethnicity, tribe, or
relationship with the people in the negotiation. Cultural responsibility, people can think,
behave and perceive the world very differently than their own reaction to circumstances.
Effort, shows true curiosity and interest in understanding cultural situations. Humility,
respect and understand the identity and way of life of others.
With this series of steps we will surely be successful in any negotiation where we have
to interact with other ways of life and cultures.
CONCLUSIONS
International business is not only carried out in our country, but most of the time in other
areas where borders but also cultures have to be crossed, these come to have influence
so that people change their way of communicating, behaving and even the way of
thinking, which is why negotiations can be affected if we do not find a way to handle
them, perhaps we will have to learn a new language, or adjust to the way of thinking and
speaking of others. The great diversity of cultures in the world may be impossible for any
negotiator but only his skill and experience will lead him to success.

Unit 3. Activity 12. STAGES OF WORK MEETINGS
Work meetings are an essential aspect of any organization. They provide a platform for
communication, collaboration and decision making. However, not all meetings are
effective and some can even be considered a waste of time. This essay explores the
relevance and effectiveness of business meetings, highlighting the factors that contribute
to their success and the challenges that may hinder their effectiveness.
Business meetings are essential to provide a forum to clarify goals and objectives.
Meetings allow team members to discuss the organization's goals and how each
individual's role contributes to achieving those goals. By clarifying goals and objectives,
meetings ensure that everyone is on the same page and working toward a common
purpose. Meetings also provide a platform for communicating progress and updates.
They allow team members to share information about their progress, discuss challenges,
and identify solutions. This communication helps ensure that everyone is aware of what
is happening within the organization and can help address any issues that may arise.
Additionally, meetings are essential to identify challenges and solutions. They provide
an opportunity for team members to discuss the challenges they face and propose
solutions. This discussion ensures that everyone is aware of the challenges and can
contribute to finding solutions that benefit the organization.
To ensure meetings are effective, several factors must be considered. One of the critical
factors is having a clear agenda and purpose. A clear agenda ensures that the meeting
stays on track and all necessary topics are covered. A purpose ensures that the meeting
is focused and that everyone in attendance understands why they are there. Preparation
and participation of attendees are also essential to ensure that meetings are effective.
Attendees should come prepared with relevant information and be willing to participate
in the discussion. This preparation ensures that the meeting is productive and that
decisions can be made efficiently. Effective communication and listening skills are also
essential to ensure that meetings are effective. Attendees must be able to communicate
their ideas clearly, actively listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Effective
communication and listening skills ensure that everyone is heard and decisions are
made based on the best ideas.
26
Despite the importance of business meetings, several challenges can hinder their
effectiveness. One of the important challenges is the over-reliance on meetings as a
solution. Meetings should not be the only solution to address organizational challenges.
Other solutions should also be considered, such as email, phone calls, or online
collaboration tools. Lack of preparation and organization is another challenge that can
hinder the effectiveness of meetings. When attendees are not prepared, the meeting can
become unproductive and decisions may not be made efficiently. Lack of organization
can also lead to a disorganized meeting, causing attendees to lose focus and disengage.
Finally, the dominance of certain individuals or groups can also hinder the effectiveness
of meetings. When certain individuals dominate the discussion, others may feel
marginalized and their ideas may not be heard. This dominance can also lead to
decisions being made based on personal biases rather than the best ideas.
Business meetings are a crucial part of any organization's operations. They provide a
platform for decision making, problem solving, and collaboration among team members.
Planning, organizing and closing business meetings are three essential steps that
ensure the success of the meeting. In this essay, we will discuss each of these steps in
detail, including their key points and examples.
The first step in planning a successful business meeting is to identify the purpose and
objectives of the meeting. This involves determining what needs to be discussed and
accomplished during the meeting. For example, if the purpose of the meeting is to
introduce a new product, the objectives may include discussing the product's features,
benefits, and pricing strategy. Once the purpose and objectives are clear, the next step
is to determine attendees and select a suitable venue.

Unit 3. Activity 12. STAGES OF WORK MEETINGS
The debate is an oral discourse that can be classified as a type of structured
conversation. Its objective is to confront two or more opinions about a certain
controversial topic, or to less, debatable from various points of view.
Assertiveness is governed by certain principles that must be applied with resistance and
solidity to reinforce our communication strengths when sharing with others.
CONCLUSIONS
A debate is an organized contrast of ideas and points of view between two or more
people, at the end of which they must reach some kind of agreement or intermediate
point, thanks to the organized and peaceful presentation of their arguments. The debates
are generally oral, although they can also take place in writing through appropriate
communication platforms, as long as they form a structured conversation.

Unit 4. Activity 16. Selected Management Topics in Business
RECRUITMENT
Recruitment is the first step to attract new talent to a vacancy within a company, so you
must know the importance of establishing a defined and efficient process that helps se-
lect the best applicants in accordance with the policies and requirements of the company.
1. You create a brand since candidates can investigate the company's processes, sala-
ries, practices, so a clear and ethical process will be successful in the selection.
2. Reduction of staff turnover by selecting ideal candidates who have the appropriate
skills and personality, reducing turnover and increasing efficiency.
3. Fast processes with strategies designed to quickly fill jobs.
30
a) Contrast objectives ensuring that the candidate matches the characteristics of the
position.
b) Do not act against the clock by developing specific questions and going deeper
in order to obtain as much information as possible about your experience, per-
sonality, values and interests.
c) Test them with problem-solving activities in everyday company environments.
d) Make the expectations of the position clear.
1. HIRING OF PERSONNEL
The hiring of personnel includes the last phase of recruitment and selection, it consists
of the formalization of the entry of the candidate as a new worker. Therefore, this stage
is where all the legal documentation must be done and the candidate must read the legal
settings and decide whether to sign the contract.
But it is not only important to take into account the legal aspects, there are also other
factors such as the negotiation of the employment contract itself. In this way, an agree-
ment can be reached that benefits both the employee and the employer.
In addition, it is important that the candidate complies with the selection rules and has
successfully completed all the stages that comprise it. In this way, the recruiter can de-
termine if the professional profile adapts to that required by the company. Staffing is a
crucial phase that includes estimating staffing needs, preparing a work model, selecting
professionals, and creating a talent pool. A fundamental part of the hiring process is
defining the right requirements for candidates. The documented basis for the develop-
ment of these requirements is the job description and professional organization chart.
31
The process of recruitment in Mexican companies involves several key aspects that con-
tribute to the overall success and growth of the organization. This includes understand-
ing the local labor market dynamics, cultural nuances, and legal requirements related to
hiring practices.
Mexican companies typically prioritize a thorough recruitment process that involves iden-
tifying specific skills and qualifications required for each position. This often includes
conducting interviews, skills assessments, and background checks to ensure the suita-
bility of candidates. Additionally, companies in Mexico may also focus on diversity and
inclusion initiatives in their recruitment efforts, aiming to create a workforce that reflects
the diverse population of the country.
Mexican labor laws govern recruitment practices. Companies must adhere to regulations
related to employment contracts, working hours, benefits, and termination procedures.
Registration of the “Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social” (IMSS) is mandatory for em-
ployees, ensuring access to healthcare and social security benefits. Overall, recruitment
in Mexican companies is a strategic process that aligns with the company's goals and
values while complying with local regulations and fostering a diverse and talented work-
force.
CONCLUSION
32
Selecting personnel is a filter to allow organizations to enter only some people, and these
are the ones who cover the previously established requirements that allow protecting the
intellectual capital of the organization because it is necessary to be able to evaluate the
behavior of each individual because each person has different variants of thought.
It is considered as an investment for the company, and despite this the main objective is
that, when choosing personnel highly trained will allow the return of this investment as
soon as possible, it also brings I get more benefits for the company in different levels
such as the social, material and financial, since the workforce allows the company to
fulfill its functions properly.
Selecting personnel today goes further simply to find the ideal candidate to fill the posi-
tion vacant, if not, in addition, manage to obtain a personnel willing to be promoted by
the developer to demonstrate their capabilities to the maximum and thus commit them-
selves to the company.
Being able to select personnel to cover the existing vacancies is a process that must be
thorough, orderly and planned so that the best candidate can be chosen, capable of
covering the needs of the vacant position in the organization.
One of the keys to the success of any company is having the right personnel, at the right
time and with sufficient motivation to be able to perform their function in the best possible
way. Given the importance of the human factor, a poor recruitment process, selection
and socialization will make it very difficult to meet strategic objectives, leading to loss of
profitability, a bad work environment, a lower productivity or lack of involvement.
