INTRODUCTION
The Angkor Temples, located in the Siem Reap
region of Cambodia, are an impressive testimony
to the architecture and culture of the Khmer
civilization. These temples, built between the 9th
and 15th centuries, are a symbol of the history and
sophisticated civilization that emerged in the
region.
HISTORY
The construction of the Angkor Temples took
place during the rise of the Khmer Empire, led by
visionary monarchs such as Suryavarman II and
Jayavarman VII. Angkor Wat, the most iconic
temple, was built in the 12th century as a
monument dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu.
Other prominent temples include Bayon, known
for its mysterious faces carved into the towers, and
Ta Prohm, famous for being wrapped in tree roots.

The architecture of the Angkor Temples reflects the
unique fusion of Hindu and Buddhist architectural styles.
