Title: Invasive Species in Canada

Overview: In this assignment, you and your partner will research an invasive species in Canada and present your
findings in a poster presentation. You will need to research the impact the invasive species has had on biodiversity,
habitat, the economy, and humanity. The presentation will be done in pairs, with each group standing at their desks
and presenting their poster to the class.

Instructions:

Choose an invasive species in Canada that you would like to research. You can use resources such as government
websites, academic articles, and news articles to find information.

Research the impact the invasive species has had on biodiversity, habitat, the economy, and humanity. Some
questions you might want to consider include:

 How has the invasive species affected the native species in the area?

 What changes have occurred in the habitat as a result of the invasive species?

 How has the invasive species affected the economy in the area?

 Have there been any human health impacts related to the invasive species?

Create a poster presentation that summarizes your findings. Your poster should include:

 A clear title

 An introduction that explains what the invasive species is and why it is a problem

 Information about the impact on biodiversity, habitat, the economy, and humanity

 Visuals such as pictures, graphs, or maps to help illustrate your points

 A conclusion that summarizes your findings and emphasizes the importance of addressing invasive species
in Canada

Practice your presentation with your partner so that you are both comfortable speaking about your poster. You
should be prepared to answer questions from your classmates and teacher.

Present your poster to the class. Each group will have 5-10 minutes to present, and there will be time for questions
and discussion after each presentation.
