(d) Diagram 5.3 shows the seashore of a fishing village. During the rainy season the
size of waves is big. There was a year when waves eroded the seashore, causing
the jetty to collapse and it damaging the fishermen’s boats.

9 Diagram 9.1 shows a cross sectional structure of a hydraulic jack used to raise a load.
A pushing force of 100 N is exerted on the piston R and able to raise a load of weight 500 N
on piston S
