The Pleated Miniskirt FREE Sewing Pattern comes with 11

different sizes, with a customizable length. It has been drafted
to have 8 knife pleats in the front and 8 knife pleats in the back.
The full video tutorial also shows how to transform your
pattern to make it have 4 bigger box pleats at the front and 4
bigger box pleats at the back, making it customizable.

Materials
Fabric: for the pleats to stay in place, you will need fabric
that holds the shape after ironing. I made mine with 100%
cotton fabric, but different fabrics are able to hold the shape.
It's a matter of ironing it (according to the manufacturer's
instructions) and seeing if it works.

Pattern Layout
The pattern comes in 2 different formats: A4 or US Letter. It
will come with separate files for each size. This way there are less
lines when printing, which I believe makes it less confusing when
cutting each piece, and also uses less ink if you intend to print it
at home.

In case you choose to print it at home: at the bottom of each

page you will find a ruler in cm and two numbers separated by a
comma. The first number corresponds to the row that sheet
belongs to and the second number corresponds to the column.
When connecting the sheets together, the numbers should follow
a sequence as shown below:

 Pattern Pieces Guide
To assemble the pattern, you should glue the pieces together
using either tape or glue. Every sheet comes with a line indicating
where to be connected. After assembling all pages together, cut
each pattern piece. You should end with one of each piece shown
below:

 Pattern Pieces Guide
You will need to cut:
Four Waistbands
Two Pleats.
The length of the skirt depends on how long you want
your skirt to be. The pattern has two suggested lengths,
one being 5 cm longer than the other, with hem
allowance of 1 cm (3/8 inch). If you’re taller, cut the
pattern following the longest line. If it’s too long on you,
you can just trim it afterwards or do a thicker hem.

Preparing and cutting

your fabric
Some fabrics are prone to shrinking once they are washed. To
prevent any problems, wash, dry and iron your fabric (following
the manufacturer’s instructions) before cutting the pattern pieces.
