    MegaAdd SRA
    Shrinkage Reducing Admixture

    DESCRIPTION MegaAdd SRA is a ready to use powder admixture used for shrinkage reduction in
    Portland cement concrete. MegaAdd SRA has composition of Type G, which produces
    a calcium hydroxide platelet crystal system based on calcium aluminate/ calcium
    hydroxide, as specified in ACI 223.
    Surface tension of capillary pore water has been linked to formation of a meniscus during
    hydration, which accounts, at least partially for shrinkage. The materials in MegaAdd SRA
    are designed to facilitate reduction in the capillary surface tension of pore water.

    USES MegaAdd SRA can be used in all types of concrete and mortars, whether cast-in-place,
    mass, precast or prestressed. The material can be used in straight Portland cement
    mixes or blended cement mixes. Typical applications include bridge decks, parking
    structures, dams, runways, stadiums, flooring applications, decorative concrete, and
    masonry or tile grouts and mortars.
    The material also is effective for use with shotcrete mixes.

    ADVANTAGES • Expansion process is not through ettringite formation

    COMPATIBILITY With Cement: MegaAdd SRA is suitable for use with all types of cement and
    cementitious materials.
    With Other Admixtures: MegaAdd SRA is compatible to use with all types of water
    reducing plasticisers, naphthalene based superplasticisers and poly carboxylate based
    superplasticisers.

    MegaAdd SRA

    DOSAGE The normal dosage of MegaAdd SRA is 2.5 – 5 % by weight of cementitious materials.
    Site trials should be carried out to establish the optimum dosage for the mix to be used
    and method of placement.
    For best results, use MegaAdd SRA in concrete with the W/C (water to cement ratio)
    lower than 0.55.
    How to Add : Should be added to the mix as a powder, just like cement or pozzolans. Do
    not pre-dissolve or mix as a slurry in water before adding. MegaAdd SRA should be
    added to the mix before other admixtures or water. Allow sufficient time for mixing
    (minimum 60 seconds) to ensure even distribution of product in the mix.

    EFFECT OF OVER DOSING An overdose of double the recommended amount of MegaAdd SRA will result in slight
    retardation of set time and decreases shrinkage cracking.

    PACK SIZE 10 kg and 20 kg bag

    NOTE To prevent drying shrinkage, ensure that proper curing is provided when placing
    concrete. MegaAdd SRA is not designed to compensate for improper / inadequate
    curing procedures.

    GENERAL INFORMATION Shelf Life 12 months from date of manufacture when stored under
    warehouse conditions in original unopened packing.
    Extreme temperature / humidity may reduce shelf life.
    Cleaning Clean all equipments and tools with water immediately after
    use.

    HEALTH and SAFETY PPE’s Gloves, goggles and suitable mask must be worn.
    Precautions Contact with skin, eyes, etc. must be avoided.
    Hazard Regarded as non-hazardous for transportation.
    Disposal Do not reuse bags. To be disposed off as per local rules and
    regulations.
