END OF COURSE REFLECTION PAPER

Guide Questions Response/s

What were your main There were two major activities during the entire course. It is
activities during the composed of synchronous and asynchronous activities. Weeks 1 and 2
course? were devoted to synchronous classes for Module 11. Our schedule was
March 05 and March 12. Weeks 3 and 4 March 14-27 we don’t have
synchronous sessions. Our synchronous class for Module 12 was on
weeks 5 and 6 while module 13 was on weeks 9 and 10.

During our synchronous classes, we have two types of platforms.

One is via zoom link and the other one is through chat in
https://iflex3.innotech.org/. In zoom, we were allowed to speak and
chat. I find this very interactive because we can see our classmate’s
faces so much like what we are doing in the actual face-to-face classes.
In the chat room of https://iflex3.innotech.org/ we cannot see our
classmates, but it is like using the messenger.

Just like a regular class, our main activities involved sharing of ideas.
Communicating our insights on the topic and listening to the inputs
from our FLT and through the real experiences of our classmates.

Moreover, the learning does not end in our synchronous lessons,

but the real learning is in the application of every module. During the
asynchronous activity, there is a real adventure happening. It’s a
realistic experience. The main example is on the week of clinical
supervision, the major activity is on the actual conduct of clinical
supervision considering that we are using distance learning modality
specifically, on print self-learning modules. It was the most challenging
episode of learning.
How relevant and As a novice school head who is a work in progress, this course
applicable are the course is very relevant. It is very timely. Starting from the developmental
contents in your role as supervision, I am really enlightened on Glickman’s paradigm of teacher
an instructional categories. It made me mindful of what my teachers need not just my
supervisor needs. Analyzing the level of commitment and abstraction of my
teachers will pave the way for better delivery of the teaching-learning
process. I am amazed that clinical supervision has 5 steps. I just know
it and it is very important to reflect on the instructional supervision. As
a cycle, I realized that for the teachers to attain improved instructional
competence, it should not end after the post-observation conference.
It is a continuous process. As a newbie school leader, this course shapes
my leadership journey towards an improved level of instructional
competence in my teachers and in effect an improved academic
performance of our learners.
What challenges or Going through this endeavor takes so much time, energy,
difficulties did you effort, and patience. I need to press on because I have people
experience during the under my watch who are my partners, my teammates. We need
course? to work hand in hand because they are the best resources the
school has. We need to sustain a culture of efficiency, excellence,
and growth to achieve the desired end.
As to the internet, sometimes, I had difficulty with my
connection. One of the toughest battles that I had encountered
is the actual implementation of what I had learned during the
course with the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. I
had to come up with a better alternative. This happened when I
implemented the clinical supervision.

The major challenge I encountered is the submission of

my written requirements. Much to my desire, I was not able to
submit my assignment on time. Proper time management failed
me. In my mind, I wanted to encode, scanned, and upload
documents for my requirements but I got mixed up my
opportunities and responsibilities to the extent of being burned
out. Anxiety and overthinking overtook my smooth journey.
What were your learning This experience has been so worthwhile. I am grateful
insights from the course? that I am among those who took this road no matter how
saturating the days have been. Had I not taken the courage and
rallied with my classmates, I would not have expanded and
deepened my insights and knowledge in these areas of my job.
The steps I have trodden were not easy. There is no room for
mediocrity in this kind of work. I need to continuously engage in
professional improvement pursuit to convey a message that
learning does not end. The lessons I gained are worth the
busyness I had to manage, structure, and arrange to accomplish
the goals.
I really need to know my colleagues are among the best
insights I learned. Valuing my human resources means being
gentle in providing feedback and being generous with praises. I
need to listen, understand, reflect, and provide reminders
according to the size of my heart. I will offer help according to
their needs. Avoiding bias and prejudice means being fair to
everyone.

We all like to perform well, we all like to have a good

reputation for being punctual but I felt a total failure in the
submission of the requirements. Lesson learned? I don’t need to
include many things in my schedule that I felt like a confused
mess because I am going nonstop from one commitment to
another.

As a leader, I need to get a clear picture of my role and goal. I

had to take responsibility for my behavior and let others take
responsibility for theirs. Building a positive relationship with my
staff. The staff needs to know that I care before they care about
what I l know. Modeling what I value is a plus factor. As a leader
my actions should mirror my words. I had to take advantage of
the teachable moments that present themselves. This makes my
leadership relevant and less abstract. Just as a facilitating teacher
does, I too need to be facilitative, praising works best. Smile even
if the burden is unbearable and be surprised of its effect.

What areas related to 21st Century Leadership as a multidimensional and

21st Century Instructional integrative view of leadership, I still need to improve my
Leadership do you still ground base in terms of relationships. As a 21st Century
need to improve on and Leader, I still need to be oriented toward being inclusive,
why? collaborative, and of service, to individuals, the social good,
and ecological sustainability. I still need to improve my
leadership style which incorporates a full spectrum of values
and fosters a wide range of capacities, competencies, and
skills, which are enacted in the various spheres of life in
context-specific ways.

I wanted to learn, unlearn and relearn. I still wanted to use

opportunities and possibilities of the 21 st Century Instructional
Leadership. Seth Godin says, “If you’re not doing the things
that scare you, you’re not really learning”. I still desire to
attend workshops and conferences to learn from great 21 st
Century leaders. I still want to improve my entrepreneurial,
creative and innovative skills. I wanted to nourish my ability
to think outside the box. Creativity and innovations are great
ways to manage the disruptions and complexities of the 21 st
century. I also wanted to develop in me the ability to inspire
others. I wanted to motivate my team through my speeches,
addressing teachers, students, and parents. I hope to create
enthusiasm and optimism in working together.
What can you say about Just WOW. Wonderful Outstanding Worthwhile. And I need to be
your overall experience WOW too. Working Onsite Willingly.
(comment on chat, The chat has been so much fun. In a way, I find myself amused after
forum, course reading my answers back. Perhaps due to internet connectivity, my
requirements, FLT answers no longer align with the questions. In the forum, I started
competency, and the having not correctly followed the thread on how my reaction paper will
online modality? be submitted. In terms of the requirement, due to the pressing issue of
no face-to-face classes, I find it difficult to implement. The course
requirements have been the most neglected also. I did not follow the
time frame of complying with the paper works that I was not able to
submit on time.

FLT means double F double L double T, Fairly Fabulous Lightheartedly

Likeable Tactfully Tolerant. As to the FLT’s competence, it is no doubt
highly competent. No sugar coating. The FLT is very considerate and
approachable. He has all the patience when some of us are having
difficulty following the thread of our discussions. The online modality
is well-balanced. No major issues with it.
