Introductory Message

The Self-Learning Module (SLM) is prepared so that you, our dear learners, can continue your studies
and learn while at home. Activities, questions, directions, exercises, and discussions are carefully
stated for you to understand each lesson.

Each SLM is composed of different parts. Each part shall guide you step-by-step as you discover and
understand the lesson prepared for you.
Pre-test are provided to measure your prior knowledge on lessons in each SLM. This will tell you if you
need to proceed on completing this module or if you need to ask your facilitator or your teacher’s
assistance for better understanding of the lesson. At the end of each module, you need to answer the
post-test to self-check your learning. Answer keys are provided for each activity and test. We trust
that you will be honest in using these.

In addition to the material in the main text, Notes to the Teacher are also provided to our facilitators
and parents for strategies and reminders on how they can best help you on your home-based
learning.

Please use this module with care. Do not put unnecessary marks on any part of this SLM. Use a
separate sheet of paper in answering the exercises and tests. And read the instructions carefully
before performing each task.

If you have any questions in using this SLM or any difficulty in answering the tasks in this module, do
not hesitate to consult your teacher or facilitator.

How do you find the first activity? Did you experience to participate in
an online survey? Do you know how to create a survey through online? This
lesson will help you to create one.

What Is It

Let us discuss the advantages and disadvantages of online

surveys.But first let us know what is an online survey.
An online survey is the gathering of data on particular issues using
internet. To make this happen we use online survey tools.Online survey
tools include facebook, freeonlinesurveys,SurveyMonkey,survey share,
Google forms, You tube and more.

Some Advantages of using Online Tools

An online data gathering tool is a computer application that can be
used to gather data through internet. Some advantages of data gathering
tools are as follows:
1. People can easily participate in the survey as long as the internet is
available.
2. The internet can acquire to different places.
3. Respondents maybe more open to discuss sensitives issues compare in a
face to face interview.
4. It helps to build web-based communities or group support.
5. It can save time and money in gathering data compared to physical travel.
6. Electronic form can reduced expenses in data collection and recording
equipment.

Disadvantages of Using Online Tools

Even though online surveys can be easier to administer and more

economical than traditional surveys, it may also pose some problems in
obtaining scientifically valid and accurate results.

1. Anyone can access the online survey therefore the researcher has no
control over sample selection if posted it in public.

2. Those who are interested only in the topic will more likely to join the
online survey which gives in biased result. Unlike to a random selection
where even the uninterested individual can give their opinions.
3. Some online survey sent vial email end up to spam mail that will cause no
response from the invited participants.
4. Some respondents may have multiple email addresses that may result in
duplication of the online survey results.
5.There is no way to verify the identity of the respondents, their
demographic background, their locations, etc.
6. Giving prize or gift as incentive may result to multiple responses from one
individual with the strong desire to win.
7. Webcam if needed in the survey may not be available to some
participants.
8. Lack in computer skills can hinder participants to join the survey.
9. It is more difficult to clarify instructions and responses in online survey
compared to traditional survey. It can result to delayed responses.

How to Create Online Survey Form

Surveys usually conducted through distributing forms to people.
Some survey use face to face interaction and phone calls.These collected
data were computed and analyze manually and with the aid of calculator.
But today, with ICT, survey can be done easily through the use on internet.
As a future entrepreneur, online survey can help you to gather data
easily with the use of online survey tools. You can use this information in
developing your product or services. It will help you in your marketing
strategy as well.
This lesson will help you create your own online survey. Read and
understand the steps.
Step 1: Sign up to a free online tool. You will need an email address to
register. Most online tools have almost the same command tabs used in
building questionnaires. For this activity, we will use freeonlinesurveys to
help you design your online survey.Enter your name and email address and
click create a free survey.

Step 2: Click survey then click new project in the left side to go to next page.

Step 3:Click survey. Then write the title of your survey and click Next Step.

Step 4: Click the (enter page description) and type your survey description.

Step 5: Click (enter your question) box and write your question number 1.
Slide down the box on the left side of the question box and your preferred
question format. The sample choose multiple choice (multi select). Write
your choices in the (option text).If you need to add more option click (add
answer)

Step 6: Add another question by clicking the (ADD A QUESTION)below.
Continue building the form by adding more questions using the chosen
question types.Click (Finish Survey) if your done with your questions.You
can also edit it and write (Thank You)

How to Disseminate Online Survey Form

Step 7: After completing the questions, you are ready to share it to your
target respondents. Respondents are those people who will answer your

survey. To do that, click the [Send] button on the top of the survey.Then
click (continue as a free user) since we are not paid member of the site.

Step 8: You are now directed to a (Web Link) page. For this survey we will
use the facebook page to send our survey. Click the facebook logo.Click
(Share to News Feed or Story)arrow down and choose (Share in Private
Message)

How to Process Online Survey Form Results
Step 9: Send the link to your classmate using messenger and have them
answer the survey form. Wait for them to respond to the survey. One of the
advantages of using online survey tools is the ease of generating results.
Find out about the result of the survey by clicking on the [results] tab. Click
the the results. Answer the following questions.

A. How will the results help the entrepreneur in improving their

product?
B. As a young entrepreneur, how will you use online surveys in
achieving your goals?
