Practice Unit Assessment A

Attempt ALL questions.

Write your answers clearly on plain paper.
You should clearly identify the question number you are attempting.
You may use a calculator.
Full credit will only be given only to solutions which contain appropriate working.
State the units in your answer where appropriate.
FORMULAE SHEET

Trigonometric formulae:
sin ( A  B ) = sin A cos B  cos A sin B
cos ( A  B ) = cos A cos B  sin A sin B

sin 2 A = 2 sin A cos A

cos 2 A = cos 2 A − sin 2 A

= 2 cos 2 A − 1
= 1 − 2 sin 2 A

Standard Derivatives:
f (x ) f ' (x )

sin ax a cos ax

cos ax − a sin ax

Standard Integrals:
f (x )  f (x )dx
