    Procedure text is a text that explain how to use or to make

    something step by step

    (Teks prosedur adalah sebuah teks yang menyajikan langkah-


    langkah kegiatan atau berbagai tahapan untuk melakukan
    atau menghasilkan sesuatu).
    PURPOSE
    The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make
    something ( memberitahu pembaca bagaimana melakukan atau membuat
    sesuatu.)

    The information is presented in a logical sequence of events which is broken up


    into small sequenced steps (Informasi disajikan dalam urutan kejadian yang
    logis yang dipecah menjadi langkah-langkah kecil yang berurutan)

    These texts are usually written in the present tense. The most common
    example of a procedural text is a recipe (Teks-teks ini biasanya ditulis dalam
    present tense. Contoh teks prosedur yang paling umum adalah resep
    Texts that explain how something works or how to use instructions or
    operation manual, for example, how to use a video game, and a computer.

    Texts that instruct how to do a particular activity, example, games, and


    science experiments

    A text that explain how to use or to make something, example : Recipe


    MANUAL PROCEDURAL TEXT
    How To Operate a Rice Cooker
    First, clean the rice with the water in the rice cooker pot

    Second, throw the used water and add the amount of water once again. Measure the
    water so that it will not overfill the line.

    Then put the rice cooker pot into the cooker unite. Cover the pot with the lid.

    After that, push the power button to start cooking. Make sure you plug in the cooker
    before pushing the power button.

    The rice cooker will make a sound as the sign when the rice is done. Some rice cooker
    have a warmer that keep the rice warm.

    Lastly, the warm rice is ready to be served

    How To Make a Milk Tea
    Ingredients

    1 cup of water step


    1 teaspoon of your First, boil 1 cup of water in a small saucepan
    favorite tea leaves together with 1 teaspoon of your favorite tea
    ¾ cup milk sweetener of
    leaves
    your choice
    Second, Brew the tea for 2-5 minutes
    Tools Then add ¾ cup of milk to the tea
    Next, return the tea and milk to boil and remove it
    A small strainer immediately to prevent scalding the milk
    A large tea mug Hold a small strainer over a large mug and strain
    A teaspoon the tea into a mug
    A small saucepan Last, add sweetener if needed.

    Materials (Bahan)
    Materials consist of ingredients that are used in making something. But not all
    parts of procedure text includes materials, sometimes a procedure text does not
    have materials section.

    Steps/Methods
    Contains the steps or sequences that must be done so that the objectives outlined
    in the aim/goal to be achieved. Steps or sequences must be a sequence from the
    first to the last
    Language Feature
    Using imperative sentence patters (Command), for example, Cut, Do not
    mix, and so on.

    Using active verbs, such as turn, put, do, mix, etc.

    Using connectives (Conjunction) to sort of activities, such as then, while,


    etc.

    Using adverbials (Adverbs) to express detail the time, place, manner


    accurate, for example, for five minutes, 2 hours, etc.

    Using the simple present tense.


    EVALUATION
    1. What of text is it? Is it a food procedural text, beverage procedural
    text or manual ?

    2. What is the purpose of this procedural text?

    3. What thing should be prepare before making it?

    4. What do we do after we Brew the tea for 2-5 minutes?


    Can we make a Milk tea with any topping? Tell the topping if it can!
