600H Set Up
600H Set Up
600H Set Up
PREPARATION:
1. Make sure all load sense lines are connected correctly. This can be done by checking the bulkhead on
top of the transfer case and making sure all colour-coded lines are going to the right place (see diagram
below); setup cannot be performed with incorrect load sense connections.
i) While on the default starting screen, press the “i” button to see the machine info page.
ii) Shown below is the Machine Info screen. Notice what each value on this screen represents. This
screen will be used extensively throughout this procedure.
Note: Refer to the pressure table at the end of the procedure for the correct pressures.
3. Setting the machine to Main Pump Setup Mode: This mode uses the grapple close circuit to
set the max main pump and max LS pressures. To set machine to Main Pump Setup Mode:
i) Ensure that the grapple is fully closed and in a position where it can safely open and close
as the grapple can move during this process.
ii) Temporarily set the grapple open/close feed reducer on the rear control valve to the max position
by turning it in. If this is not done the max main pump pressure and max LS pressure will be
incorrect.

iii) On the MD4 screen press the ‘Menu’ button and then press the “Adjust” button.
iv) In the Adjust menu press “Service Adjust Group” and then press on the “Program Mode” button.
v) Use finger to scroll through program modes and select “Main Pump Setup”. Then press the back
arrow 3 times after verifying that the program mode is set to “Main Pump Setup”.
vi) Once you return to the main screen press “OK” for the following pop-up.
vii) Press and hold the grapple close button for at least 6 Seconds on the RH joystick until you see
the constant pressure light on the MD4 screen and then release the button. The machine is now
in main pump setup mode and you should be able to hear the pump reaching max pressure.
To turn off constant pressure: Quickly press the grapple open or grapple close button and you
should see the constant pressure light turn off and the pump pressure drop.
viii) Navigate to the Hydraulic Info screen. Pressure readings should be much higher than normal
operating conditions in this mode. To return to the normal program mode see step 18.

4. Setting max main pump pressure: Pump outlet pressure is the sum of LS pressure into the
controller and differential pressure. When in main pump setup mode, the pump is “shorted out” to reach
max pressure. To adjust max pump pressure:
i) Make sure the machine is in Main Pump Setup mode (see step 3)
ii) Make sure that the directional travel slider on the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral)
position so that the drives are disabled.
iii) Monitor main pump pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen (see pressure table for desired value).
MAIN PUMP
PRESSURE
iv) Temporarily increase the max LS pressure by turning in the set screw located behind the front
control valve 1-2 turns (See step 5 iv.). If the initial max LS relief setting is too low, pressure will
be relieved at the front control valve and adjusting the pump set screw will not have the desired
effect.
v) Adjust max pump pressure using set screw located on the controller. If turning in the max pump
pressure set screw more than 1 turn makes no change the max LS relief is too low. Follow the
previous step and turn in the max LS set screw an additional turn before reattempting this step.

Note: If you are attempting to set only the max LS pressure and see no change in LS pressure after 1 turn
of the max LS pressure set screw temporarily set the main pump max pressure higher (See step 4 v.).
After setting the max LS pressure ensure that the main pump max pressure is also set correctly (See step
4).

6. Setting the machine to Function Setup mode: This program mode disables the drives so
functions can be easily setup when the machine is not in motion.
i) Press the ‘Menu’ button and then press the “Adjust” button.
ii) In the Adjust menu press “Service Adjust Group” and then press on the “Program Mode” button.
iii) Use finger to scroll through program modes and select “Function Setup”. Then press the back
arrow 3 times after verifying that the program mode is set to “Function Setup”.
i) Once you return to the main screen press “OK” for the following pop-up. The drives are now
disabled. The drives can also be disabled by moving the drive selector on the LH joystick to the
middle (neutral) position. To enable drives after hydraulic setup is complete see step 18.
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider on
the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Monitor differential pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen (see pressure table for desired value).
DIFFERENTIAL
PRESSURE
iii) Temporarily turn the pump differential set screw all the way in. This allows the valve differential
set screw to be adjusted. The pump differential set screw will be revisited in step 8 to assign its
desired value.
PUMP DIFFERENTIAL
(13mm WRENCH + 4mm ALLEN KEY)
iv) Adjust the valve differential set screw to bring differential pressure to its desired value.
8. Setting pump differential pressure: The pump regulates its outlet pressure to stay within a
defined range above the LS pressure into the controller. This differential pressure compensates for the
pressure losses across the system and impacts the responsiveness of the pump. To adjust the pump
differential setting:
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider on
the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Monitor differential pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen (see pressure table for desired value).

iii) Turn the set screw located on the pump controller to adjust differential setting to desired value.
PUMP DIFFERENTIAL
(13mm WRENCH + 4mm ALLEN KEY)
iv) After setting the pump differential pressure verify that the front control valve is not making a
“hissing” noise. If the valve is making noise slowly turn out the valve differential set screw (See
Step 7 iv.) until the “hissing” stops and then turn it in ¼ turn.
9. Setting steer feed reducer: Maximum load sense pressure signal from the steering cylinders is
limited using a relief in the steering section of the front control valve. This relief is called a feed reducer.
To adjust the feed reducer value for steering:
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider
on the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Make sure the articulation lock bar is installed.
iii) Slowly steer in one direction and hold joystick or steering wheel.
iv) Monitor LS pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen until it stabilizes (see pressure table for
desired value).

v) Adjust this pressure using the setscrew located on section 1 of the front valve.
10. Setting dozer feed reducer: Maximum load sense pressure signal from the dozer cylinders is
limited by the dozer feed reducer. To adjust this feed reducer:
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider on
the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Move dozer up until end of cylinder travel and hold dozer control lever.
iii) Monitor LS pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen until it stabilizes (see pressure table for desired
value).

11. Setting grapple rotate feed reducer: Maximum load sense pressure signal from the grapple
rotate motor is set by a feed reducer. To adjust this feed reducer:
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider on
the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Cap grapple rotate lines at the rear chassis bulkhead or at the motor.
iii) Hold either rotate direction control button.
iv) Monitor LS pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen until it stabilizes (see pressure table for desired
value).

cylinders is controlled by a feed reducer. To adjust this feed reducer:
i) Make sure the machine is in Function Setup mode (see step 6) or the directional travel slider on
the left hand joystick is set to the middle (neutral) position so that the drives are disabled.
ii) Move arch out until end of cylinder travel and hold joystick in same position.
iii) Monitor LS pressure on the Hydraulic Info screen until it stabilizes (see pressure table for desired
value).
