About Sensors
The internet of things (IoT) derives its power from technologies that mimic the human senses of touch, smell,
sight, taste and hearing : sensors embedded in devices, and internet connections that allow networked
devices to gather massive amounts of information and analyse it all for meaning. (Paraphrased from Internet of
Things (IoT) Technologies: CompTIA’s Future of Tech)

Sensor A device that can pick up physical signals from its surrounding environment and, in some
way, respond to this information.
The Cloud A computing model in which remote storage or a computing resource is shared by many
different users and accessible on demand via an internet connection.
Accelerometer A type of sensor that measures the velocity of an object—or how fast it’s going.
Gyroscope A type of sensor that determines the orientation of an object—or which way it’s pointing.
About Sensors
Provide four examples of sensors that pick up physical signals from its surrounding environment
and respond to this information.
There are two in the article. You need to add two more.
Four examples of sensors include light sensors which aim to sense light, temperature sensors
which aim to sense a rise and fall in temperature, motion sensors which aim to track physical
movement and Pressure sensors which aim to convert pressure into electrical energy.
Outline how connection to the internet is key to the IoT and how devices connect.
Most IOT connect the cloud, this is often through the use of wired ethernet or wifi. Connecting to the
cloud allows the users to actually interact with the devices, making it possible to run updates to the
devices software. Devices connect to each other and the internet through wires, cables, radio waves
etc.
