Course Objectives:
The purpose of this paper is to enable the students learn nature scope and structure of International Business, and understand the influence of various environmental factors on international
business operations.

Pre-requisites: General awareness of economy towards business & industries.

Course Learning Outcomes: On completion of this course, the students will be able to:

 To recall the Principles, Practices and Guidelines of International Business Environment


 Explain the impact of Changing International Business Environment on Business
 Outline how an entity operates in a business environment.
 Analyse the impact of social, cultural, political and legal factors affecting business.
 Develop perspective on neo-liberal trends influencing regional business.
 To create Foreign market selection, Entry mode and investment mode for Business Expansion Abroad

Business ,Domestic, foreign and global environments and their impact on international business decisions.
World trade in goods and services – Major trends and developments, state policy, Entry Strategies
Module III International Financial and Labor Environment 20
Indian money and capital markets, stock Exchange: meaning, functions and constituents, Need of Indian government intervention in International
business and the specific legislations, EXIM policy, FEMA, SEBI etc.
International Labour Organization (ILO), International Labor Standards on Occupational Safety and Health

International Economic Institutions – WTO, World Bank, IMF and their importance to India, Foreign Trade Policy. Regional Economic
Groupings in Practice: Regionalism vs. multilateralism, Structure and functioning of Regional economic cooperation.

Module V: Multinational Corporations and their involvement in International Business 15

Issues in foreign investments, technology transfer, pricing and regulations; International collaborative arrangements and strategic alliances.
Emerging Developments and Other Issues, Growing concern for ecology; Counter trade; IT and international business

Pedagogy for Course Delivery: The course will be taught using the four Quadrant approach, i.e., the course will have e-Tutorial, e-Content, Discussions Forums, and Continuous Assessment.
Teaching-Learning pedagogy has a healthy blend of both theoretical and practical aspects. The post session assignments/projects require the students to work on the concepts taught in the
classroom. Quiz and Case Study/articles on contemporary issues will be a part of it. Participants are also exposed to lectures by industry experts for practical insights into industry trends and
current issues.

List of Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDA):

1.A sector will be assigned to each student from which a student has to choose a company : Students Group (3-4students per group) will prepare a report .

• In what ways and to what extent is the company international?

• Assess the internationalization strategy of the company.

• Do a SWOT analysis of the company.

 Analyse the impact of social, cultural , political, legal factors of the host country affecting business.

2. Students Group (2-3 students) will compose a report ,Focusing on one foreign country unit of the Indian Company allotted to you ,answer the following questions:

• When, how and why did the company enter into that specific foreign country? Did the "why" come true as initially expected? If not, why not?
• What role or roles does that foreign unit currently play in the overall company? How did such roles evolve in the past?

• The impact of changes in international business due to Covid-19 what are your suggestions for the company for regional/ global integration.

3. Group Case Discussion

• Every student is expected to participate in a self-formed group of 2 or 3. Each group will submit comments and present on at least 2 cases over the term. You are required to be concise.
