3x3 Rules
1. Each basketball game lasts 10 minutes or the first team to score 21 points. At each stoppage
of play the clock is stopped. In case of a tie at the end of the game, the team that scores a
points during this period is declared the winner.
2. Before the start of the game, both teams will warm up simultaneously.
3. The match is started by toasting a coin. The team that wins the draw decides on the
possession of the ball and starts the game. To start the game, the defender of the team that
has possession receives the ball and gives it back to the attacker.
4. In 3-a-side basketball, after each basket is scored, the ball is returned to the opponent. The
ball is returned to the opponent in the no-load zone. A team must launch its attack by taking
the ball out from 3 points line with both feet out.
5. Each successful shot inside the arc equals 1 point. Each successful shot from behind the arc
equals 2 points and each successful free throw equals 1 point.
6. If a team commits 6 fouls, a free throw is awarded to the opposing team. If a team commits a
total of 9 fouls, any subsequent fouls will be considered technical. So you will shoot a free
throw and maintain the possession.
7. A free throw is awarded to a team when a player of the opposing team commits a foul while
shooting inside the arc, on the other hand a foul committed behind the arc will result in 2 free
throws to the opposing team.
8. No additional free throw is awarded for a foul committed during the shooting act followed by a
successful field goal. But the foul would be recorded.
9. From 7 team fouls, 2 free throws are awarded to the opposing team. Also following an
unsportsmanlike or technical foul, possession is kept after the last free throw. The game will
be restarted behind the arc.
10. After each scored basket or last free throw the defending team starts the ball from behind the
3 points line.
11. In the event of a missed basket or free throw, the attacking team will rebound the ball and
may choose to attack without returning the ball behind the arc. When the attacking team
rebounds or recovers the ball, they must return the ball behind the arc.
12. Following a dead ball, possession of the given ball must begin with an exchange of the ball
behind the arc.
13. A player is considered behind when both feet are outside the arc.
15. In a dead ball situation (after a basket or out-of-bounds play), both teams may make
substitutions. The incoming player is required to wait for his teammate to leave the court
before entering the game.
