haheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies was set up by the
Delhi Administration in 1987 to impart business and management
education at the undergraduate level, in response to the perceived
demand for quality business education at this level.

Shaheed Sukhdev College Of Business Studies (CBS) is the premier

and only specialized institution of the University of Delhi
imparting education in this field. The college offers four courses
out of which three are three-year full-time degree courses leading to
the award of ‘Bachelor of Business Studies,’ ‘Bachelor of
Financial and Investment Analysis,’ and ‘Bachelor of Science (H)
Computer Science’ degrees respectively. The fourth one is a one-and-
a-half year full-time ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Computer
Applications.’

Over 20 years down the line, CBS has metamorphosed from a mere
academic institution into a rich & glorious tradition, one that has
shaped numerous lives and careers. Today, it is the most sought
after institution for learning at the undergraduate level and carries
scholastic reputation of its own right. Every year a rich harvest of
business managers, financial analysts, and management experts
emerge from its portals to further add to our nation’s corporate clan.

Over the period of almost two decades CBS has emerged as an island
of academic excellence. Today it boasts of a very good
infrastructure, excellent computer labs, well-maintained
library and conference room and over & above, the finest
brains of dedicated teachers and professors of proven record.

CO – CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

CRESCENDO – THE COLLEGE FESTIVAL

The college pays adequate attention to the all round development of

the students through Crescendo, the annual business and cultural
festival. It provides ample opportunity to the students to organize
events and interact with students of other institutes.
Panchangni, the Choreography competition, Rang Manch the
Dramatics competition, Mridang, the Music Competition, Return of
the Pirates, the Treasure Hunt are annual features. The college also
organizes other inter and intra college events such as quizzes,
debates, and other business games the year round.

CONVERGENCE - CORPORATE SEMINAR

Convergence, the corporate seminar of CBS is a platform where

students can interact face to face with the best brains in
business. We at CBS believe not only in making individuals
powerhouses of knowledge but world class managers who would shape
the future of corporate India. With this objective in mind, every year
this seminar is organized to give students an insight into the intricacies
of the corporate world and to update them about the latest trends
globally. The event, comprising four sessions, spread over two days,
witnesses the front runners in Finance, Marketing, HR and
Information Technology, giving their valuable inputs about
emerging issues in the industry and provide for capsuled
knowledge dissemination for students.

FINWIZ – THE STOCK EXCHANGE SIMULATION

The college organizes Finwiz, a stock exchange simulation.

Becoming a rage in the corporate circles, the game involves the use of
computer networks to simulate a realistic stock exchange replete with
speculative as well as news based transactions. The students have
developed the software themselves.

The college has an active Placement Cell called Career

Development Cell with a Placement Officer and student members to
help fulfill the students’ aspirations. Our placement records are the

THE ALUMNI MEET
The college has assumed the responsibility of alumni interaction by
organizing the alumni dinner annually inviting the alumni, all of whom
are very well placed in their respective careers, to again enliven
the spirit of a ‘CBSite' and spread it. Such a get-together will provide
an excellent opportunity to the college to update and appraise itself of
the career advancement of its alumni. The alumni in turn have
contributed constructively by making relevant suggestions for the
development of our students in their respective organizations and
institutions. Further, they have also been participating in creating
opportunities for our students in their respective organizations. This
get-together also aims at strengthening the bond between the ex-
students and their alma mater.

2. Audio – Visual Presentation

Audio-visual presentations, it has been proved through researches,
