Remarks

This project is working in continuous rounds, do not join or turn unless

otherwise stated.
Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or the
beginning of each round. Move the marker up every round.
All stitches are worked into both loops, unless stated otherwise in the
pattern.
If you need to change color, do it always at the end of the previous
round. Start the last stitch of the round with the old color. Change
the color right before you draw through all loops on hook to complete
stitch.

Basic technique

Magic Ring : starting a piece with adjustable loop.

A magic ring is a way to begin crocheting in the round by crocheting
over and adjustable loop and then pulling the loop tight. The
advantage of the magic ring method is that there is no hole left in
the middle of your starting round. If you don’t want to begin this way
then use these steps: chain 2 and crochet 6 sc into the first chain
and then continue onto round 2.

Special Stitches:
Popcorn stitch:
Work 3 dc stitches in the same stitch and ch1.
Picot stitch:
Ch 2, insert the hook back through the center of the base stitch,
yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.

Materials

This pattern can be made using any yarn you wish. Choose a hook size
that matches the yarn. If you want to increase or decrease the size
of the owl, use the correct yarn type for your hook.
It is important to make tight stitches. For a nice and satisfactory
result make sure you use a smaller hook than usually recommended
for your yarn. This way you will get a fabric tight enough to avoid
small stretching gaps between your stitches once stuffed, and so the
filling doesn’t pop out later.
For stuffing, they are many sorts of stuffing materials and the choice
is yours. For best results, I recommend stuffing your project firmly.
Don’t hesitate to overstuff as long as the yarn you are using allows it.

You can use:

▪ Mainstays Basic Yarn Color: Soft Gray Heather and
White (3.5 hook)
▪ Caron Simply Soft Yarn Color: Persimmon (3.00 hook)
▪ Size 3 mm and 3.50 mm hooks
▪ Fiberfill for stuffing
▪ Tapestry needle
▪ Stitch marker
▪ 9 mm black safety eyes
▪ Brown thread for the eyelashes
▪ Ribbon 1.2 mm wide (for the wings (12” long)x 2)
Size: The height of this owl in the sitting position is 18 cm (7 inches).

Sew the wings and the legs to the owl (see photos for the position of

wish to have your owl looking left, sew the wings, legs and tail in the
opposite direction. The wings needs to be securely attached to the
body. Congratulations your owl is finished!!
