Budget essay:

Let me just start off by saying this project has to be one of the most indepth ones I’ve done in a
long while. Like just the fact that I had to call an actual apartment complex and get information
as if I was purchasing the apartment is just a thing, I couldn’t wrap my head around, especially
when the information for projects/assignments/majors is normally just given to you. Economics
might be one of my favorites just for the depth behind the explanations and this project. Thats all
for my rant, let's begin.

To start off with, I chose a motocycle as my vehicle. It's got some speed, power, and overall
reliability as a vehicle to commute over short distances, ESPECIALLY when we consider the
future gas prices. The monthly payments of $135 are manageable, plus it won't take long for me
to pay it off. I can upgrade it with different attachments, such as saddle bags for extra storage,
handlebar covers and even the gear I wear, plus there's $179 in insurance costs, but those are
decent for the price. It’s not like I really go anywhere other than to commute to school, odd jobs
or the occasional takeout so it's a perfect fit for me. (If I ever need to move, I’ll be able to use a
U-Haul truck to move my things around.)

As far as housing goes, I picked the right apartment in “village at parkway apartments” as it has
a view of the pool, a balcony, and numerous amenities such as access to the pool, parking spaces,
gym, internet, etc, all for $1450 a month. I chose floor plan “E” to give me some room to work
around with as well as an extra room for me to set up as a pseudo gaming/working room outside
of my own room for sleeping. I’ll pay around $290 in groceries, $50 on my phone bill and
basically $16 on netflix. It’s perfect for a homebody like me who doesn’t really want to go out of
the way to get things done, I can do work with a nice view, its $9.67 for insurance rounding up to
about $1800 for all that? Best believe I’m taking that deal.

Getting into my other payments, I’d pay around $276 month in student loans, I’d drop around
$150-200 a month thrifting I just like to style myself a bit better, and $250 in other hobbies.
Setting aside about $180 more for gaming, and over the course of the month buy a donner guitar
for $180 complete with amp, picks and cords, the Skullcandy evos for about the same price of
$180 and put $250 a month in short terms savings on my budget for a PS5. The remainder of all
of this would be halved, with half of it going into emergency, splitting that other half in half,
putting some aside for savings and the other aside for pseudo need/wants I may not budget for.

Overall, this project was fun, in-depth and slightly stressful, putting a real-life scope on what I’d
be doing soon. I know I didn’t budget everything fully but it's a good enough plan to keep my
bills paid and have enough of a cushion for me in case anything does go awry.
