Describe an environmental issue in your country.

Describe an environmental issue in your country

You should say:

What is it
How harmful it is
What harmful effects it creates
And explain what can be done to prevent this environmental problem.

I’m gonna talk about air pollution, which is one of the most severe environmental
problems in my city.

This issue is caused by several reasons. Firstly, due to modernization, private vehicles
become more affordable for people from all classes. This leads to the fact that there are
more and more cars, trucks and motorbikes instead of bicycles commuting on roads. As
a result, the amount of exhaust emissions stemming from these forms of transport
increases, and therefore the atmosphere is contaminated. Secondly, more factories are
being built also contribute to air pollution.

In my opinion, there are two ways to alleviate this problem.

Firstly, public transport and eco-friendly vehicles should be encouraged, and prices of

motorcycles should be raised to discourage citizens from using them regularly. By doing
that, the amount of smoke coming from vehicles would be greatly reduced.

Secondly, citizens should be provided with guidelines on caring for their health,
particularly wearing masks on a daily basis, rinsing nose and gargle with salt water after
being exposed to exhaust emitted from vehicles’ fumes.
Describe an exam that was very hard for you.

You should say:

 what exam it was

 when you took this exam
 why you took this exam
and explain why this was so hard for you.

I remember participating in the Math Violympic test for the first time in grade 10. It was an
uphill battle because there were so many brilliant and smart high school students that are
from all around the south region of Vietnam willing to fight for their places. I was mentally
prepared for the exam, or at least I thought I was because I spent a significant amount of
time to study all kinds of math included many challenging formula and problems from
algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

So, when the time to take the exam finally arrived, I took the test with a very positive
frame of mind and I immediately became busy in writing answers to the questions.
However, after answering a few questions for about half an hour, I found out that for some
mysterious reasons, I was taking a bit longer than usual to answer most of the questions.
An even worse news was waiting for me when I notice that the questions in the geometry
sections were way tougher than I had initially anticipated. So, naturally, I became a bit
nervous and ended up leaving most of the questions unanswered eventually.

Anyway, the test was hard for me mainly because I couldn’t manage my time properly in
answering many of the questions. Besides, most of the questions in the geometry section
didn’t quite match the question pattern I was hoping for. Finally, it became hard for me
also due to the fact that I panic and couldn’t quite focus to understand the questions.
Therefore, I failed at finding solutions for those questions.
Describe an experience when you travelled by public transport
Đề na ná:

Describe a trip you went on by public transportation

You should say:

 Where you went

 What means of transportation you took
 Who were with you
 How you felt about the trip

I would like to talk about a trip that I went to college by a public transportation a long
time ago.

Though I have my own motorbike, I sometimes use public transportation

to commute from home to college. On this day, I went by bus with my closest friend
because it was forecasted that it would rain cat and dog in the afternoon and I didn’t
want to get wet.  We departed at 2 p.m. and tended to arrive at nearly 3 p.m. I thought
choosing to travel by bus was a smart choice due to several reasons. Initially, in this
bustling city, the traffic congestion is not so good. In fact, travelling by bus would save
me some money from spending on petrol. Secondly, sitting on a bus protect me from
suffering the gas emission coming from other traffic, thus, a better health would be
created.

To me, this trip was a great experience. I had a valuable chance to enjoy the pace of
life of the normal rat race in the city that I often ignored when traveled by private
motorbike and also an opportunity to watch the rain through the bus’s window.
Moreover, I felt safer while sitting on a bus since I didn’t need to care about speed
limit or jumping red lights as normal.

All in all, this trip is still fresh in my mind and I would use public transportation more in
the

future.
Describe an ideal house or apartment where you want to live in the future:

So I’m going to talk about the perfect house that I would like to live in. I would like it to
be spacious, comfy and tranquil and it should therefore be located in a rural area with a
quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Painted white and red, the house would somehow look like a little palace for a royal
family. Natural light is a must in this house, and it must contain an effective window
system for good ventilation. The house would be equipped with modern appliances and
air-conditioning for comfort and convenience. Trees and flowers would be planted
around it for decoration and to make it look beautiful.

My ideal house, which would be full of natural light and surrounded by a lot of beautiful
gardens, would be the perfect place for me when I am in need of relaxation, and an
escape from my heavy workload in the city. I would be able to enjoy the fresh air, and
living there would be the perfect way to relieve stress.

To be honest, having the chance to live in such a house would be a dream come true
for me, feeling like a king in his own castle, and I hope that one day I can actually build
a house like this to live in.
An ideal job

I must admit that my dream job has nothing to do with the current part-time job that I’m
doing, which is home tutoring. I have always wanted to become a marketing director for
a multinational corporation. The process of researching the market, planning and
preparing for a product is what I find intriguing and fascinating. my goal is to work for a
multinational company because would like to make use of my English by working in an
international environment and I am inspired by the enthusiasm of the people in those
companies and fascinated with their culture of working.

As far as I know, in order to be a marketing director, there are several requirements. A

qualification in business major and working experience. But more than that, soft skills,
especially leadership skill is a must. I will have my bachelor degree in next couple years
so along that, I will try my best to create and find my chances to have more competent
working experience in this field to get into the position where I can be hired. A director is
a highly well-organized person who can handle adversity efficiently so I will need to
improve at that part too.

As far as I am concerned, job satisfaction is more paramount for me than high wages
because if I’m not satisfied with my job, I would become exhausted and depressed. That
is why I believe a perfect profession for me would most likely be in the marketing field.
Describe an unusual holiday or vacation that you have experienced

You should say:

 When and where did you go on this holiday

 Who did you go with
 What did you do during this holiday

And say what caused this vacation to be unusual

Well, I have been on vacation for numerous time and once I had a kinda bizzard
holiday. So I'd like to talk about that tour. Last December, I had been on a tour of Bali,
Indonesia with my parents and along with us were few of my friends also had booked
their air tickets for the same flight.

So, all of us safely arrived at Bali International Airport at the right time. According to our
plan, we must visit the temples there. However, this tour turned out going to a very
strange place, a village of a human skull. That village has a tradition that after anyone
dies, instead of burying them, they just throw a dead body away on the road. We all
were very scared about that because we never encountered such creepy culture before.
Then I asked the driver about it and then he explained all about the history. It was a
very long and mysterious story.

To sum up, this trip was really scary and unexpected. We never thought of such an
incident would happen when visiting any tourist place. I will never forget that holiday in
my entire life.
Describe an occasion when you played an outdoor game with other
Describe a person who is good at his/ her job

You should say:

 Who this person is

 What his/ her job is
 How he/ she likes the job

And explain why this person is good at this job

My brother is a teacher by profession, and he teaches at a junior high school. But, his
“teaching role” started a long time before he actually formally started his career as a
teacher. In fact, he used to teach kids and young students from high school when he
started his university. In other words, he was already doing home tutoring and giving
math and science lessons.

Initially he started this home tutoring as a mean to earn some pocket money, but as
time gone by, he actually started to enjoy teaching. Not long after starting his teaching
job, he soon proved that he wasn’t just like any other teachers, he has his own unique
style of teaching who inspired all of his students to enjoy learning. His unique skill sets
of teaching also helped him secure the “teacher of the year” award within a very short
period of starting his career as a teacher.

I think that my brother is really good at his work, primarily due to the fact that he actually
enjoys the intellectual exchange between himself and his students like no other teacher.
Besides, he is good at his job also because he is a “top-rated” children psychologist
who can perfectly understand when to teach a student and when to let him become just
a “playful child”.
Describe a piece of important news you got through a text message

Today, I would like to talk about one such important message, which I received about 3
years ago, that made me truly happy. It was a cloudy weekend and I was playing x-box
with my best friend at his house. The game was so so but due to fact that we were
playing the whole afternoon, both of us got bored.
Then suddenly my phone rang and I got a message from my teacher saying
“congratulations” and before it was a list of names of students who had achieved a prize
in the Vi-olympic competition one week ago. I scroll up and saw my name, next to my
name was the letter I in Greek. I texted back to my teacher asking if I were in the first
place and she said YES. I did not expect it at all, I thought to myself that I have not done
well enough in the test so that news was out of the blue for me.
Me and my friend dropped our consoles to the ground and started yelling
Describe a subject that you found boring to study:

Well, I would tell you about the subject that I wasn’t interested in my high school. It was
literature. However, you know, it was one of the compulsory courses during the entire
middle school for three years.

So as you can see, this subject is so freaking important. But there are several reasons
that make me disgusted with it.

First, maybe literature wasn’t so hard but our teacher always tended to be demanding
with us. She seemed like making the simple quote very complicated, I always wonder
why can’t we just understand someone’s words as they are just words, no metaphor or
something so beyond imagination Oh, and when I left school, there are endless
homework waiting for me at home, which really made me frustrated.

Another reason was that there were too many awkward poet I had to remember. You
know, I wasn’t good at memorising things, so I often made lots of mistakes and got low
marks as a result.

Despite all the reasons I mentioned above, literature was still the main subject which
would appear in the university entrance examination so that’s no way to ignore it. In a
word, although I disliked literature at all, I tried all my best to overcome it.
